I'm from Thunder Bay Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 and I grew up fishing kekabeka falls.....2nd highest falls in Ontario...speckled trout fishing at its finest....a bad day fishing...is better than a good day at work 😀
I need to look into tenkara fishing, Been interested for many years but been busy with life and now that I’m getting back into fly fishing and found your channel, I need to do this.
Jeesshh...such colorful trout! And the scenery!! So well captured and shared! Thanks for input on rods...havent committed on any one model yet. I suspect I'll have more then one for whatever conditions I meet...
Cool idea, catching trout on tenkara in every county.part of the fun for me is just planning, blue lining and plotting my course. And Martin is right, that looks like a lot the water I find I South Central Pa.
I'm impressed that you are able to net the fish so easily with the short reach net. I often have major challenges with the long line and bent pole netting with short nets. I envy your environment Utah is one of my favorite states.
Great video. which Dragontail would your recommend the Mutant or the Mizuchi? I fish small streams in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. Soon to fish the Adirondacks.
@@KevinM491 I’m delighted with it! Rarely fish it at the shortest length, but I’ve been to rivers of all sizes with it and it never disappoints. Lovely casting action.
I have a little creek in Vermont that’s very mossy and the brookies have black mouths like that. I think it’s stain from smashing bugs in the moss all day.
Your videos are so inspiring thank you! I bought this rod today. I’m amazed by how beautiful our lands are. Thank you for documenting that!!!! Are these public lands!? I’m from the north east and I would love to visit and explore
I hope to do one in the next couple of weeks. This was filmed a couple of months ago, and since then I've caught ~250 fish with it. In short, it's a great rod. It casts well in the longest and middle lengths. Doesn't cast super well in the shortest length, but at that length you're probably going to be bow and arrow casting anyway, and the shortest length is good at that. It's an excellent small stream rod. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if you fish small streams.
Not sure exactly where you were when you caught the first Cutt, but it looked a lot like the Raft River Range (George Creek/ Onemile Creek/ Johnson Creek). That area is native to Yellowstone Cutthroat. That fish looked a lot like a Yellowstone Cutt to me... Thanks for the video!
If you had to pick between the mizuchi or shadow fire 365 what would you lean towards? Rock creek in blue ridge north Georgia is where I’ll start off. It can go from small creeks to slightly larger and deeper areas with logs creating havens for them. It’d be my first tenkara as well
what kind s of cameras are you using. one on your head and one in the water on a metal base. and what softwear for editing. you pictures are so very clear. please tell all about your camera gear . thanks. put them in your gear used link. please
Great video! I just discovered your channel recently and would like some advice on which tenkara rod to purchase. I have decided to purchase from Tenkara USA because of their warranty and buy either the Iwana or Sato rod and the starter kit. I am new to tenkara and have always fished rod and reel with bait or lures. I will save $80 with the Iwana (12 ft.), but if I buy the Sato I can extend it to various lengths (10’8”, 11’10”, 12’9”). Any advice you have would be great. Also, I will mostly be fishing in the Eastern Sierra in California and various streams and creeks in LA and Ventura Counties in the LA area.
I'm having a hard time deciding between the Mizuchi and the Rhonda from Tenkara USA. I'll be fishing a lot in the Southern Appalachians with heavy cover and some medium size water with pretty big browns, occasionally 20+ inches. This will be my first Tenkara and I'd like a quality rod with versatility. Any thoughts that might help me decide between the two?
I like them both, but if I had to choose one, it'd be the Mizuchi. It's better for handling bigger fish, but it's not as sensitive for smaller fish as the Suzume.
Great rod. If you're consistently catching mostly small fish (like sub-6 inches), it's not ideal, but if you're catching medium and big fish, it's great.

Good times! Last creek was great, definitely one to come back to it looks like.
I'll be going back there for sure. Thanks Gerald.

Thanks for watching 👍
Perfect way to break in the new rod! Great specimen.
Thanks!
Not all creeks are created equal...good to know. Could have played "The Heat is On", Glenn Frey in the background! Thanks for sharing.

1st like 😍
Thanks 4 sharing your impressions on the mizuchi
I really appreciate how well you handle the fish! I hate seeing people handle fish poorly. Much respect from the Catskills!
Thanks!
Completely agree. I'm really more of an outdoorsman than fisherman but it'd even clear to the novice I that you respect the fish.
Beautiful! I dig that mizuchi rod!
It's a really great little rod 👍👍

I don’t suppose you bought the Mizuchi? I just ordered one.
@@superdeluxesmell you guys got some reviews? i just bought one as well lol

I have been looking into buying the mizuchi zx340 for the small mountain streams here! It looks like a great rod

@@TenkaraAddict just a theory obviously I really have no clue lol.

You should make a review video for that rod. I’m looking to get it soon and would love to see what you think about it and all of its lengths.

Nope, not in the Raft River Range and not a YCT. I have fished the RRR before to finish up my Utah Cutthroat Slam, though. Thanks for watching 👍
I got that Rod on kickstarter, its a beauty.
Phew! Just ordered one. 😂

FF to Oct 2022. Is that creek still holding water?
Great fishing! That first brookie had some amazing colors! Beautiful cutthroat as well.
That was a cutthroat. You're not familiar with bear river cutthroats are you?
Wow!!!
Enjoy your videos. Great music as well. Maybe you could cite the music.
What flies are you using?
Fly info is listed in the video description. Thanks for watching.
How well do you like this rod and what’s your go to line
Are there trout streams in every Utah county?
Another great tenkara fishing video brother..I fish small mtn creeks with mine for red ears and small bass here in Arkansas
Sounds like a good time!

The main camera on my head is the GoPro Hero7 Black. To edit the videos I use Adobe Premiere Pro. Thanks for watching.
I noticed the line wrapped on the handle at the end. What was the black thing it was wrapped on?

If you'll be fishing small streams and creeks, I'd go with an adjustable rod. Have fun!

Nice tenkara fishing ❗
Similar Yamame(山女魚)
from Japan ✌
Thanks! I'd love to fish for yamame in Japan sometime 👍🇯🇵
Nice! And great music with the drone footage! What song is it?
Thanks! The song is Tumbleweed Texas by Chris Haugen.
@@TenkaraAddict Thanks for the info!
Nice video! Looks like more of a brook. The type of place where we'd find small native Brook trout here in north-central Pennsylvania.
Lol, that's a bonnie.
Que maravilha de pescaria!
Yep, it was great! Thanks for watching.
Nice!
Thanks John!

Love your videos man :)
Proof that beautiful trout don't live in ugly places, eh?!!
Are you fishing nymphs?
Indeed! I don't remember if the flies in this video were weighted or not, but they were wool bodied, soft hackle flies
Отлично!
Спасибо!
This spot has a huge population of fish, but never going to see anything big. Great action there though...
