With 200,000 + miles of sailing over 8 decades (1st circumnavigated as a six year old with my parents in 1954) I don’t watch many sailing VLOGs to learn sailing or garner cruising wisdom. I watch for good people who have a passion for life and sailing and who I want to know better. You guys keep it real and raw in good times and bad and I never feel manipulated. I’m proud of you in the way I’m proud of my own kids and now grandchildren. Be well and keep the love of each other, your kids and sailing alive!
I am very similar to Jonathan I. Some ways. My life has been a challenge for almost 2 decades since a workplace accident changed my life forever. I spend much of my life in bed due to pain issues, and you are a very bright light in an otherwise dreary existence. Your zeal means much to me and allows me to experience much I. This wonderful world that I never will in person. It means much to me that you share your lives with us, and it was an immense honour to share in the birth of your child. Never change what you do. The problem is that women should not do that. I agree though that older adults having babies turn out far better parents than the average. When you consider that the average is single moms who fail their children drastically.

I love the way you are both so aware of others' needs whatever their culture or nationality. You are both so generous-hearted and open too. I think that you are where you should be and ignore the ignorant. These people are hiding behind their keyboard and don't have a life of their own. I had my first 2 kids when my wife and I were 19 and 20. You really aren’t prepared at that age to focus on parenting. We had our 3rd child when we were 41 and oh man what a difference. We were so layed back and could devote so much more time to her activities and needs. Enjoy and keep up the good work🤩

I was 41 (2 months from 42) when I had my one and only. Love to see I am not alone. Age is relative. I am a nurse and sometimes I will have an 80 year old patient and another that is 60 and your could just switch their ages and nobody would be the wiser. 😀.
Ben and Ashley, Your channel has brought me joy and at times tears (the birth). We have adventured with you through the seas and land. When you were in Thailand, I enjoyed the scenery and was blessed. My father was military and that would have been a base we were supposed to go to together when I was in Kindergarten. He later went back and remarried and my brothers are Thai. I see those terrible comments on so many pages, it makes my heart hurt for those that are behind the keyboard. I wish them well and to have a great life. For you and yours, I hope you return to what you love and that the children see the world through eyes of hope and love for the world around them. Wow! It kinda reminds of how everyone at my High School reunion noticed the A-holes in our class hadn't changed in 10 years. I think some people have negative traits embedded as default behavior. It's sad that people can't be decent and respectful. You two are amazing and thanks for sharing your stories!
What I admire most about you guys, and many other youtubers out there, is that you have the courage to put yourselves out there and share a window into your lives. There’s unfortunately always going to be people out there that will feel the need to be ugly. The upside to that is there are far more people out there who appreciate what you do. It’s not about just being entertained. It’s, to me, a way to explore and dream about things in our own lives that we may never have had the first hand experience with. And learning about the reality behind it. It’s very admirable to be that for so many people and open yourselves up to the world. Hopefully the amount of us out there that love you guys and what you do will remind you that the utter ‘ crap’ that comes out of people’s mouths is more reflective of their own issues. People without issues don’t feel compelled to be mean for no reason. And none of those reasons have anything to do with you. I think of it like this when someone is mean or rude to me for no apparent reason, ‘wow, is life truly that miserable for you?, if so, I feel sorry for you.’

Dear Ashley and Ben, I thought for a long time whether I would watch your contribution about the birth of the child, but after seeing this post now I did watch the film and I am happy about it. Congratulations. You documented the whole process as lovingly, authentically, honestly and objectively as you can do it. That's just a birth. Plannable unplannable. It was the same with my three children. It shows how seriously you take your work. It's not just a hobby, it's a calling, a passion. And you're so good at putting that together. Your life - and births are part of that too. You have created a work here that is simply beautiful and not at all embarrassing. This is something your adult children will look at later and be proud of such parents. And then there is your mother's death. Joy and sorrow are often so close together. What a gift that you weren't somewhere in the Indian Ocean when she passed away. She was allowed to see your entire family. Participate in babysitting. You could talk to her, cuddle her and still have time together. I wish you my condolences. Take time to mourn and say goodbye. That’s so important. What a hurricane of feelings that you are going through right now far from your home (the boat). I wish you much power, God's protection and blessings for your further exciting journey. Hey Ben and Ashley, I totally loved this week's program you put on UA-cam. I have been watching you two for a long time now, it has been a huge dose of normalcy and fun during these past two crazy years of Covid nutso stuff. When you first had Willa, I thought you two were having a tough time adjusting to a new baby and your relationship with one another seemed strained, so I was praying, "Lord don't let this cool couple break up" because you had been so close to each other through your travels with just the two of you, the love and best friends showed through the screen. Now after watching you two again today, Ben, you are such a good dad, and your relationship with one another is stronger than ever before. You are doing the parenting role like you have been doing it forever, and all the changes you have gone through these past few years have only made you stronger individuals and as a couple. Your kids will grow up with a huge amount of support from both of you and all the adventures you will have with them will only make them wiser and more rounded, well-adjusted human beings as well. Thank you for letting me be part of your adventure, I wouldn't miss one of them. Your safety on passages, your health and well-being, and now the same for your babies will be part of my prayers. I've watched your videos for at least 3 years now. I usually don't make comments but I am on this one. It really upsets me that our fellow humans are so cruel and evil to some of the best people on UA-cam. It honestly pisses me off! I am a retired combat vet and find your videos very comforting, funny and informative. I am older now and unable to travel, so thank you for allowing me to "ride along" in your adventures and family time. Baby Willa cracks me up with her cute little antics. When little man is older, I'm sure he will do the same. My first grandchild is due in just a few short months, and I can't wait! Anyway, I want you all to know that on behalf of the nasty ass humans who like to torture you (with their comments), I am truly sorry! Just remember, screw those dog shit eating ass-hats! They're wasted space on this earth and most likely are so miserable in their own life that they just want to "spread the cheer". It's usually because they can't stand their damn selves. About six months ago my wife and I were looking into a trip to Moorea and cam across one of you video's. I watched that one, then a few more from your travels around FP. Then we backed up and watched all of your videos from the beginning. To present. It was inspiring. We have since watched a few other sailing channels from the beginning. We look forward to your video's every week. We have since decided that we would too like to buy a boat and get out and see the world. We are currently assessing what it will take for us to get started. Its all we can think about. It all started with watching that video of yall climbing the mountain in Moorea. Like Jonathan, what you do is very meaningful to me. Your "systems and components of offshore cruising" was instrumental in me understanding what is needed to go offshore and whether it was within my capabilities to learn. I'm well down the path to buying my own boat with a plan of circumnavigation and I have watched your videos religiously to get informed about what you are doing and the lessons you have learned. Still a couple months before I can close on the boat. You have helped me immensely. Wow, I genuinely never realized there was an age gap here, I figured Ashley was maybe 3-4 years older than Ben. I'm still not sure if 53 is a joke or not, she certainly doesn't look it. (I would have guessed you were both mid to late 30s.) You are actually TV personalities and producers and its a full time job to make this channel happen, alas as professionals nobody recognizes how much work it takes.... it all looks so easy. But I have been there, and I know it takes me about an hour of editing for every minute of resulting footage. I feel kinda bad I didn't watch the baby birth video, just not something I need right now, but wow 2.5 million views! CONGRATS! That's more than some prime time shows on CNN! I love that the video worked like that, hopefully a long term boost to your channel!

When I worked as a kitchen planner I sometimes had rude and disappointed customers. When that happened I tried to imagine all the truly thankful customers I’ve had in the past as an “army” who’d stand by me and defend and encourage me :)

Hi Ben & Ashly, I started watching your video's about 2016. I suffered through a fire where my home was in jeopardy I had a heart attack as a result, was flown by helicopter to have emergency surgery upon landing. Then the road to recovery. In watching the video's you made, helped me regain my will to live. In 2021 I lost my father 2 months ago, but know he's in a better place, life will alway be in motion. I keep positive and know it's just another challenge and keep living. "I bless you and your family". Thank you.

I think that you are where you should be and ignore the ignorant. These people are hiding behind their keyboard and don't have a life of their own. I had my first 2 kids when my wife and I were 19 and 20. You really aren’t prepared at that age to focus on parenting. We had our 3rd child when we were 41 and oh man what a difference. We were so layed back and could devote so much more time to her activities and needs. Enjoy and keep up the good work🤩

Age is relative. I am a nurse and sometimes I will have an 80 year old patient and another that is 60 and your could just switch their ages and nobody would be the wiser. 😀.
Ben and Ashley, Your channel has brought me joy and at times tears (the birth). We have adventured with you through the seas and land. When you were in Thailand, I enjoyed the scenery and was blessed. My father was military and that would have been a base we were supposed to go to together when I was in Kindergarten. He later went back and remarried and my brothers are Thai. I see those terrible comments on so many pages, it makes my heart hurt for those that are behind the keyboard. I wish them well and to have a great life. For you and yours, I hope you return to what you love and that the children see the world through eyes of hope and love for the world around them. What I admire most about you guys, and many other youtubers out there, is that you have the courage to put yourselves out there and share a window into your lives. There’s unfortunately always going to be people out there that will feel the need to be ugly. The upside to that is there are far more people out there who appreciate what you do. It’s not about just being entertained. It’s, to me, a way to explore and dream about things in our own lives that we may never have had the first hand experience with. And learning about the reality behind it. It’s very admirable to be that for so many people and open yourselves up to the world. Hopefully the amount of us out there that love you guys and what you do will remind you that the utter ‘ crap’ that comes out of people’s mouths is more reflective of their own issues. People without issues don’t feel compelled to be mean for no reason. And none of those reasons have anything to do with you. I think of it like this when someone is mean or rude to me for no apparent reason, ‘wow, is life truly that miserable for you?, if so, I feel sorry for you.’

I thought for a long time whether I would watch your contribution about the birth of the child, but after seeing this post now I did watch the film and I am happy about it. Congratulations. You documented the whole process as lovingly, authentically, honestly and objectively as you can do it. That's just a birth. Plannable unplannable. It was the same with my three children. It shows how seriously you take your work. It's not just a hobby, it's a calling, a passion. And you're so good at putting that together. Your life - and births are part of that too. You have created a work here that is simply beautiful and not at all embarrassing. This is something your adult children will look at later and be proud of such parents. And then there is your mother's death. Joy and sorrow are often so close together. What a gift that you weren't somewhere in the Indian Ocean when she passed away. She was allowed to see your entire family. Participate in babysitting. You could talk to her, cuddle her and still have time together. I wish you my condolences. Take time to mourn and say goodbye. That’s so important. What a hurricane of feelings that you are going through right now far from your home (the boat). Hey Ben and Ashley, I totally loved this week's program you put on UA-cam. I have been watching you two for a long time now, it has been a huge dose of normalcy and fun during these past two crazy years of Covid nutso stuff. When you first had Willa, I thought you two were having a tough time adjusting to a new baby and your relationship with one another seemed strained, so I was praying, "Lord don't let this cool couple break up" because you had been so close to each other through your travels with just the two of you, the love and best friends showed through the screen. Now after watching you two again today, Ben, you are such a good dad, and your relationship with one another is stronger than ever before. You are doing the parenting role like you have been doing it forever, and all the changes you have gone through these past few years have only made you stronger individuals and as a couple. Your kids will grow up with a huge amount of support from both of you and all the adventures you will have with them will only make them wiser and more rounded, well-adjusted human beings as well. Thank you for letting me be part of your adventure, I wouldn't miss one of them. Your safety on passages, your health and well-being, and now the same for your babies will be part of my prayers. I've watched your videos for at least 3 years now. I usually don't make comments but I am on this one. It really upsets me that our fellow humans are so cruel and evil to some of the best people on UA-cam. It honestly pisses me off!
I am a retired combat vet and find your videos very comforting, funny and informative. I am older now and unable to travel, so thank you for allowing me to "ride along" in your adventures and family time. Baby Willa cracks me up with her cute little antics. When little man is older, I'm sure he will do the same. My first grandchild is due in just a few short months, and I can't wait!
Anyway, I want you all to know that on behalf of the nasty ass humans who like to torture you (with their comments), I am truly sorry! Just remember, screw those dog shit eating ass-hats! They're wasted space on this earth and most likely are so miserable in their own life that they just want to "spread the cheer". It's usually because they can't stand their damn selves. About six months ago my wife and I were looking into a trip to Moorea and cam across one of you video's. I watched that one, then a few more from your travels around FP. Then we backed up and watched all of your videos from the beginning. To present. It was inspiring. We have since watched a few other sailing channels from the beginning. We look forward to your video's every week. We have since decided that we would too like to buy a boat and get out and see the world. We are currently assessing what it will take for us to get started. Its all we can think about. It all started with watching that video of yall climbing the mountain in Moorea. Thanks for what you do. Yall are amazing. Maybe we will see you out there on the water one day.

I couldn't help but giggle as you two were talking and the kids were just, well, being kids. Between Willa and her eating and smiles and sounds and little Bhodi (spelling?) spitting up on you as you were talking away just made me smile. The calm in the chaos. I hate to think how some people leave mean comments because you are such genuine folks and don't at all deserve to be subjected to that. Like Jonathan, what you do is very meaningful to me. Your "systems and components of offshore cruising" was instrumental in me understanding what is needed to go offshore and whether it was within my capabilities to learn. I'm well down the path to buying my own boat with a plan of circumnavigation and I have watched your videos religiously to get informed about what you are doing and the lessons you have learned. Still a couple months before I can close on the boat. You have helped me immensely.
Wow, I genuinely never realized there was an age gap here, I figured Ashley was maybe 3-4 years older than Ben. I'm still not sure if 53 is a joke or not, she certainly doesn't look it. (I would have guessed you were both mid to late 30s.)
You are actually TV personalities and producers and its a full time job to make this channel happen, alas as professionals nobody recognizes how much work it takes.... it all looks so easy. But I have been there, and I know it takes me about an hour of editing for every minute of resulting footage.

Hi Ben & Ashly, I started watching your video's about 2016. I suffered through a fire where my home was in jeopardy I had a heart attack as a result, was flown by helicopter to have emergency surgery upon landing. Then the road to recovery. In watching the video's you made, helped me regain my will to live. In 2021 I lost my father 2 months ago, but know he's in a better place, life will alway be in motion. I keep positive and know it's just another challenge and keep living. "I bless you and your family". Thank you.
