I like how approachable Can Ams are. I have a Ryker Rally and I felt like I was able to ride it competently after a few minutes on it with no motorcycle experience. Not having to balance it while I sit in slow traffic is awesome, IMO. Sure, it’s no Hayabusa but it’s great enough for riding around when I don’t feel like driving my car into the city.

Bought a Ryker 900 Rally last summer, 13000 km later I’m just switching over to a F3s and looking forward to this summer. A fantastic machine that gives you the freedom to explore the world (limits by water but BRP have Seadoo for that)😉

F3 can be optioned with aftermarket saddle bags and an adjustable passenger back rest for a passenger and additional storage. With these options it is still cheaper that the F3T and that is with a wind shield on the F3S as well.

The Spyder needs more power! Every bike on the market has seen an increase in power over the years and yet this has remained the same for more than a decade. I know that many people will say hooligans won't choose this, they will go for a traditional bike, but I would like to see at least one model (the F3-S) get a bump to 150hp.

The riding experience on a trike is really different from a two wheel motorcycle. The Can-Am steers like a car. To go right you turn the bars right. You steer a two wheel motorcycle above 5-10 mph by counter steering, that is you go right by pushing the bar with your right arm or left by pushing with your left arm. I would love for TFL to test a Piaggio tilting three wheel bike and compare it to the Can-Am and a conventional two wheel motorcycle.

Yeah, it feels weird to completely let go of motorcycle / bicycle riding technique. Shifting your center of gravity no longer matters, it's just like a car or an ATV.
Not my cup of tea, but I get why people like em.

0-60 MPH in 4.8 seconds. I have an F3-S, plus three bikes and a scooter, and this is just as much fun as any of them.

I had a 2020 F3 LT. Mostly liked it until I had a stone get caught in the drive belt. $530.00 later I had a new belt installed. It was OK over bumps unless there was a series of bumps one after another like going over a double railroad crossing. Then it lost it's composure and became hard to handle.

I always felt that avoiding bumps and potholes on these would be difficult. If you can't go around it you'll either hit it with your front or rear wheel.
Was that much of a concern when out on the road?

Rode my 2018 F3 Limited from Pennsylvania to Alaska this past summer...Gravel roads with washboard in the Yukon and Alaska were rough! I'm talking several hundred miles total. It was tough handing...I just had to ride slowly. That wasn't fun but it sure is fun everywhere else! I have a video on my channel where very experienced 2 wheeled riders have tried riding my Spyder in California, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Colorado. Check it out for their reactions. Not going to be what you think.... I've ridden mine in 49 states in 4 years, over 70,000 miles. I own a car AND an ATV and it rides like neither 😁💜🤗

@@volvo09most objects and potholes can be avoided by swerving or lining up the hole between your front wheel and knee. My hubby usually rides in front of me on his Harley Ultra Limited and can warn me sometimes through our Senas of whether to go left or right of a pothole or road debris....unless we're in the Yukon or Alaska 😅🤷‍♀️..
      See my other comment lol

Everything you have said, is exactly what I have been telling people since I got one. I enjoy my two wheel bikes very much , but this is also make a fun and different ride experience. I use mine for touring comfort when going state to state.

I have a ryker and a indian ftr sport .I love them both for what they are and the ryker can hang with most sport bikes once you upgrade the performance . I will say that its not for everyone , but , you could say that about most motorcycles as well .

I've been riding motorcycles for just over 50 years. I've ridden the Harley Trike and the Can-Am. If I were going to buy a trike, it would be the Can-Am but honestly, I'm just not a fan of vehicles with an odd number of wheels.

You are correct, it does not ride like a 2 wheel motorcycle. It has a totally different riding experience. Go at it as a entirely new type of vehicle and you will appreciate it more.

Love the Rotax engine in these, but overall riding experience makes me think I'd be better off in a convertible cage like a Miata. Fun-to-weight ratio would be about the same along with similar lean angles 😂. Great ride for someone who isn't made for two wheels!

The roots of the spyders is a direct parallel to a snowmobile. We all know how not fun snowmobiles are (sarcasm) I design and build spyder like conversions and my first question to new owners is "have you ridden snowmobiles or ATV's?" If so no further instruction is required. Many life long MC riders panic when riding a trike the first time. there is no comparison between back wheel and front wheel trikes. Ever wonder why there is not one three wheeled car in the US with the wheels on the rear? A front wheel trike is highly stable compared. CanAm has done well, but it would be nice if they dumped all the electronic granny controls. Front wheel trikes are defiantly sporty

Or.... maybe you'll be trying to keep up with her 😉😁 I'm just joking but I can beat my hubby in the 1/4 mile on his 2018 HD Ultra Limited with my 2018 F3 Limited... paddle shifter is a lot quicker than a clutch. After the 1/4 mile that big ol HD goes a bit faster... usually 😂

This thing (I don't know how called it), is interesting, but I would like to know the differences between this and an Harley trike. Is the latter easier or maybe harder or completely different to ride? I'm sure you've ridden an Harley trike before, so you can definitely talk about it, thanks. Sorry, you've already talked about, my bad. Thanks for the video

    • @PurpleOnThree

The Spyders are much easier to steer as they have power assist and they are much, much less likely to tip in corners. I let a friend with a trike try my Spyder because after long rides on his trike, his shoulders would ache. He could feel the difference right away is what he said.

I had 1 started on 1 due to medical conditions. It was fun then went to a GW and hated it and now I'm on a Pursuit and I am in love with my pursuit.
I believe the can am has a purpose some day I am sure I will be back on 1 when my knees give out.
I believe it's great for folks who have medical issues and want to fell the wind and experience riding

Its like racism. Once you stop comparing one race with another you can be honest again and speak about the differences. And you can enjoy people and races for who they are without asking them to be the same as you or whoever, so you can say they are not. The spyder is amazing. But iss doess not beelong tot the sstandard catagory of motorcicle. I've done 2 weels for years and 3 wheels spyder for now only 4 years. I love both but I love the Spyder 3 weels over 2 wheels. It's more comfortable but not less work. Your wider. You have to be extra alert. Overtaking isnt that eassy but as a lifetime rider I will. So specialy if i join a goep of 2 wheels I have te be extra quick and keep my whits. Supeer thing is. Nothing is as fast in a curvee as this. No car no bike no way!!. This sticks to the road like nothing else. And if it rains? I don't care cos i can fall over. I micht slide to the side but will neever fall over. I love thiss machine and leeft many 2 wheels eating dust in my mountain driving. Its easy and a beast. No 2 wheels have gotten me feel this good for so long ever. And there is only one way to find out if you might feeeel the same. Try one. Ride one. Not one persson I know that has riden one did not come back with a smile wider then their face. Try it! Try it! Dont miss out cos "its not a motorcicle" things being said around you.
