She was so so nervous and emotional. Haven't seen her like this for a really long time. The only win for TAR tonight. Somehow reminds me of the night Olivia won the oscar. Also represents the only win for an underawarded masterpiece.

@@Marc-13 no she doesn't. As I write this, she has at least one movie (Borderlands) and one series (Disclaimer) coming out in nearest future and in both she's either Lead or one of the Leads. And she never announced "quitting", so she certainly will be making more after that too.

This however seemed legitimate and it also seemed to be out of the political woke liberal garbage that has been so filthy these days on film and TV the man hating, berating garbage from so many places, disny being at the top. Cate totally deserves this, she is a beautiful lady, and epic actress, she is Galadrial and doesnt she is a fine role model to me, a tough canadian boxer from the street. She is always top notch and I am so glad they didnt "diversify her award" and give it out to someone else as I know she deserves all and any award in anything to do with acting, she is by far my favorite actress and I am so happy to hear her say something so great like" we checked our egos at the door" man humilty from hollywood is a rare beautiful gift. She has worked hard and deserves her champagne and caviar tonight!!

Stop with the “Michelle was robbed”. Clearly you’re not a regular film award watcher. Unlike the Oscar, BAFTA doesn’t give award to “the most fun plot” or “diversity of character”. It is performance-based.
If you want diversity representation award or “she doesn’t have an Oscar yet, it would do so much for her career” award. Just wait for the Oscar for that, lately they are a slave to public perception enough to hear your case and grant it.

BAFTA is far and beyond more objective for international actors and actress than most realize.
Since they combined the British and Foreign categories in 1968 non Brits have dominated while the Oscars have an agenda for lifetime achievement, comeback narrative and people playing someone with a disability.
Just this year at BAFTA Austin Butler and Cate Blanchett both won, and Butler was against highly acclaimed British Bill Nighy, and even though Colin Farrell isn't UK, The Banshees of Inisherin was a UK production and had won best British Film. If BAFTA was viewed less than professionally impartial, Brendan Fraser wouldn't have made the trip for his nomination.
Including Butler, Blanchett and Will Smith last year who beat 3 Brits, at 45 of the entire 55 applicable ceremonies at least one non UK person won, and most were head to head against UK competition.
11 times they didn't even nominate a UK person in at least one of the lead acting categories, and twice they didn't do it for either one of the male or female groups, and that happened in consecutive years.
BAFTA has also awarded non Brits over the likes of British legends Emma Thompson (3 times) Ralph Fiennes (3 times) Michael Caine, Lawrence Olivier, Sean Connery and Peter O'Toole

Prince & Princess of Wales, William & Catherine, looked gorgeous and quite the fashion leaders. Both, were dressed to impress and as usual, did so with great class & ease. Prince William was handsome and sexy while the Princess brought the Old Hollywood Glamour! They stole the set te bar and stole show. As an American and as a huge fan, I was thrilled to see them arrive with their usual elegance as well as placing themselves in the fashion forward or in this case, reviving the ‘Old Elegance’ Front position. Simple perfection with absolute beauty. I’m sure everyone is very proud of them tonight as they have cemented London as the Place to be for Fashion! Each time I think they’ve reached the height of their fashion sense, they raise the bar and again reach the stars. My compliments to them and to everyone who designed, sewed, fitted, guided & advised them on such perfectly wonderful selections and choices. A wonderful Night for Fashion and for the Prince and Princess of Wales. Congratulations to all the nominees and to each Winner. It’s wonderful and well deserved to see the BAFTAS celebrated on such a magical ceremony & evening. Thank you for making the World a little more beautiful place in which to live. Where would we all be with the Magic? 👏👏👏 🌟✨ 🏆🇺🇸❤ 🇬🇧

The Golden Globes and BAFTA are too good to be seen as, and never were, traditional precursors to the agenda based Oscars. When they line up with the Oscars it is purely coincidental because of what each voting body primarily represents, that being The Golden Globes - International voters from around the world, The BAFTAs - voters from the United Kingdom and The Oscars - voters from the United States.
The Golden Globes and BAFTA have always been prestigious stand alone awards. BAFTA's ceremony has only preceeded the Oscars for 20 years. For over 50 years the Oscars could be called a precursor to BAFTA.
Critics Choice and SAG are more precursors because they are American voters.
This explains why outside of the U.S. Critics Choice and SAG don't make a single list of important film awards on a world scale, because people only look to the Oscars for what the U.S. thinks, and that Critics Choice and SAG have only been around since 1995 and 1996.
The Golden Globes (1944) BAFTA (1949) along with the Oscars (1929) all make every list of not only significant global film awards, but awards in general, including the Grammy, Nobel and Pulitzer.
If you win the Oscar, and you also won Critics Choice and/or SAG for the same role or film etc, the Oscar is just a greater extension of those wins. But if you win an Oscar, Golden Globe and/or BAFTA, it's much more like winning multiple awards.
Same as if you win Critics Choice and/or SAG but not the Oscar, you're far more empty handed in the eyes of the masses than had you won a Golden Globe and/or BAFTA but not the Oscar. In that scenario you've still won one or more worldwide prestigious trophies
