I wish I had the same attitude towards life as you guys. I worry too much about trivial things; I know I shouldn't but can't help. I too hung up on materialistic pursuit. And ironically, I realize fully well that ultimately being happy and enjoying the finer moments of your life with your loved ones is what actually counts at the end of the day.

You guys are living like our hunter/gatherer nomad ancestors did before we became settled farmers and became detached from nature. Getting in touch with humanities origins...must be amazing! :)

As someone who never throws food away, cannot believe the plethora in that dumpster. Only taking 2 beers though, strong! That sixer is coming with me no doubts.

I can't believe it as well. Rich people have high standarts so they trow everything that isn't perfect... After all they can afort new one. But that shows so much ignorance about poor countries. But now in 2021 with UA-cam everybody can see the world without living home. So they must be more careful what they show.

Today is 15Jun2020 - I am watching this post. You, I think, have taken a ferry from Sweden to the town in Denmark where my Grandfather was born, Helsingør. I have been there once, on holiday from the USA. His father took the family from Helsingør, to Butte, Montana, USA in the 1940's sometime.
I just found it video and now started to watch from first video..love it

that's some crazy dumpster diving finds, some people throw away too much. strange they trow away so much and if it's still possible to safely eat it.

hi David, the rain jackets, are very light 180 gram, they are almost 100% water proof. but wouldn't buy it again for sure, those light weight jackets are not durable at all :)

@@Leon-un8jy hi in what way, i have to be honest I am not there biggest fan, I have had gortex before and they seem to be hit or miss, this one gets rather damp inside, though i am sure evans cycles will tell me its condensation, if its going to piss down I put it on but have a rain cape over it .
The roadkill harvest is over the top Here in Montana we have tons of it. Only Mexicans take it. You guys are the bomb. Dude, Take ALL the beer !! skip the mango, beer goes perfect with roadkill ! No need for all that ginger either. You guys crack me up ! Matilda, hang on to this dude, you never go hungry with him !!
😂😂 we are in, Montana sounds very good! but good if people take the road kills it is really waste other wise also it attracts other animals to the road which is a another problem. we really like Mango and ginger not big fan of beer, but a small glass of Rum can be nice with the road kill😉

Some mushrooms are very toxic. Did you do research before picking them from the wild?? Any suggestions for others in this regard??
Mushroom picking is a common hobby in Finland, and we both grew up doing it with our families so we know the common edible ones since we were kids 😊But you are right, you should only pick mushrooms if you are sure you know what you are doing.

I like the videos, and I am still not getting over feeling squeamish everytime you look in a dumpster for extra food. I think I've been conditioned by society that trash equals unhealthy. You're proving otherwise, but I still can't help my squeamishness every time I watch you do it. :)

Hi, 😊, unfortunately shops throw a lots of good food to dumpster in Europe for different reasons. That is the story.
@@NomadsTrails Even when I was living in Orlando, the supermarkets would have a section of food that is almost expiring (like in a day). If we know food stuff, we can judge if the expiry date on a certain product was decided overly cautiously or not. So, you DO need to know your food stuff and their typical lifespan and how to judge if they are going bad.
AND the dumpster thing here is only cuz its in europe (i really hope) and only the stuff that big supermarkets throw out. I'd choose only the sealed stuff. Our beloved couple here attacked the mangoes and tomatoes in the bin too, which was a bit scary for me =)
Ppl dumpster dive in USA I first learned it on Oprah show years ago. I think they call themselves Freelanders?

JJ JJ 😂😂😂 that moment was so funny (thankfully, it could have ended bad 😅). We love rescuing food, but hopefully shops will get so good at managing food waste that there won't be anything left for us 😉
by the way in germany... ask in supermarkets for fruits and salad on saturdays befor the shop closed

why people in europ throw good food in trash ?
That's a very good question. The trashcans we take food from belong to supermarkets. Sometimes they throw food away because it has gone bad, but often it is only because it is past the "best before" day, so they are not allowed to sell it anymore. And sometimes it is only because the packaging is damaged or even only that they had too much of the same product.
