The JOHAN CRUYFF ARENA, officially stylised as Johan Cruijff ArenA, is the main stadium of the Dutch capital city of Amsterdam and the home stadium of football club AFC Ajax since its opening. Built from 1993 to 1996 at a cost equivalent to €140 million,[3] it is the largest stadium in the country. The stadium was previously known as the Amsterdam Arena (stylised as Amsterdam ArenA) until the 2018-19 football season, when it was officially renamed in honour of Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff (1947-2016) who died in March 2016.
It was one of the stadiums used during UEFA Euro 2000, and also held the 1998 UEFA Champions League Final and 2013 UEFA Europa League Final. The stadium also hosted three group stage matches and one match in the round of 16 of the UEFA Euro 2020.
De Johan Cruijff Arena, officieel gestileerd als Johan Cruijff ArenA, is het belangrijkste stadion van de Nederlandse hoofdstad Amsterdam en sinds de opening het thuisstadion van voetbalclub AFC Ajax. Het werd tussen 1993 en 1996 gebouwd voor een bedrag van € 140 miljoen[3] en is het grootste stadion van het land. Het stadion stond voorheen bekend als de Amsterdam Arena (gestileerd als Amsterdam ArenA) tot het voetbalseizoen 2018-2019, toen het officieel werd hernoemd ter ere van de in maart 2016 overleden Nederlandse voetballer Johan Cruijff (1947-2016).
Het was een van de stadions die werden gebruikt tijdens UEFA Euro 2000 en waar ook de UEFA Champions League-finale van 1998 en de UEFA Europa League-finale van 2013 plaatsvonden. Het stadion organiseerde ook drie groepsfasewedstrijden en één wedstrijd in de achtste finales van het UEFA Euro 2020.

1996年当時世界最新鋭の開閉屋根スタジアム。その美しさとフットボールを観る事を見事にアップグレードしながらアヤックスに相応しい世界に誇るスタジアムでありますね。
このスタジアムの下に高速道路があるってのも当時から驚きでした。

Помнится в 1998 году московский Спартак вынес на этом стадионе Аякс 3:1. И потом ещё не раз делал это. В общем об этом стадионе приятные воспоминания. Спасибо за обзор.

LOvely stadium, esp when built. A little small tho for a city like Amsterdam and a club like Ajax... plus as a national stadium. I wonder if/when an 80k or so rebuild will be done.

The stadium looks much better after the seating was changed to red. Now it feels more like a Ajax stadium. Beforehand it looked horrible with all the different coloured seats.
