I really want to start this in Vietnam where I am living at the moment. But I’m reluctant due to so many things. The language barrier, not many funds and not knowing how to sort ocean plastic to be recyclable. Also due to new visa laws, I’m not sure on the permanency of living here. Would you start a project?
Ocean plastic already partially sorted itself, if it floats. Just think of all the other types of plastic that don't float, at the bottom unseen. Easiest method, melt it all, mix wiith sand, make bricks. Sure that's an awful result, that puts more micro-plastics in the environment, so there is a best solution. Vaporize it to make a crude oil or whatever. Mix the ash in concrete.
Love 💕 what you are doing. I’m one of your Patreon supporters. At 73 mostly watching from the sidelines but you give me hope that Planet Earth has a future. You go guys!!
Thanks for this monthly news! It's exciting to see a peek behind the scenes, and also see why giving credit is important. I think many people just don't think about that consciously, maybe they will now. Have a good week!
I've already worked in open source projects, and I totally understand the frustration with people not linking precious plastic in their websites, etc. But, in my opinion, your goal is beyond precious plastic : you want to tackle the waste problem. I think that the "ally" approach is a great way to create a solid comunity, but don't you think that it may be counter-productive regarding the waste goal ? Even if those guys are not linked to PP, they are still collecting and recycling waste. (still my opinion, I might not see the whole problem there). Keep up with the good work !
Hi one army I have this idea about cleaning and sorting the plastic . I think that the most expensive part of recycling the plastic is cleaning and sorting the plastics types . My idea is to shred the plastics to a specific size and put it in a boiling water for certain time, and from the amount of shrinkage we can sort the different types. It just an idea and I don't have the required tools to try it. If any one interested in discussing about it let me know.
First, pretty obviously, sort them by buoyancy. Second, since many items will be more common, no reason to go through that extra work. Third, the biggest issue is probably cleaning and label removal. Boiling water is not a cure all, lye helps remove labels and attacks hard to clean items. Really, automated visual sorting, or density sorting is easier than uniform pieces that are then sorted. However, that's a good idea for grouping #7 plastics after density.
I love seeing what you do. Salute to everyone involved. I have recently moved to Ireland from South Africa and can't wait to get involved in the movement.
I spent a time only cleaning my hair with baking soda and vinegar. Also plenty of time only using conditioner. Finally found what my scalp loves, real soap I made, and exfoliation with a scrubby fingers thing as well. If you are getting imperfections in the scalp skin, get a hair scrubby thing! Maybe use a good real soap too, 5% superfat, using some neem oil as well. No dandruff anymore.
Need new residents? : ) Planning a trip to look at large pieces of property myself, but during my research saw your video touring the property. Fascinating.
haha I just wrote a post about the audio and decided to listen some more and ... there you are telling you're aware of the problem. No more than 3 seconds after I stopped to write my post. Too funny! :D
Would it be possible to look into the plastics used in agriculture (i.e. single use plastic tarps and pots) and how to better utilize it as a waste and or recycle it into other products?
Used for heating, bitcoin mining is wonderful. If producing this heat in an air conditioned environment, that doesn't make as much sense. Let's say you could have it heat your hot water, or cook food, it makes good sense then too.
Feedback: Please put links to the ppl and projects you talking about into the video description.
Done ;)

Cannot recommend climate town enough, that is an amazing channel. Eco Gecko is also really good too.
I could also recommend Our Changing climate. Didn’t know Eco Gecko so thanks for the tip

A light ring is good, but I would have preferred a better microphone instead. It is really hard to understand you in this video.
sorry :(
@@OneArmyVideos its not that bad, don't worry. Just some feedback to help you improve. Keep up the great work!

workspace in an old school bus for mobility,
well done guys. Waiting for the Monday update at Kamp.
Project plastic needs to make a boat out of recycled plastic
That would show the contrast between the that and the plastic litter in the ocean

Horrible, horrible audio. Can't watch
Dear Mattia, the sound is terrible. It is better not to have a picture and light, but to give a good sound. This is the first MN I won't watch.
Agree.
45-deg mirror - EXCELLENT IDEA! Front-camera-fans are happy, side camera fans are happy too :)

I really like the sheet plastic

;(
I think you have to make some videos on beyond precious plastic. and some videos on brown leaf 🍁 waste management.
Do better research on btc power usage!
I love climate town
Great Scott!.
bitcoit is a bad thing?
A tool is never good or bad, it's who uses it that can be good or bad.

@@lightdark00 excellent example :)
