It's not just Totemic Might, it's any card Gallywix considers bad. I've gotten that message a few times - can't remember what cards I was playing, though. If you play something really good, he'll say "Oh, this was worth it. So worth it." And when he plays it, he'll say "Honestly, I've got you to thank for this one."
Don‘t know the boss right now but there is one that gives you and himself a random golden legendary. He gave me a golden Doctor Boom and said something like: „No, no, not this one“, and switched it with his golden legendary.
