Thanks for making these videos. I've done a few VF500Fs before, but watching your vids to see how the VFR700 differs is very helpful. I like the tag method for marking the carburetors so you can identify which is which after the ultrasonic washes away the sharpie marks.
Thanks. I got that idea from what we used to do with long runs of hydraulic hoses on fire trucks, when replacing them at a fire apparatus repair facility. I'd make the tags out washers, stamping the ID of the hose (whatever it was) and securing with either mechanics wire or plastic zip ties. Cheers.
@@MotoRestoFL I think I'll do something similar before they get dunked. I imagine I'm going to find some... not so fun things in this carburetor. Considering some of the stuff I've already found on the bike and the fact I see aftermarket fuel lines and other items, I'm skeptical. Normally I'd buy all my stuff before starting (Billys Outback used to sell amazing full kits--his site is a little different now, emailed him). I kept looking at the rear tire thinking.. god that's weird. That rear tire looks as wide as my SV650's 160/60, and the VFR should be a 130/80. Well, what do you know, somebody managed to stick a 160 18" rear on the damn thing. The profile looks hilarious, lol. But yea, thanks for the videos man. Nice to hear (in your next vid) that the K&L valves worked for you. I've had issues with those in two bikes recently getting the float heights correct. Gives me some confidence that they'll work if I'm forced to go with them.
I just checked, they are in order, newest to oldest videos. That's typically how playlists work, because the older videos get "stacked" (for lack of a better word) on top of the older. You watched them backwards. Video 2 is clearly identified as such. Cheers.
I worked on electro/ mechanical things for 40 years, am in the the process of buying my 3rd Honda V-4, and this makes my head hurt :) Lol.. I did say a prayer, Our Father, who are in Honda.... Wait, you have Italian batteries , " Betteria" ?
It’s really not that bad, broken down into parts. One carb at a time gets rebuilt, set aside. The focus on the common parts like linkages and such. Then assemble what can be done and start putting the puzzle back together. Thanks for watching and commenting.
There’s many parts on that bike, I just reorganized all the playlists it should be there. It might not actually say part 3, but they are in chronological order… or they were.

These two teardown episodes came in the wrong order in Your playlist.
