Love your inked pen videos and Coco helping you along the way.!!! I just ordered Gift of a Letter book, can’t wait to read it.!! I wish I was as structured as you are with tasks that need to get done and chores too.!! You have been my inspiration for a very long time.! Have a Blessed Day.!! 💖💖
Hi @donnad5986 -- I wish I felt structured right now ... a few weeks of not being able to do my heavier outdoor chores and I feel awful. But, I'm getting closer to being able to get back at it. :) I hope you enjoy Gift of a Letter ... I think it's such an inspiring little book!!!!
I love when people do the currently inked pens as a fountain pen, ink, and paper reviewer myself I love to see what people are writing with what colors their using and the paper their writing on it gives me ideas for when I might have pennies to get something special :) so thank you so much I appreciate all you do for the community
OMG Coco's little meows! He's so playful and adorable. I love the color choices for the month! And I ordered The Gift of the Letter and look forward to reading it. Love your recommendations.
You DO inspire me every month! I had a little Online Campus and lost it 😢! Now I'll replace it with Fluffy Cats! Love the inks and pens, and spending time with you (and Cocoa too)!
Chris, because of your video about the Gift of a Letter book, I ordered it, read it, and made plans to gift more letters to friends and loved ones, as well as colleagues. I’ve collected some favorite quotes and ordered the book Letters by E.B. White. You’ve started a chain reaction. Don’t ever sell your community contributions short. You enhance the lives of others with each video and content.
Hi @MarcellHobbs -- thank you! Oh I'm so glad you got a copy of the book ... it's such a special and inspiring book in my opinion!!!! :) I'm glad to know you're inspired to write more letters!!!!
I enjoy the monthly Inked Pens & progress reports. New to the hobby, and these cover a lot of ground with pen/nib/ink combos. I get a lot of insights in a brief amount of time. As a for instance, I had a TWSBI ECO B that was a bit of a disaster, but when I see how many of those you have and love, I figure I must have gotten a fluke. Enjoyed seeing Coco too (sorry if I misspelled).
Hi @jennirhodes --- oh wow ... that's sad ... I do know there is some variation in how the nibs write ... I've been blessed with several TWSBI B nibs that are smooth and generous flow .... but I know people who have had to smooth and open up their TWSBI nibs ... so that may be something to consider. :)
I am like you, I have a scarcity mindset for some reason that makes me acquire more than I need "just in case" and I hesitate to use things because I don't want to use the best things and not have them later.
Hello Chris, I echo other comments expressing appreciation for all that you do for the fountain pen community! I find these videos exploring different pens and inks very interesting and helpful.
Coco is a lovely playful cat. It was great to see him in action. I like your ink selection and the pen range is attractive. The nib select isn't surprising 🤗.
That Pelikan 800 is beautiful, I have a 600 and 200 and I love the nibs and the look of the pens. Nice paper chat. I don’t save any “good” stuff anymore…I use it right up. I think it’s a function of getting older, anyway, Coco definitely wanted the spotlight today!
I found this video to be delightful, with Coco's appearance. I too have struggled with the urge to save my best things for another day. I'm currently donating about half my wardrobe, both so I'll have more space, and so that I'll be forced to wear everything I have.
Hi Teresa -- I was looking at my clothing the other day thinking how much I'd like to cut it down to fewer ... all my clothes are casual except very few things suitable for sad occasion. We have such drastic weather here from boiling HOT to really freezing (a new more recent years development) so I keep lots of sleeveless to sweatshirts and even have to have warmer outer wear now. Ugh. It's hard to be minimal even though I'm much more minimal now than ever before. :)
I love currently inked videos, they're very helpful to see what pens and inks people actually use and for what. I have a small enough (well depends on your perspective) collection that I keep all my pens inked at all times.
I love these flowy, juicy nibs and inks! When I saw your Fluffy Cats pen I just had to look it up on their site. 😁 They had some really nice, affordable pens. The Strawberry Safari is very nice. It surprised me with it's flow. *big hugs & kisses to Coco* 😇🩷🙏🙌
Coco is such a beautiful cat being a cat on video. ^_^ ~~ I just found your channel this weekend and just wanted to say hi. It was your journaling video from a few days ago. I just recently opened up the Pilot Kakuno I bought many years ago and started writing, trying to figure out a way to journal that would work for my little ADHD brain. UA-cam decided to send me _all_ the "journaling will change your life" and "become super successful with the XYZ planner" videos and finding your video was a nice change to that ruckus. I figured I could trick myself into journaling some more by getting pretty pens and inks, now I'm waiting for the delivery person to bring the new toys. So I'm just at the start of being a new pen friend in this hobby. I love the couple videos I've watched about your inks and pens.
Hi @madeofstars0 WELCOME to the channel and welcome to the best hobby ever!!! Fountain Pens!!!! :) Glad you're here ... please let me know if I can help you with anything!
@@ChrisSaenz13 Thank you! Do you have any suggestions for storing inks in a very space constrained apartment? I have like 6 bottles already, will probably grow it quickly, at least with samples.
I think that tomoe river can be very different and I think it's how it's printed/coated. I have a number of those notebooks from good Inkpressions and I really like them. But hobonichi grid notebooks are still my favorite.
Hi Wendi Sue -- I really like the Hobonichi paper too ... even if my inks do seep or bleed thru in swatching I still like to go back in and see how the inks look on the pages of my planners that don't get filled. :)
Another great selection of pens and inks 👍. I keep debating whether to purchase a new laptop, but remain undecided. I have 2 x 12" tablets that are in constant use (one charging, one in use) and I like that I'm able to lie comfortably on the sofa using them. Like you, I don't like the keyboards on a laptop, so if I did get a new laptop I'd have to sit at my desk. I'd also like to upgrade my digital piano, so I can't purchase everything in one go. Decisions, decisions - they are difficult sometimes 😂😂
Hi Annie -- the laptop I have is new but old ... I bought it several years ago but it didn't work out well because I was so used to my PC. So, now I'm trying again with it. I'm very worried that I'll never get proficient again with a "computer" because they are making them so weirdly. LOL I'm just a simple person who wants to be able to create documents and store and use photos, plus use online sites like You Tube and email ... you'd think it would be super easy but I'm falling into difficulty here. And not a young person in sight to consult lol. I think must be the operating system on the laptop is very strange and maybe later versions of windows are easier. I can still edit my videos from Windows 7 thankfully. :) Good luck if you do decide to get a laptop!
@ChrisSaenz13 I did manage to install Windows 10 onto my laptop, but the slugs & snails out in the garden tend to move faster than the current processing speed of the laptop 🤣. When I think back to the 90s, I was compiling instruction manuals on how to use various software. These days though, I'm so out if touch with technolgy, I have to ask google how to do something if I'm stuck. My kids/grandkids all use Apple products, so they can't really help me at all. I've decided to wait until the New Year, and upgrade the digital piano, no new laptop. After posting the comment, I asked myself if I actually needed a new laptop, and the answer was no! I'm finding it very easy to edit videos, save footage from the camera onto an ssd drive, etc., on my Samsung tablet via the android apps. I think having a tablet with an S Pen does make using a tablet a lot easier. If I was having to use fingers to move around the tablet screen, then I'd think differently. I don't know how some the yt creators do everything on their small mobile phone screens. Think I'd end up throwing the phone through the window🤣. I guess that you could perhaps watch a YT video to help you with the laptop?
My understanding from other FP YT channels is that Currently Inked videos are really popular. I love them. You may want to consider raising your laptop on some books since you are using and external keyboard. It is much better for your neck and eyes ergonomically
Oh this is a good idea. I think a riser would be really good for the laptop. I'm having trouble with it ... it's an old one and I am wondering how on earth I'll deal with it but hoping to make due until I can pay for another tower/PC. :)
Hi Chris! I have yet to watch this October video of yours. Just wanted to say that finally I am well positioned to not miss again another London UK pen show that's really close to me in Hammersmith, West London! October 13 coming up next Sunday! Yay! It's Sunday the week prior as I'm writing this! I have been totally pen hobby fasting as in not watching pen videos, and sadly not even getting round to any journaling because life has been busy. But I'm now trying to prepare about what pens and inks I might consider buying at the pen show. I got myself a ticket for early entry at 9am. Sadly I'm double booked to meet up with a group of friends at 1-2pm. I didn't want to cause that meeting to have to re schedule on account of me, and yet I don't want to pass up spending all day at the pen show. Unless I get real satsified at the pen show in the by noon or 1pm, I might have to pass up the meeting with my friends. Naughty but necessary to prioritize my pen passion at this point I think.
Ooh that sounds like a lot of fun the London Pen Show!!!! Have a great time, and here's hoping you get to do both = finding your pen items and meeting up with pen friends!!!! :)
Hi David -- those are inks I have reviewed! Most have only a bit of ink left but you'd be amazed how many times I pull out the old samples to check something! :) Or if I can't find my tile or Col-O-Ring to make new swatches. LOL
I look forward to these videos! They are always inspiring. I love Noodler’s purple. It is a classic pure purple and I’m glad to see you using it. I too save my “best” things for ….something. I’m on a mission to use them! Hi Coco! I love seeing people’s work spaces. Thanks for sharing.

I love these videos and I love purples 😊 So thank you so much for making them, and making me to have fun with new purples.

Hello Chris , I look forward to your videos and find them interesting and informative. So, thank you for all the work you do 😊

YES I really missed him ... I had figured he got a career and couldn't make time for videos anymore. It's really cool that he has come back!!!!
I have that strawberry safari and it's probably my most used pen! I have a hobonichi cover for it that's a perfect match so I've used it for 2 years

I wanted to see the BENU Pink Champagne in person yesterday at the Dallas Pen Show, but I guess they don’t showcase retailer exclusives.
Hi @MarcellHobbs -- oh how cool you made the Dallas Pen Show! :) I have to be careful about Benu pens they are so tempting!!!!!
Lovely setup Chris :-) Wondering what those "archived inks" tucked away at the bottom of the shelf are?! Thanks again.

Also, I meant to tell you that I had a wonderful male Siamese cat named Coco
I hord notebooks!
I'm trying very hard to stop hoarding notebooks ... it's a challenge for me to use the "good stuff".
