    The culture of professional dancing is FULL of predatory, authoritarian, bullying figures, who feel that dancers are worth less than a dime a dozen and are expendable.
    This is EXACTLY what stopped my brother and I from seriously pursuing a career as a pro dancer.
    It is quite common for a single dancer to be publicly ridiculed and humiliated.
    I hope all the dancers stand up and speak out on this horrible but accepted practice.

      This is similar to how many people must live day to day with an azz hole supervisor.
      They are placed in a position of power over someone and they treat people like sht.
      Every single person that has worked in the work force for a while has had one of those pompous azz dk heads.
      With that in mind, we have all also know fellow co-works that are crying little btches that make sht up.
      This story could be either way until more information is made available.

      Same here. But there are things about the clip of them talking about it that throw me off. Ik the first girl's voice was shaking and it seemed like she was nervous. Now that could be anything, as in she just nervous to talk about the situation bc it was traumatic or that she was trying to not incriminate herself. Another thing I noticed is that every other glance was to her lawyer or to one of the other girls as to make sure she doesn't say anything that would look bad on her part. The Music & Reality TV has exhibited the same behavior or worse for years. I hate to say it but maybe this will encourage more people start to take a stand against this kind of behavior. Maybe then the networks and record labels who benefit most will stop exploiting this behavior or at the very least artist will for themselves. I hope either way these women get justice.

    As a former dancer…. Gaining weight to the point it affected your abilities would definitely be an issue. Also having to reaudition if the choreographer or dance captain feels like you are not up to par….. is normal. You are hired to do a job, and if your job is to be a dancer, you have to be able to stay at the standard to which you were hired. If that slacks, we all knew there were hundreds if not thousands of other dancers who were waiting in the wings. That one dancer also said she “felt” like she would have been fired if she left to go to the washroom, but she wasn’t told that. There’s a huge difference there.

      That's not how this works. 🤡 When you're hired at a certain size, whether it's a 6 or 26, you're expected to maintain that size as all of your expensive costumes are purchased in that size. When all 20+ dancers start gaining 20 pounds after every show, WHO pays for new costumes? 👀
      Also, usually when a person gains an excessive amount of weight in a short period of time, whether they go from 100 to 140 or 200 to 240, it is unlikely that their endurance, stamina, and performance aren't affected.
      If these girls were hired to be librarians, Lizoo would be dead wrong. But since they were hired for an aesthetic/performance based job, you have to maintain the same performance and appearance you were hired for.

    @nm3547 Рік тому +8

    I like Lizzo's message and her music alot, but I won't support her as a musician if this is truly found to be her behavior.
    Asking a dancer to touch someone who is nude or requiring them to attend a sexual event without PROPER notice, acceptance, and approval...IS NOT OK. It's also not ok, from a partnership.
    Lizzo has enough money to get herself into therapy for anger or aggression if that is her behavior, and if it is found that anyone (her best friend) had to pull her back from a punch, she should not be allowed to have a team she manages. That behavior is not acceptable. Respect isn't lost due to a wealth line, unless you're ego is in the way.

      Just because they hire you as a plus size dancer, doesn't give you leeway to gain any amount of weight that you want. If they hire you at 190 pounds they purchased your expensive costume to fit your 190 pound body. If you balloon up to 250 pounds in a short period of time, there's no way you have the same endurance, stamina, performance as you did when. They hired you at 190.
