My wife and I danced to this at our wedding 19 years ago. Been playing it wrong since then - thanks for this. Absolutely beautiful song, and it’s awesome watching you sing it.
I am a 55 year old disabled male. I played guitar in the 80s and 90s and then life came along. I have been through hell and back, dead for 13 minutes and revived. In a coma for 2 weeks in 2016. I just got back into playing after 35 plus years. This is my wife’s favorite song. I need to learn this in about 6 months for our anniversary. If I play this video day and night for 6 months, I do apologize. It’s probably the best video lesson on this song. Thank you and wish me luck. It’s only been about 3 weeks and I just got the minor pentatonic scale (e) down. Thank you again.
I sing the chorus to my young kids every night at bed time. I suffer excruciating back pain and depression from my time in the military and because of it, this song describes how I fell. Some days I can be colourful, have lots of fun with the kids etc, other days I can be grey, because I can’t play with them because of the pain. When I can’t do the things I want to, I feel like a loser, but I know my kids will love me either way. Thank you for a great song.

Also I saw another comment you made about me playing it differently now - it's true, depending on the night. It's easier to play it down the next as a standard A chord, then sus, and D and sus. If I'm having a particularly good night, monitor, tuning wise, I'll play it as I wrote it, like the video above.

Thanks for watching!
Tysm for create the song of my life ❤
Thanks for posting.
Hey Brian... great song.... don't criticize your playing man... Tons of great players can't write a song worth a crap. There's playing..... There's writing and then there's the power of doing both. Great job. Great ear. Great song
Thank you!
Thanks Brian. Listen to you on Spotify.
Thank you Javier!
Lets play this classic right now!! :)
What's taking you so long?
wow great song and I love the way you explain it. BTW that chord with the open high strings I call the "Petrucci" chord lol. Play it at the 2nd fret and you'll hear every Dream Theater song ever hah
Ha! Love that. Thanks Randal!
the video for the song is awesome
Thank you Jim!
Also I saw another comment you made about me playing it differently now - it's true, depending on the night. It's easier to play it down the next as a standard A chord, then sus, and D and sus. If I'm having a particularly good night, monitor, tuning wise, I'll play it as I wrote it, like the video above.
Well written brother! Amazed U can’t read music. TALENT!!!
Thanks Billy!
Awesome
You are The. Best.
