For those wondering about the mission across Wales: Editing is going well, but is slow. Not only i am new to this type of editing, but i am also trying to balance my editing time with geoguessr, my job, my band and then seeing family / friends / girlfriend. The footage is sick, and i am hopeful that it will entertain you all. I am almost done with the first episode out of about 4 or 5, however I want to release them all in succession, weekly, so i need to edit pretty much all of them before i can start releasing them. Realistically It will probably be at least 2 months from now. I appreciate all of your support, I couldn't have done the trip without you. Please be patient with me and you will be rewarded with an epic series. In the mean time i will do my best to entertain you with the Geoguessr vids. Much love, Tom.
A little bit help about cyrillic. If you can't be shure if it is russia or ukraine: If there letters є, ї, i - it's ukraine ё, ъ, ы, э - it's russia (unless it's russian language in ukraine, so it's not works 100% vice versa)
No worries tom, take your time with the videos; I want them to be the best they can be. But, I genuinely think you would benefit from learning a little bit about the languages of some of the countries (Russian vs Ukrainian, Swedish vs Finnish, Malay vs Indonesian)
If you suspect you’re in New Zealand and you aren’t in a city or town, look at the side of the road. There will almost always be posts with red bits at the top. They’re everywhere here.
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about there also hear in Australia. But I'm guessing there more common in NZ. Ignor the subject of the links I'm just using them for the photos. www.abc.net.au/news/2016-10-21/roadside-memorial/7950306?pfm=ms www.transport.tas.gov.au/roadsafety/roads/cam
One tip how to separate Finland and Sweden. In 12:36 if you look at the road that can not be a Finnish road. We never have those "dotted lines" of white in the side of the road. It's either nothing (small roads) or continuous white line. The middle of the road in Finland is very similar what it is in 19:46 . Middle of the road in Finland is either dotted white line, continuous yellow line with white dotted line in one side or double continuous yellow line. Also in the last one. That forest road did not look like Finnish forest road. It's hard to say why but usually forest roads in Finland have more gravel in it. It's not 100% rule but that road looked a bit too "sandy" for my eye to be in Finland.
Amazing, on the Slovak guess I was immediately like: This is the motherland 100%. And then you went and guessed my home town of 16K. Funny coincidence., even though it was Orava. But to be honest, both regions look extremely similar. You really have amazing skill. It's one thing for me to be able to tell my home country, but for a Briton to do so with such accuracy is really admirable. Good job!
Just a tip when deciding South Africa vs Australia. South African houses are mainly walled unless in black communities and you will never see nice cars parked on the street. Due to crime being so bad, if you left your car on the street it would be stolen within 10 minutes 👍
So close!! But I‘ve loved this round, it was a perfect inside into your experience, knowledge and skill!! Especially the Slovakia and Africa guesses were insane!! Can‘t wait for new 10 country challenge videos but at first get well soon mate!
Always excited to see your video pop out in my notifications. Always loved the 10 country challenge and still enjoy them more than other youtube content. Keep up the good work
Fun fact: When you said the cars in the Malaysian round don't really matter you're actually quite wrong lol, as Malaysia actually has 2 home-grown car brands/manufacturers, namely Proton (logo is a shield with a Malayan Tiger head on it) and Perodua (logo is like Toyota's but replace the middle with a cursive P). We do export these cars to some countries, but the majority are sold in Malaysia (not even much in Indonesia or Thailand lol), so you can bet it's Malaysia if you see those cars. I was quite excited when Malaysia came up in the first round as it's quite rare for you to get them 😂 I hope you return making these Geoguessr vids after you're done with your IRL Vlogs/Challenges! Keep it up!
New series idea: time challenge for a perfect score on world/diverse world etc. The catch is that you can use google to look up buildings or city names from street signs so you can see how quickly you can get a perfect score!
I want to go on a vacation with you. I feel if we ever got too drunk and woke up in some random country all we would have to do is walk around the closest town and in about 20 minutes you would know exactly where we are Lol. Love the vids man your geography knowledge amazes me.
Good tip for cyrillic scripts is that when you see letter J(same as in latin) in it it is either Serbian or Macedonian. Serbs borrowed it from latin alphabet, no other cyrillic alphabet has that.
Those last couple of rounds would be all unwinnable for me - no flag or nothing. Don't get how you do that. And of course the hardest had to be the 10th.
I am stunned by your skills of guessing these countries. Is that all from playing Geoguessr or do you have more geographical backgrounds, like teaching or traveling? Cheers man, you helped me buy Geoguessr.
I could tell your first Australian one was Tasmania. I've never been to Tasmania, nor have I been outside of North America. It just had a bogan sort of vibe
Nice video! There are lots of clues to be picked up on including the license plate colors (the black plates in R1 are Malaysian or Indonesian), road markings (the dotted lines are Swedish) and color of road poles (the white poles with red stripes are NZ). I'd rather watch a long silence as you look around the map than have you speed bits up. Just my take. Either way, I am entertained by your videos. My friends and I used to play this all the time in high school.
Humungus_Fungus he's currently editing them up- it's a massive project. He wants to release them consecutively so he needs to edit them all before releasing them
Why is your volume so much quieter than every other video on youtube, i end up deafening myself when the next video comes one. glutton for punishment because i do it everytime and keep coming back.
Im from estonia and was screaming at the screen at 9th country that it is estonia. Finland generally doesnt have gravel roads like that and russia is not as clean. Couldve been latvia but gut feeling said estonia.
"Laisdalen" is definitely not a Finnish name, dal means valley / dale in Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, and -en is the definite article, which is part of place names in those languages, so having a name ending in -dalen is a very strong hint you're in one of those countries.

If you're going to release them in 2 months then, statistically, one of us will probably die before you upload it.
Heads up: No video this Wednesday. Too Ill. Apologies, see you Friday.

I usually guess NZ because of the yellow line in the middle of the road. Don't do that much in Aus, it's for areas where it snows.
