    Part 2: • " REEFER MADNESS " CLA...
Directed by Louis J. Gasnier, produced by George Hirliman, and featuring a screenplay by Arthur Hoerl, the melodramatic film "Reefer Madness" was initially released in 1936. It was supposedly shot in three weeks. The film was inspired by an actual case, in which a psychopath named Victor Licata killed his entire family while allegedly under the influence of pot (later he was determined to be schizophrenic). Here, the plot centers around a group of drug dealers who entrap innocent teenagers and lead them down the fatal path of addiction, with hot jazz parties as the bait and "reefer" cigarettes used as the gateway drug. Financed by a church group, the movie (originally titled "Tell Your Children") was of course planned as a morality tale and, essentially, as a scare film that would educate naive parents about the dangers of cannabis use and the hazards of drug dependence. Due to its low budget, reliance on a weak plot and amateur actors, and a host of other flaws, the film was both a critical and box office failure. However, it later achieved cult status and a form of redemption, financial and otherwise. A critical moment in the story occurred when all rights to "Tell Your Children" were purchased by producer Dwain Esper, who specialized in releasing films on the so-called exploitation circuit. Esper, whose previous credits included the short "How to Undress in Front of Your Husband" and "Maniac" aka "Sex Maniac", recut the film to emphasize its tawdry aspects and released and re-released it as "Reefer Madness", "Doped Youth" and "The Burning Question". The film proved to be a hit and had a long run, although Esper did not bother to protect the film's copyright. Decades later, the film was widely shown as a fundraiser for an organization promoting marijuana legalization and as a midnight movie. It eventually became regarded as one of the worst films ever made, or at least as the first or earliest film to ever have the distinction of enjoying a fan base because it was so awful.

It’s funny because i can remember when people would get six months in the house of correction for having a roach on them but now there’s a recreational cannabis store down the hill from where i live, a ten minute walk.

Joe Biden with the help of Bill Clinton authored the 1994 crime bill, which incarcerated literally millions of people strictly for marijuana, and Kamala Harris single handed oh prosecuted tons over marijuana intentionally, some of which didn’t even have it. They’re not gonna sign a bill legalizing it, they’re both hardcore drug warriors. And Biden and Harris’ actions incarcerated far more blacks than other races, although there were plenty of victims of every race. Scumbags. I never look at just the party of a candidate, I look at their personal history.

I remember studying up on drug use, the dangers, addiction, classification of different narcotics and understanding which drugs are illegal and why. One thing I always remember was that Marijuana was always classified as a hallucinogenic. There still are MANY reasons why pot/THC should not be used in places where a person should have a clear mindset, driving is one of them. I've tried many different grades of pot, and the more potent varieties can be quite mind altering. I had my time with it, and having used it I can say it's quite troubling how many places and different sources have made Marijuana legal, another reason why this country is on a downhill slide to more disaster.

There are hundreds of other drugs that are not even used recreationally, simply because they have no sedative, stimulant or pain relieving effects, but do specific tasks in the body, so we legalize those too, and just hope "educated" folks know what to do with them? I don't necessarily like to take prescriptions, only because they are very complex chemicals, things that the body doesn't even produce, but still help in some way. I raised 3 daughters alone and ran /run a successful small business. I did four years of university in my 20s. I feel like I’m 30 not 61. Pot has been legal here since 2017 and I can tell you first hand booze and cocaine/crack are the most dangerous drugs. Pot is nothing.

I’ve always thought it would be hilarious if the actors and directors and all that were actually smoking real pot filming this and mocking the stupidity of the producers and the people who would eventually watch this.
It’s funny that alcohol had just been legalized again and was totally fine but pot was illegal, yet the characters are hit and running, raping, and killing, which is basically what alcohol is responsible for, but marijuana makes you too lazy and borderline incapable of actually doing all that effectively anyways.

I understand where you're coming from. Like most things though, pot is misused and abused. Smoke from anything is never any good to the system. Pot in an edible form(like all other herbs) is the correct way of ingesting. For some, a micro dosage of thc can really help chronic ailments and disease maintenence. I'm personally excited for more studies being in favor of this once demonized plant of the earth.

I'm for legalization. But the process toward legalization has been done so poorly. For one it was a revenue source, "finance schools with weed." Any revenue for the first ten years needed to go toward researching the problems that crop up like addiction/reliance, cognitive, DUI, how many days clean, or what level for machinery operators, and so on. Instead: _Privatize!_ Companies make profit while society deals with any problems. Sure, eventually, or just make retail government controlled like some states and counties control liquor.

Soo, according to this film weed could potentially make people laugh, dance and kiss… yeah.. horrible I guess. Not to mention that the alcohol they are legaly pouring litterally kills over 3000000(3 MILLION) people every single year. (Not to mention rapes, drunk driving, fights etc caused by alcohol)… Ohh, and by the way, can any one find even one obese person in this film?. To day there is a bar on every single corner with junk food restaurants in between. Weed becomes dangerous only if you get caught with it. 97% of all addicts have traumas and use their drug as the only solution to their unresolved traumas. For them the drug is not the problem, but rather the solution and the only solution they have. The addiction to a drug is always a symptom of a much deeper problem.
