Bud isn’t as accomplished as Floyd and hasn’t beaten better fighters than Floyd, Floyd was more dominant over a long duration vs tougher comp
Arturo Gatti was a showcase Floyd Mayweather performance. Crawford's performance vs Errol Spence was VERY similar to Floyd's against Arturo Gatti in terms of Damage dealt vs damage taken and a display of total dominance at every level in every aspect of the sport.
You kidding me? Comparing Gatti to Spence????? What Crawford did hasn't been since since Foreman's beat down of Frazier fifty years ago. Spence was the 2nd best welterweight in the world, in his prime. Gatti was fun to watch, but a glorified club fighter. I showed my best friends father the Terence Crawford fight from Saturday nite. And we were talking and reminiscing about HBO boxing damn I miss HBO boxing…
Spence is a pressure fighter without head and lateral movement. Crawford never had to think but simply react and counter. With that being said, Spence clearly isn't the same fighter @147, I felt the weight cuts been hurting him more and more each fight. To me he looked weak during the Porter fight. Now I've always said Crawford's gifts would be the difference, and it would be a better match at 154 for Spence. You can't get in the ring with a guy like Crawford, and not be at full strength or 100%! I actually had Crawford stopping him in round 6 or 7, and I'm a Spence guy. I told my homeboy when it was announced that he can't beat Crawford at 147. Just as I think Tank and Shakur beat Haney at 135, you must be at 100% to F with guys like that.
Errol Spence and Floyd Mayweather are two completely different fighters. One comes in straight lines throwing a stiff jab, who is flat footed with no head movement. Although a good fighter, Erroll is far from Floyd when it comes to ability to adjust in fights. Floyd was also defensively brilliant with great twitch movements and speed. Floyd is a different gravy to anyone Bud would have fought.
@@round1. it’s a fantasy fight so I’m counting all his experience and abilities. Bud is my guy, but in this fantasy fight, with Floyd in his prime, he would have avoided that power at all costs imo
@@round1. bud got the whole arsenal of punches just like Floyd but Floyd could literally feel the punches coming in his prime. Bud does have a lot more power than Floyd did, but I think floyd still has the best defense on paper. It really comes down to stats for me on this because bud has the probability of getting hit more than Floyd. Even though bud just hit ol buddy with 50%, Errol literally had no defensive strategy. But fk all that… its the Terence Crawford Era!!!
After watching what Bud did to who he did it to and how if i had a gun to my head and had to get it right I would pick Bud. Hard to pick against him after the man who you picked to win the fight was just as shocked as the ones who picked against him. It was a performance for the ages. Now Floyd could once again make me eat crow he did it several times during his career. I didn't necessarily pick him to lose in a lot of those fights but i kept thinking this one could be it I didn't have confidence he would pull it off every time yet he made it look easy in a lot of those fights so who knows we'll never know but it's fun to speculate.
Jim Lampley was spot on. Now that Crawford was so impressive and destroyed Spence. How does he fight moving forward? Does he think he can do this to anybody and simply try to be this same person in every fight? Or does he try to focus on staying undefeated and riding this wave and taking less risks? Does he get in with someone who is just as dynamic as him and not look great? We've seen it all before. A fighter looks AWESOME one fight and ordinary the next. Styles make fights and different fighters fight differently on different nights under different circumstances. Mayweather found a way to keep winning consistently. We'll know more about Crawford's long-term after Spence.
But Crawford's never really looked ordinary. Sure he's had a few rough moments, but he always adjusted and ended up dominating. He actually is the same fighter in every fight. He's too good for guys to figure him out.
Floyd did a 3 month bid and Floyd sparred him. When Floyd got into shape all Spence would say i held my own. Everyone else said Floyd have him that work.
Man, Lampley used to be on some bullsh*t back in the day but this is proof he knew when he was just being a company man because he knows boxing. And I totally agree with is "Crawford Question": will Crawford make the mistake and think he beat Spence so easily because of his "greatness"; or he best Spence so easily because of Spence's flaws? The latter is the truth. Crawford is that good, but Spence was never that good, and that can create a false sense of ability as was the case with Spence.
Spence is good. Dont discredit him because of that loss Saturday. If he wasnt good he wouldnt have been a three time belt holder at 147. Losing doesnt make you all of a sudden a bad fighter bro. He was not the same fighter I saw in previous fights. His punch resistance wasnt there. He couldnt take any punches from Crawford. Thats how I know that wasnt the same Spence. Ive seen him take alot of hard shots in the past and just walk through them.
@@spenser6353 I said he was a good fighter (somewhere) but not really an elite BOXER. I predicted Spence would be beaten by the first boxer/puncher he faced, tgat he could not bully, 4 years ago. Floyd / Gatti | Boots / Villa | Crawford / Spence - 3 fights of rugged bruisers vs pure boxers and in each fight it was a beat down. I don't think we can truly start to draw a conclusion until we see more of Bud. Is Bud elite? I think so, but his career isn't over. Have we seen the best of Bud or was Saturday night his best? That's the point Jim is trying to make.
Exactly, but these fanatics can't hear it.
The man is about to be 36. He already has a hall of fame career. The man is elite even suffering through the politics of the PBC.
Crawford already sealed that one legacy fight of his career, however we still got names out there in the mix like Thurman, Danny Garcia, Jermell Charlo or also Boots Ennis these will all be great fights for Crawford
Bud can probably retire right now and that would be okay. He doesn't really have much else to prove. Who else has the best chance of beating him?

Crawford is already an all time great. It is extremely difficult to go from 135 to 147 and remain undefeated in 40 fights while becoming a 9-time world champion (1 lightweight belt, 4 light welterweight belts, and 4 welterweight belts). fury's magic gloves versus Wilder, in sparring (Nicholas Asberry), versus Christian Hammer, and his multiple failed drug tests (vs Klitschko) is his legacy.
I agree, I feel it's a 50/50 fight. Floyd extremely good

Mayweather did it in five weight classes
@@ronmatthews that gets overshadowed by becoming the first two time undisputed champion in back-back weight classes. undisputed trumps all at the end of the day, it means you were the only champion in the division not just another champ holding a belt like the others

ESPN or Showtime needs to give him a commentary contract. Great hearing him again
Floyd washes Bud, 2 totally different levels, ppl really think Floyd is just money and a 0, the man has beaten THE MOST champions in boxing history, is tied for most Lineal titles in boxing history… if you didn’t know Lineal is basically the equivalent of being undisputed

Well me and Floyd the same age but name one fighter on Floyd resume that Bud wouldn't beat the fuck up?Don't forget he can box and use movement as well.Bud varies speed on his punches but when he wants to he punches so fast you have to replay to see it.Floyd one of my favorites to watch back then but we have to learn to actually look at things and not get caught up in names.Floyd was good but I believe if they fought Bud would stop him.Floyds skills would prolong it with jabbing and moving but Bud would hurt him too much fire power and iq with it.
@@round1. bro here’s some information for you if you didn’t know Bud has beaten 10 world champions in his career, Floyd has beaten 24/25 world champions.. the last guy to become undisputed at 147 was Zab Judah he lost his titles to Baldomir, Baldomir didn’t have the money to pay the fees so he only kept the WBC title. Floyd in b2b fights beat both.. when Floyd retired he was 3-belt unified at 147 and unified champ at 154 at the same time. Bud isn’t as accomplished as Floyd and hasn’t beaten better fighters than Floyd, Floyd was more dominant over a long duration vs tougher comp
That prediction from Emanuel tells us all just how special of a coach he was . Rest easy manny
Floyd never had a moment like Crawford just did because he wouldn't dare get in the ring with an elite fighter like Spence in his prime.

He definitely too old bigto be cutting that much and be stronger fight time I too think he look better at 154
I had Bud at 9.
Somebody get my boy a stand for his phone 😂
Errol Spence and Floyd Mayweather are two completely different fighters. One comes in straight lines throwing a stiff jab, who is flat footed with no head movement. Although a good fighter, Erroll is far from Floyd when it comes to ability to adjust in fights. Floyd was also defensively brilliant with great twitch movements and speed. Floyd is a different gravy to anyone Bud would have fought.
What a great interview
The reason why Floyd would win that fight is as simple as two words……1. Speed and last but not least….. 2. Feint
Bruh bud would rock Floyd, but bud better than Floyd, Floyd never went undisputed, bud surpassed Floyd 😂

@@round1. bud got the whole arsenal of punches just like Floyd but Floyd could literally feel the punches coming in his prime.
Floyd and bud in a fight is a true 50/50 match. Bud is still bet the house on bud!!!
The only guy beating Floyd is Duran at 135 and Sugar Ray Leonard at 147. Crawford doesn't have the resume to prove he can be someone on Floyd's level.
U don't know boxing
Good to see Jim Lampley and hear his expertise in boxing.
HBO Boxing and Boxing After Dark was the best of boxing all time and will never be replaced.
Floyd 8-4
E.J is a good boxer. Every boxer experience a off night. Ali, Tyson,Roy Jones, Hopkins, De La Hoya. All these guys had an off night.
Floyd did a 3 month bid and Floyd sparred him. When Floyd got into shape all Spence would say i held my own. Everyone else said Floyd have him that work.
I love hearing good ole Jim! That team plus max is always my favorite
Styles matter. Floyd / Gatti | Boots / Villa | Crawford / Spence - 3 fights of rugged bruisers vs pure boxers and in each fight it was a beat down.
