Thank you for inspiring my family to begin praying about homeschooling. And not just homeschooling but I feel like I have cultivated a more loving relationship w my kids. Truly. Some tools really have helped.
We actually did start homeschooling this year. Our oldest of four is 1st grade and we pulled him out of public school. So now our 6 and 4 half year old are doing school at home together. We are happy with switch. Found a great bible based curriculum. And are plugging into our local homeschool coop. Thank you again for your transparency in your struggles and prayers and journaling. My fav video is your prayer journal talked about being up in night with little ones. I cried bc I am not alone. Touched my exhausted mama heart. Blessings thanks for sharing

Yes! I don't want to spend all my time with my kids shuttling them around! And it's just unneeded stress being so busy that you can't be still. *sigh. Extras are "extras" for a reason....you don't need them. (But always with a caveat of....unless the Lord asks me to do it) Thanks for sharing! ❤

Also, I started VIPKID over the summer, where do you have your set up? Do you have a lot of props that you use? Between homeschooling, tutoring, and VIPKID I feel like my home is being overtaken with "stuff" lol

I feel the same way with extracurricular activities. My oldest is only in Kindergarten but he has taken to swimming and that's what we are investing in. I also do not want to be running around here and there all the time. I like to be home!!

I love the way you do extra curricular activities! I'm trying to change over to that way of doing it.
My oldest son was born early and in the NICU. My husband started reading to him while he was there. We've continued reading to him almost daily since. He is now 13 and reads, reads, reads. Several chapter books a week.

I loved the, "I Don't Care!" Yes!!! So true! And i love that dont have your kids in everything. I sometimes feel like I should have them involved in more but like you, I dont want to spend my days shuttling. I also dont want that busyness. I want to invest in something they enjoy that they enjoy and like you said are gifted in but to learn something they could use later on. For instance, my oldest is going to take sewing lessons. She would also like to learn piano and guitar. So I feel like I would love to invest in those because she could use that learned trade, if you will, in her home to bring some extra income because ultimately she wants to be wife and mother. Teach piano lessons, sewing lessons, guitar lessons all from her home if need be! Love your thoughts!

If you love historical biographies and Francine Rivers then you will LOVE the book perpetua by Amy Rachel Peterson. It is about the third century christian martyr perpetua and some of the book is actually taken directly from her journal that was found! So it's like a blend of a historical biography and fiction. You would love it! It's my favorite book!

May I ask, why would you like to not do VIP anymore?
I would like to be able to spend my early morning hours (like right now ;) ) doing something I'm passionate about like working on my UA-cam channel (responding to all these sweet comments!). I enjoy VIPKID, but I'm not passionate about it :) It's also nice for me to be able to use my early morning hours to pick up around the house and do my devotionals before the kids wake up.
