Also the second time I fell off the swing in my backyard, as I was flying through the air, I remember thinking, “Dammit, not again.”

In reference to the last story, I have ADHD. I was prescribed Vivanse at first, but it was WAAAAAY too strong. In one month, I cleaned out 20 year's worth of crap from my parent's almost hoarder-level home. Please, for your safety, do not abuse amphetamines. They can wear out your body extremely fast even if you take them as prescribed.

When it had snowed heavily for a week, been sunny the next day, then immediately back to being cold. The roads had a few solid inches of ice from the snow melting, then freezing the next day.
I was driving down the road, I had breaked about 2 blocks prior to reaching the intersection, and my all season tires couldn't get a grip on anything, so I kept sliding despite my repeated attempts to slow down/stop. I had 2 passengers in my vehicle at the time as well, and if the traffic was going in the other direction, we would have definitely gotten t-boned, and likely caused a pileup of cars since the roads were so icy.
In that moment I kept sliding, I attempted to make a right turn at the intersection since I wasn't stopping. I didn't even care about myself, my 2 passengers were in a near fatal car accident a few years prior, so I was doing my best to not panic and worry them.

Making a bunch of noise whilst making yourself look as big and crazy as possibl IS reasoning with a wild predator because their entire life is a constant cost benefit analysis.

I almost drowned in the ocean when I was five. I was standing by the shore and out of nowhere the waves rushed out from under me and started to pull me towards deeper water. I was narrowly saved by my dad, who saw me being pulled out and ran to pick me up just in time. I guess I didn't learn my lesson because I almost drowned again when I was 13, this time because I was caught in a small canal that was connected to the ocean, the current pulling me through it. My mom and dad both came in and almost got stuck themselves, but we managed to escape. This canal was at a public beach, but one without lifeguards.

How did she have the audacity to call him a failure for going to school when she’s a MASSEUSE ??? that one must’ve really hit a nerve for her tho considering her reaction lmao I feel like maybe she was just projecting her own insecurities onto him and couldn’t handle it when he called her out a bit

Can relate to a few here but I’m glad I’m not the only one with a bad reaction to naproxen, they thought it was weird when I said I didn’t have a good reaction / wanna keep taking it and I’m very glad I listened to myself. I told my mom try it one time and shed believe me , surely enough she explained to me feeling the same way I had after despite me not having given her specifics before. Glad the person here was okay.

I got a ride home from someone only for them to be a meth dealer and they bought me alcohol and told me straight up "I'm probably gonna have my way with you when you finish that". Don't... Ever say that to a woman you just met..... I didn't touch my alcohol until I got home. Never spoke to him again.

We lived in a duplex. The guy next door (Tom) beat his wife (Carol). We called the cops. A few days later I was home alone when Carol knocked on my door. She told me she had a restraining order against Tom and if I ever saw him around to immediately call the cops. OK. Then she asked me to come over so we could talk. I'm sitting with her on the sofa and she tells me Tom is a really nice guy, it's just that he's crazy jealous. If another man even looks at her he goes nuts. Suddenly there's a knock at the door. It's Tom. He looks at me and says, "Carol, can I ask you a simple question?"
    "He's just here to talk."
Tom came in and sat down on the other end of the sofa. I was in the middle. Tom told me he's not a violent person, but when he gets mad he blacks out and does things he doesn't even remember. Then he asked Carol for a cigarette. She went into the kitchen and came back with a cigarette in one hand and a knife in the other. I mean a huge frickin' knife. She handed them to Tom. He used the knife to cut the filter off the cigarette.
We continued talking. They got into an argument. I don't remember about what. But things got heated and Carol started yelling at Tom and shaking her finger at him and Tom started yelling back and waving the knife at her, and I was sitting in between them, thinking, "This is how I die."
Suddenly there was another knock on the door. It was a friend of theirs inviting them to a party. All animosity evaporated in a moment. I went home. They went to the party. Cool.
They got divorced and moved away. Months later Tom knocked on my door. He wanted to let me know we were neighbors again. He moved in at the end of the block. Also, did I know where Carol was, because he's going to hunt her down and kill her!
A few days later Carol knocked on my door. She wanted to know if there were any apartments available on the street. I strongly discouraged her from moving aback to the old neighborhood.

oh my god that one about being stuck nipple deep in the fucking snow!!! So terrifying!! I think I may have a form of claustrophobia ( I know this is specifically afraid of tight spaces )or something cause I’m so terrified of not being able to breathe. Like I start to get panic attacks when my nose is stuffy or sometimes if i vomit I get this ball in my throat and I feel like my throat is gonna close and I can’t breathe. or if I have a piece of clothing on me ( mostly like a shirt or jacket) that is to tight or a zipper is stuck or sum, I’ll get anxiety about that cause I’ll start to think I can’t breathe,Or if I’m in one of those cars that doesn’t have doors to the backseats, I get anxiety bc I start to think about getting in a car crash n the car gets smushed in a way where I’m stuck in the back n have no way to get out. I can’t even imagine my whole body being encased in snow 😩

Snowmobiling in a blizzard, dropping temperature down to 2°F, at night, with only 1/4 tank of fuel.....with friends, was blast though with fresh snow drifts, but after awhile couldn't see could find direction of which way we were headed untill we hit a black top road and it had 8 inches of snow on it so we just road Snowmobiles on the snow packed black top till we got back to friends house

Read up on it. Inform yourself of any potential issues, then monitor yourself while one it. That's what I do with any medication I take - and knowing even the more rare possibilities actually saved my life once (it felt like my body was shutting itself down. Told the doc, he sent me to the ER for faster lab response... it had, indeed, started causing liver & kidney problems, and I was only a few doses away from complete kidney/liver failure). But, I also listen to my doc, take my meds as prescribed. I just give myself the gift of knowledge by reading up on things, knowing that the reaction I had to that one medication was a 1 in a million chance. Most of the time, I might get 1 or 2 of the "common" side effects and it passes in a day or two. Knowing the med is why I'm nauseated or have a headache or why I suddenly have a dry mouth... it helps me not freak out wondering what ELSE is going on.
So... read, inform yourself, keep it in the back of your mind, and know that you're better prepared than most to handle whatever side effects the meds can create.
And... it helps to buffer NSAIDS like naproxyn with crackers, bread, whatever, to help coat & protect your stomach lining. =D

In 2010 I walked up to wild leopard in the born free center SA that was going to be re-release d back onto the reserve after getting injured by a hyena clan. I went up to her, she saw me coming and layer down not reacting at all until I stuck my hand through the wire fence and started rubbing behind her ears and rubbing her belly when she started to purr and linked my hand... could've gone bad but for some reason this wild leopard trusted me... photos on Fb.
