My dad is half Norwegian, and when he and my mom were still dating in the ‘70’s he read a psychology book my mom had about treating patients from countries outside the US. The book said one thing for a therapist to assume about a Norwegian is that they have a drinking problem. I guess there’s some truth to that statement about how Norwegians behave differently when they’re sober vs drunk.

Drinking culture here is so stupid though.
Its so fucking expensive. A bottle of Absolut in Norway is 46 dollars, and if you are going out, expect to pay 15-20 bucks for a standard drink.
So people get shitfaced at some friends party, head out to the town at 22:00, drink even more, head home to someone when bars close to continue the party, and then head home at 04:00.
Plus, our hours of light is fucked, anecdotally it seems the constant darkness has some effect.
In scandinavia we are soo trusting its crazy, we literally leave our babies outside when they need a nap xD

The only thing that seemed odd was the way they explained taco fridays and pizza Saturdays. They dont always eat those foods no matter what right?
Taco fridays are common, as they usually sell taco stuff cheaper on fridays.
Pizza is normal on saturdays, but not the frozen pizza grandiosa. Most people make homemade pizza on saturdays, as frozen pizza is mostly common on weekdays. But Lasagna, steak or other delicious food is also common on saturdays as well.

Yeah, taco fridays are actually pretty much mandatory in the nordic countries. Pizza saturdays are absolutely not a thing to the same extent as taco fridays. Pancake thursdays are a thing as well, at least in some places.
It's perfect, three days each week where you don't have to think about what you're gonna eat.

@@AD-lh3jk My first memories of taco Fridays are from mid-late 2000's. We started with them at about 2008 maybe, but I know some families had already been doing them for a few years.
The pancake Thursdays here are probably way older, we had them at school like once a month during the 90's, and at my former workplace I know they still have them every week.

I can tell you that grandiose frozen pizza day isn't just a thing in Norway but also in this Dutch household. I prefer frozen pizza over most freshly made ones, except the proper Napels-style pizzas, nothing beats the original. Screw you domino's.
