    One that I hear a lot is that it's "gay", that you're a "loser", or that "you're a wannabe soldier" or "playing army" by participating. My argument is that: it's great exercise, it's a great team-building activity, stress-relief, and (if you're a prepper like me) is a good way to train in and troubleshoot a viable and effective SHTF kit. And the reality is that when I play, out of hundreds of people, a good percentage are active-duty and/or retired military and police; which, to me, invalidates this argument.

      Also i think the enemy players might complain if i shot at them with a real gun.
      Also, also! It is very diffucult, expensive and time consuming to get a gun in my country, escpecially if you want something besides a hunting rifle. So getting a real gun isnt really an option for people like me.

    • @MHlovesz
      @MHlovesz 2 місяці тому +2

      Well, if you don't buy a real gun you will never experience the healthy amount of fear and responsibility it's use brings. As a military guy, my biggest concern about airsoft games seems that they learn to die fast.

      @@AirsoftReviewArgentina Exactly. This is a game and as a training tool it is really useful for weapon handling. But force on force scenarios teach quickly how not to fear the enemy as you should in real life. For example: A guy with an AK is pretty deadly from 120 yards. In airsoft he is not even a concern. Same with cover vs. concealment such as drywalls, bushes, etc.

    Great video and thanks for educating the newcomers in our sport we need more people like you. I just want to add something about the inner barrel that you missed. For HPA replicas a wider bore barrel is fine since you dont have moving parts on the inside, however AEG replicas can break with a wider bore barrel since the bb has allot less resistance going out the barrel resulting in a harder "smack" of the piston to the shell of the gearbox resulting in cracks. Unless you have a perfect seal between the hop unit and the gearbox any extra air leaving on the side will just cause problems and you will get massive FPS drops. I learned this the hard way and after changing 6 shells on my M4 DMR I found out that a tight bore 400mm polished inner barrel with a good hop unit sealed to the gearbox can get me to the 2.5 joul restrictions that we have with even a M120 spring :)

    One thing i have heard a few times when i started Airsoft: girls dont do airsoft or aren't as good as the boys... Whelp, i once cleared the remaining enemy team out of our location after they had taken out all my team mates on my first game soooooo ...... Yeah i showed them wrong lol and it's definitely not true 😉😁
    And another one: airsoft is an aggressive sport... It truly is not dear haha i have seen so many lovely interactions between teammates and even between enemy players. calling out one anothers good shots and high five eachother or sometimes even rock paper scissors on a doubtful situation on who was hit first lol it's such a lovely community!
    I really love the game (sport) and the sportsmanship and the fact that almost everyone is willing to lend a hand where needed ❤

      This myth is more than likely because of a combination of 3 factors (and this is true, even MORE true, for paint ball as well):
      1 - Far more boys than girls are regular players.
      2 - Girls who go to airsoft/paintball fields as part of a corporate/birthday/hen party have little if any idea what it is about and often shy out of later games in the day after getting shot a few times.
      3 - Corporate parties generally have a more equal boy/girl mix.
      As a result of this, FAR more girls are 'corporate/party' players than regulars. And so when players see girls on the field, they are more likely to be corporate players (who are, TBH, completely clueless, boy corporate players usually have SOME tactical knowledge generally from playing counterstrike/cod/ect and have some idea of basics like what cover is, but the girls are almost all utterly clueless).
      The girls who are regular players though are rarer but completely different - they are often as good as if not better than most of the boys.......

      I started when I was like 11 or 12 and I'm 33 now... I still see kids as young as 10 and 11 running around on the field and I think it's great, I love playing with them. There's no definitive age requirement or anything so long as you can be mature enough to follow the rules, call your hits, and take a hit without bursting into tears every time. Unfortunately I've seen some younger kids come out to the field all excited and hyped up to play, they get all their rental gear sorted and get out on the field only to take their first hit to an unpadded area and immediately begin bawling. Oftentimes they'll run off the field into the arms of their parents and they'll head home shortly after which just breaks my heart. In most cases I think they're just surprised by it and they didn't expect it to be so jarring and painful, but once they calm down and get over that initial shock of getting shot for the first time, generally they can be coaxed back out onto the field with enough reinforcement encouragement, and they're having a blast in no time. Don't worry, 14 is plenty old enough to get out there and play. Just remember to be mature and respectful and no one will care how old/young you are.

    If you want to have range and accuracy, you can get it even in a short gun, e.g. I have a Desert Eagle WE with these modifications: 240mm 6.02 precision barrel, mr hop Maple leaf 2021, ML omega nub, I use 0.40g BBs - effective range about 85-90m . Hop up Nub matters, the precision barrel matters and the ammo, or rather its weight also matters, in addition you need to have an efficient replica that can handle it, that's all... in the stock sniper rifle I had 420fps, I replaced the piston with a heavier one, the lambda precision steel barrel 6.01mm, and Maple leaf 2021 mr Hop nub (and tensioner omega ML) and heavy bbs (0.40g or heavier, e.g.) and the effective range is 90-95m. After these modifications, the replica reloads very easily (stock spring), but the range and accuracy are amazing. Do with it what you want... I have no reason to lie ;) . It's best to check it yourself. Replicas of good gbb pistols, gbbr rifles, sniper rifles (spring rifles), they love good bucking (vsr ML 2021), good nub (ML omega, stalker panthera nub), good precision steel barrel and heavy (0.36+g) bbs. This is what gives you range and accuracy.

    More FPS is exactly gonna give you just more range!
    Yes, accuracy is more important than getting that last 10fps closer to the limit, but range comes from weight and speed. The BB doesn't care what's inside the gun once it has left the barrel.

    • @PrairieDogAirsoft
      @PrairieDogAirsoft  3 місяці тому

      Try shooting a bb at any “illegal-level” speed/FPS, but with zero hop applied.
      It’s not going anywhere but down (very hard and fast). BBs need stability in the air to increase distance. Yes, you get that from an X amount of energy in joules/FPS, but that just keeps the bb/weight propelled while spin from hopup is determining range.
      With .32s, I can reach 250ft with 1.1J of force, which is pretty low. Heavier weights need more energy, but can be hopped harder and last longer in the air

    • @meanmarine24
      @meanmarine24 3 місяці тому

      @@PrairieDogAirsoft
      I don't know what you mean with zero hopup. I don't see the relevance in that comment.
      We probably have different perspectives on understanding how a gun works, since i'm a long term tech.
      I don't really look at the gun, i only look at how the BB behaves by itself.
      This can be determined by:
      BB weight
      Direction
      Speed (For userfriendlyness, speed/direction is seperated)
      Amount of backspin.
      Those 4 factors is what we manipulate.
      If you take a gun with:
      0.28g BB
      90d direction (straight)
      100m/s
      30rps backspin (assume this is for a flat shot with 50cm hop at the end).
      You have a gun that shoots about 50 meters.
      And if you nudge just the velocity up to 120m/s in that setup, now you have a gun that shoots 60 meters. Because the airdrag difference between 100m/s 0.28 and 120m/s 0.28 is about 8-10 meters.
      It's true that there is diminishing returns from increasing muzzle energy.
      It's true that precision is 10x more important than that last 10% muzzle energy.
      But it's not true that higher spring is needed to lift a heavier BB. There is a correlation, but there are multiple factors involved, and spring power is the least of it.
      And it's not true that range comes from extra backspin, unless we count in malfunctioning guns/setups.
      By range i mean distance. Not precision.
      Funny enough, the further a rifle can shoot, the more difficult it becomes to make the rifle precise. I build rifles for many years to a 430fps standard and then moved to UK where everything is 1J+-. Much easier to make a precise rifle at 40-50m :D

    • @PrairieDogAirsoft
      @PrairieDogAirsoft  3 місяці тому

      @@meanmarine24 And I appreciate your experience and time put into building your rifles 😀
      What I'm trying to convey in the video is that FPS is the last piece of a very important puzzle when trying to push for range on an airsoft gun. I'll also contrarily state that backspin is actually the most important aspect because you can zero your scope to land incredibly long ranged shots (I prefer to arch shots for stupid far shots to keep my range up close reliable though)
      Hopup quality (chamber/nub/bucking)
      BB weight
      Barrel quality both in bore + finish
      Are all exceedingly more important than buying a harder spring or cranking up PSI on a regulator. And in the world of airsoft, you can only go so hard before you're classified as a DMR or past a field legal limit in Joules.
      I'm referring to the "smart" folk who simply think harder shots will be the "first place" answer to more range. In a literal sense, yes. In a practical sense to somebody looking for a real, noticeable answer to increasing the reach of their gun, there are many things to consider before even touching FPS; or how fast a bb is going to travel.
      Average people wont notice the range difference in 300 to 350fps, or 400 to 450fps. People WILL notice that a heavier bb holds onto its energy better than lighter bbs; flying straighter and more stable for much longer. I can't count an unstable, very high FPS lightweight bb as the "Airsofter's Way to More Range".
      In a literal sense, yes. In a practical sense, as my video is trying to explain, it's the last thing somebody should be trying to do.
      I suspect were on the same side of the fence with this. As a tech, you'd probably agree that making your gun shoot harder puts more stress on the gun's internal components itself, which won't justify the extra range. The average person might not be as clever as you to build a durable gearbox, so I tell them to build a better hopup and lift heavier bbs
      😄

      @@meanmarine24i was mad about a couple of statements at first too, but then i realised the context of them and hes right. This isnt about comparing an almost broken gun with the worst internals against a 6.01mm barrels, 11.1V 3000mah batteries and M150 springs. This is about having already a properly working gun with internals that are more than enough. Its always easy to blame a gun for our misses, but the truth is that (for example) you buy a brand new good brand AEG and you cant hit stuff, its not the guns fault and longer tighter barrels, bigger batteries and stronger springs isnt gonna make you hit every shot.
      Yes, theoretically more fps gives more range, therefore almost everything he said about the technicalities is wrong on paper, but in reality with wind and the airsoft gun being what it is, that huge money spent on upraded internals only gives 10/15% better performance for an average user. Its just not worth it, therefore its not true that you *need* and tighter barrel or stronger spring.

    my sn1per shoots around 30-40 metres further than the average stock m4. only because: upgraded barrel-5 metres, power - 15, bucking and nub - 10 metres, bb weight, 2 metres (joined with bucking+nub and power) and piston upgrades - 2 metres. NOT AT ALL ACCURATE, just giving my understanding from upgrades and tech experience. so unless you upgrade everything by A LOT then there will probably only be a 10-20 metre difference, max. so i totally agree with you there.

    Bigger batteries can theoredically increase fps. Bigger batteries can (generally) supply more current. How much current a battery can provide is dependent on its C rating and the capacity. So for the same C rating, a bigger battery will be able to supply more current.
    The important thing is however: Your aeg (should) only require a certain amount of current, which should already be fulfilled by a normal size battery. If not, then yes, a bigger battery will (probably) fix your issue, but your battery was just not suited for the task from the start. There will (almost certainly) be a battery with the same size, but a bigger C rating, which also solves the issue. :)

    Couldn't be more wrong on the safety question #1 - Airsoft is in fact inherently dangerous because your safety relies on other people being mature and responsible. And there are way too many people who are neither one of those things and are happy to dump hi-cap 200 magazine into your goggles just cause you didn't feel being hit in your gun. Or they merely think they hit you but didn't, so that notion of them thinking that you're cheating, is enough to endanger your permanent health.
    (Even the best of materials have fatigue limits. Goggles can survive only "so many" hits into the same exact spot. Why do you think you have to buy a new moto/bicycle helmet after every tiny crash, or if you drop it on the floor? Cause it's no longer safe, it won't be as effective for the 2nd hit.)

    So airsoft can be dangerous, it really depends how well the field is managed, I went to a field that almost never tests everyones gun, had a few stories of people playing with guns so strong it went through skin, so before you go to a field make sure the people running it are good people and actively check everyones gun

    Ill never use wide bore barrels. Correct about what a tight bore barrel does, but the barrel quality is what will help with range and accuracy. Most correctly, the better the inner bore quality. Thats why a better brand barrel, or lapping a barrel, hop up, along with R hop or even a flat hop, is where you will find better range and accuracy.

      I actually just order black masks off Amazon and paint them myself!
      Just acrylic paint from the dollar store! Here’s a video of me painting the mask if you’re curious:

      if in correct it only applies to real guns and games ofc, since the barrel gives the bullet more spin

    barrel length also depends on the cylinder size, ie bore up cylinders. you have to have the volumn in the cylinder equal to or higher than the barrel volumn.They can help with accurate shots though. it can get very mathmatical when you get into that area. Also you can get rifled airsoft barrels. i had one and they work well, but not as good as a normal non barrels one with a good hopup. inner barrel size also depends on the engine driving it, polarstar are normally better with 6.06 ish barrels. as the HPA allows it to fly "straighter" down the barrel. nice video mate lots of good details in here. also your 100% right about makes of guns. i had an A&k Mk43 LMG and loved it. but so many people slagged it off cos they said bad hop. so even within the same gun make and model you can get good ones and bad ones which is strange. i missed that LMG

      Rifled barrels make no sense. Remember what hopup is: Magnus effect, i.e. a backward vertical spin on the BB. If you make the BB spin rotationally... you screw any magnus effect and not only lose range, but accuracy. They only "work well" as you say because they hardly make a difference given the tolerance between a 5.95mm BB and a 6.01 or 6.03 barrel (or whatever your rifled barrel's diametre is).
