Ride’s Mark Gardener joins Kyle Meredith to talk about Interplay, the shoegaze band’s seventh studio LP. The singer/guitarist tells us how this latest batch of songs are finding their true voice while on tour, the legal troubles with ex-management that they faced going into the sessions, and how that pushed them to look back at the bands the loved while growing up, such as Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, Kate Bush, and Depeche Mode, which inevitably left a mark on the sound of the tracks. Gardener also discusses the obstacles of touring as a mid-tier band, connecting with their earlier catalog, and why he looks at all of their albums as their last.
