    I respect that they chose to talk about their personal issues because I feel some young girls have a high fairytale expectation of marriage. Marriage will Always have its ups and downs. May you both be blessed always In’sha’Allah❤️❤️❤️

    sorry but people's opinions on divorce is annoying me so much. my mum endured my dad having an affair simply because people were telling her that "divorce shouldn't be an option, think of how that would make you look like as a person" ???? alhamdulillah they've been divorced for over 8 years now and my mum found the RIGHT person for her. why is talking about divorce such a big deal literally the muslim community get so petty about everything, we NEED to know about these serious issues.

      sumu! Cheating on your partner and having issues in your marriage are two completely different things. The word divorce is disliked by allah. Shaitan on the other hand loves it so whatever issues one has in marriage that option should be last. I can understand discussing divorce if your partner is cheating.

    • @fireandsugar2625
      @fireandsugar2625 6 років тому +6

      sumu! Obviously you talk about divorce if theirs abuse or someone has cheated. But talking about it over small problems that can easily be resolved is ridiculous and it's not normal to talk about it all the time. Divorce is generally what people talk about when theirs serious issues that can't be resolved like cheating and abuse not over little misunderstandings.

    • @strawberry2353
      @strawberry2353 6 років тому +8

      lubzz akh many sahabas got divorced. you don't know what goes on behind closed doors for you to sit down and make a judgement of how small or big an issue is. just because it is disliked by Allah, doesn't mean He made it haram to discuss about openly. the prophet SAW wouldn't have explained elaborately about it if it was.

    • @strawberry2353
      @strawberry2353 6 років тому +3

      kirsty Sneddon divorce isn't good of course but my point is that people act like it's such a taboo to talk about. people need to know about it, the disadvantages and advantages etc. it's just like any other issue, it needs to be taught about. coming from the background i do, many women are silenced. you may not even be happy in a marriage without getting abused or cheated on. what is the point of a marriage when there's no spark in it? of course over time you become companions but attraction should always be there.

    • @lubzzakh1346
      @lubzzakh1346 6 років тому +2

      sumu! Behind closed doors? They are discussing it openly that's the problem here. Which is uncomfortable to watch because most of us don't want to see them break up. The way they discuss what will happen to hana etc makes me sad. I have been in that situation and know how hard it can be to even imagine separation from the one you love unless you are actually thinking about it and have discussed it loads of times.

    Why there is such a negative stigma on divorce? Some people, mainly women, have been through hell and back in their marriages they are forced to stay in them because getting a divorce is seen as being equivalent to a sin . It isn't a sin in Islam, it's not liked, but it's not a sin. If divorce was less shamed there'd a lot more stronger women in the Muslim community. It's surprising how annoyed so many people are getting over the mention of divorce, I really hope we don't have another generation of women too scared to stand up for themselves in their marriages so they choose to live a life of abuse.

      My dad was a really bad husband. He brought my mum to England, and then left her to fend for herself. He didn't give my mum a penny, she had to work instead to feed and cloth us. But every day he expected 3 meals a day, he used our house phone to make international calls and racked up the bills bad, always going through my mum's purse looking for money even though he had a successful running business, he would never miss a moment to insult my mum in front of family at any wedding, party, eids or even just a small get together with family. Thats not even the worst bit, turns out he had a second family. An English wife and kids. They got all his love, attention, money, while we had to do his cooking, cleaning, stand and listen to him swear at us. When my mum would sit with our family on Eid or any occasion my dad would call up and tell her to go home because his second wife is coming. His second wife didn't even like any of our family she used to come out of spite because she knew my mum would have to leave. I could go on and on with countless stories of what my dad put my mum through.
      But she still put up with everything even when he hit her because of all the reasons you mentioned above. She was scared to be without a man. But staying with that man caused her and us so much misery, it wasn't worth it in the end. My mum pretty much did everything my dad should've been doing anyways, she was working & doing all the run arounds, even though she was new to England, couldn't speak any English, had little education & had to bring up 3 kids the eldest being 11. If divorce wasn't so badly stigmatised, if women were given more encouragement and help my mum wouldn't have needed to go through everything she did. I bet there's millions more women like my mum and I hope Allah gives them the strength to break out of these kind of abusive marriages. I'd rather be without a man than be with an abusive one.

      Sumi sum My Aunty got a divorce from her abusive husband and she’s the happiest woman in the world now with her 4 kids :) but it probably helped that she has become extremely wealthy setting up her own business.
      With her ex hubby she was a shadow of herself and lost herself. It was tough but divorce was the right choice- she’s enjoying the single life and living it up.

    Sid is so similar to my husband. His mannerisms and general demeanour seem so familiar that I can understand how he’s feeling. He’s really come into his own and they do say boys mature later so I feel like side personality is changing and growing. He’s wanting to branch out and do different things etc. Dina has matured and now is in a happy place with Hana and she’s settled. I feel like Dina had her juvenile stage and now wants stability in life. She’s happy to go with the flow for a while.
    Then again I’ve psychoanalysed two people I don’t know based on a short video. :D
    I think the most important thing in marriage is that Shaitan doesn’t want you both together and he gets a lot of joy when a marriage breaks up. Don’t let him win.

    Personally I don’t think speaking about divorce is healthy, just my opinion here. I think any issues or problems should just be spoken about with your partner, communicating is key, I think divorce should be a last option. Me and my husband talk about anything bothering us and any issues were having like you mentioned you both also do, but never have any one of us brought up divorce and inshallah I hope it never comes to that, may Allah bless your marriage Sid and Dina💗x

    • @HS-kb3pd
      @HS-kb3pd 6 років тому +13

      Lex Elisha maybe I got the context in which they’re saying it wrong but I personally don’t think mentioning divorce after an argument is reasonable... I would only mention ending my marriage if there was real problems that weren’t getting resolved but that’s just the way I am, I would think differently about my husband if he ever brought up ending our marriage tbh as I would think that’s ‘breaking point’ just my opinion xxx

      I agree...When my husband and I have problems I never mention divorce...and neither does he. We love each other too much to live without each other or be with other people. But I did tell him before we got married, and I said it once more after, the only reason I would leave is if he hit me or abused me, cheated (which he would never do) or abuse our kids. I know people dont like bringing that stuff up... but that was the reality for my mother and the reality for so many women.

      I agree that divorce should not be something regularly discussed. But I think the message they gave in the beginning was that the couple should never be so distant that eventually divorce becomes the only option and then it’s a shock for both. Communication is key. Also pre marriage counseling in today’s times are a must!

    • @Mary-rp1ci
      @Mary-rp1ci 6 років тому +3

      I agree completely. It's not healthy to talk about divorce often, because you risk divorce becoming the 'easy way out' of difficult situations in a relationship that otherwise simply needs nurturing and special care.

    • @kayshaa24h
      @kayshaa24h 6 років тому +3

      No I think it entirely depends on the couple and the dynamics but everyone's lying if they say they've never thought 'my life would be easier if I just left' or even 'i don't need to put up with this' is a round about way of contemplating divorce even for a second. In some couples they are able to and prefer to have openness and honesty in others you probably have individuals who are sensitive to the topic or patient enough to push it out of their minds. The risk is there is one sensitive spouse and the other spouse is just bottling up their feelings, and emotionally becoming distant. Therefore they advised better out than in. If you're not saying it you might be thinking it and if you're only thinking it then you have to deal with it on your own. most people can't do that all the time. They need to share and resolve.

    It's important not to feel trapped in any situation, and so I understand why it's healthy to ask "wait, do we still want to be together?", and then evaluate that, keeping in mind that you do want to be committed to the other person for life, if life allows. It's about remembering that there are two separate people in the relationship, and respecting each other's wants, needs and differences. Glad that yall talked about it.

  • @skeen878

    I agree with the person who mentioned the Law of Attraction. I found that when I started uttering the word "divorce" as if it was an easy option and saying the word in a flippant manner after silly arguments, we were closer to actually getting divorced. Now our intention is to stick together (as we don't have major issues like abuse etc) and so we are healthier in our marriage. We don't discuss divorce as if it's some easy get out clause. Hence Law of Attraction - you attract what you think about most of the time.

    To those weird, childish, and immature comments saying this video is "off," or has a weird vibe, or that they should be discussing this privately, WTF? Have you never had an argument or a fight with your spouse? On top of that, what is pissing me off is THERE IS LITERALLY NO FIGHT IN THIS VIDEO. THEY ARE HAVING A NORMAL DISCUSSION ABOUT HOW TO TREAT ONE'S EX SPOUSE AFTER A DIVORCE AND EVEN ON THAT TOPIC, THEY ARE IN AGREEMENT! Some couples can't even agree on who should do the chores and this couple (Sid & Dina, mashallah) even are on agreement on the etiquette of divorce. Who is the weak couple now?

      Sorry, but it seems really disrespectful, as though she thinks her views are more valid than his. Hopefully she doesn't think that way though and doesn't mean it that way.

    Looking at the comments, I think this video is a bit too real for some of y’all. These are regular hypothetical questions that a couple that has been together for long would ask themselves. In life you have to always expect the unexpected, and be prepared,and especially since they’re parents. This is great content lol plus they clearly said they aren’t on the brink of divorce so let’s chill y’all lol.

    Personally I think it’s great that you’re speaking about this topic. It’s breaking down the barriers and there could be woman or a man out there feeling like they’re trapped in a marriage only to save face. It’s not a bad thing and it certainly doesn’t mean your life is done with.

    Yeeees! continue to talk about real things, I love your honesty. Every, EVERY marriage has problems and the more unrealistic we are, going into a marriage, the bigger the chance it will be miserable. I totally support you talking about real things because Instagram and UA-cam only make things seem nice but they are not. Reality is different...and "normal" is so overrated. We have different normalities in our marriage, beliefs expectations, jobs and it is fine.

    Definitely missed you guys but I feel this video’s topic was a little unnecessary- almost felt like I was eavesdropping on you two. In my opinion, divorce shouldn’t even be an option. I do believe in the law of attraction and so long as you two have made divorce a “viable” option and an ongoing topic, the more susceptible you are to actually getting divorced. Its also easier said than done, this isn’t a non-marital relationship where the “breakup” route is the norm. Im sure if you guys actually parted ways, neither of you would be able to handle it. Just count your blessings and cherish every moment. All the best x

    • @mahbuba4864
      @mahbuba4864 6 років тому +12

      i think it better to have everything in the open and just know that divorce is option but last resort thing. its better to have a divorce then to stay in a unhappy marriage. i think sid and dina are being realistic especially when it comes to divorce because you can best mates with your partner one minute then suddenly it can all go to shit. so its better to talk about it before it gets to that point. i agree that you should count your blessings when it cones to marriage though.

    BUT all jokes a side you guys talking about all these relationships and talking about your own is SO helpful you have no ide! A lot of people actually truly like the conversations and topics you bring up in your questions videos, they're honestly more important than you think. Although the authenticity of the actual stories and questions you get is questionable, it's quit irrelevant. Because those things actually happen and is a struggle for many young muslims and young muslim couples.
    MY POINT with this long ass comment is KEEP DOING THESE VIDEOS they are important conversation starters within the muslim community, thank you! 😅🙈❤️

    I like this video it's honest. In long term relationships this topic has flown around many times. Ur right Sid. But yet people are still committed to each other. Maybe opposites do attract. Or the journey has been so long, that deep down there is a rooted respect and friendship that one does not want to let go of.
    As it's not all doom and gloom. So many good times.
    Is the grass greener on the other side. Maybe not.
    It's natural to get on each other's nerves now and again. This would happen if you lived with a friend, family member or anyone for a long period of time.
    There's also personal change that we are going through. We are reflecting on everyone around us even blaming them for what's not right. Instead of looking inwards.
    NB let each other finish a sentence 😂
    Good partners, good friends and love are not easy to find. When u got it. Recognise it and roll with it. Or u might end up lonely or with sloppy seconds
    🙏👍🤓

    Marriage always has ups and downs. Back in the day, you never heard of divorces and I feel you will run into problems as well with a new person. And then what, you just keep going from one person to the next. I feel these days people just give up, and it's so common nowadays which is unfortunate. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

    • @FeverRayFan1

      Kimberly Mayfield because divorce just wasnt an option most of the time. My grandmother is married almost 50 years and she said it herself many times that if she could go back in time she would have never married my grandfather. And a lot of her friends said the same. They are so deeply unhappy so I personally think the way things are these days is a lot better. People wont stay in marriages that are simply not working these days and that's good

      parisa amany In general I feel people these days don’t take their marriage vows as serious today. In general. You have celebs who are marrying and then divorcing like it’s nothing. And I mentioned celebs because they’re in the public but it happens a lot for everyone. It’s a big decision not a rash one. Something you should pray about beforehand. Of course there are exceptions and I’m not speaking on every situation but just generally. Of course I feel there are instances when that is the only option.

    • @nazafghan3570
      @nazafghan3570 6 років тому +1

      Kimberly Mayfield true. Having a break when things get tough is also a good idea instead of just ending a relationship. A couple of weeks to clear your mind let's you see the good you have in your relationship and gives you a better idea on how to work on differences you and your partner may have. And if or when you get into an argument you will be able to work through it with a better understanding as to how to go about the situation.

    • @dawnallen123
      @dawnallen123 6 років тому +1

      Yeah, it's so prevalent these days. And growing up in a family that was divided, it affected me as a child in a big way. I had a step-father who was not nice to me, and I suffered a lot as a child because of it. My mom wasn't even aware fully of everything. On the other hand, my cousins had their mother and father united in the home, and it was different for them. Now today my cousins have their children, and it's nice that the family is still united. And believe me my aunt and uncle went through many difficult times in their marriage. Even so difficult that they even considered divorce as well, but my grandparents stepped in and kind of said, listen lets try and work things out. If it weren't for my grandparents, maybe they would have ended in divorce. Now years later, they are very happy, and probably very glad they stuck in there. Actually, I know they are because my uncle always talks so sweet about my aunt and I can see how much he loves her. He says he loves her more and more as years pass. And the love is mutual. Have they changed as individuals, yes of course that's growth. But they still love each other and honestly it's a beautiful marriage.

    I think it's super important to evaluate any relationship you are in. My boyfriend and i have been together for 7 years now and at around 5 years at that point i was in college and he wast starting his new career and we both sat down and had the talk of like well what are we doing? where are we going from here? you always have the be on the same page as your partner and if you aren't you have to deal with that how it fits for you. whether that be going your separate ways or making sure you two are on the same path. I think people who always say gosh i feel so STUCK in this relationship or the relationship is not going anywhere that's because there is no open communication of wants and wishes for the future. I'm really glad you guys touched on this! that's awesome.
