Washington won the Alamo bowl last year with Texas missing half their offense, bijan Robinson and Roshan Johnson and the receivers dropping two touchdown passes. Good luck!
So informative listening to two Athletes who actually know what they are talking about as they have been there and done that. Keep up the good work! Woof!!!
When I was working as a Carpet Cleaner years ago, I actually cleaned the Huard house down in Puyallup! Mike and Peggy were super nice and really enjoyed talking about you two!
Congrats to UW for its 13-0 season. As a diehard Longhorn fan, I'm expecting a Texas win, but I'm really looking forward to a truly excellent game between two very well-prepared teams. I hope it comes close to what I think was the most exciting college football game ever played: 2005 Vince Young and Texas over Matt Leinert/Reggie Bush USC for the national championship.
no one ever talked about last year's bowl game against Washington. that both of their starting running backs and one was a first round pick and there best linebacker who was also a first round pick sat out and did not play in the game. that makes a Hugh difference in how your team plays missing that talent.
Let them keep thinking that Casey Cain will be our best WR and that our running game is the same. It will be funny when the clock hits zero, they are staring up at a 21 point deficit, mumbling to themselves “but Oregon….. but Oregon” over and over.
@@johndavidlatta8192Texas played 2.5 games without their starting QB and haven’t had their #1 offensive weapon in Jonathan Brooks for the latter 1/3 of the season. Key defensive injuries all season. However, WU is much better on defense than they are credited for.
This year Penix and Ewers are great quarterbacks. Last year, Penix was a great quarterback and Ewers was a decent quarterback on a team who leaned heavily on Bijan Robinson and Roshon Johnson, who both opted out of the Alamo Bowl. The other difference is last year Murphy and Sweat weren't fully developed and they were just depth. This year they're the best DT tandem in college football.
2 years ago, Washington was 4-8! Last year, new coach and qb. They were good. This year, they figured out how to win every game. They're not the same team they were last year, either. Great offensive line. Speed and athleticism. We're about to find out if they can run around 2 big slow guys, aren't we?!?
@@BobothePirate24 if it were only that easy. If it was merely dependent on the ability to run around two big slow guys you'd have a point. But you don't
I understand that you have certain misgivings of having TEXAS as a favorite, more so since most everybody have said that any of these teams could win the NC. But let me quote what an expert said about the LONGHORNS." Steve Sarkisian has a team that can win a national championship. His play design. His play calling. His quaterback. His receivers. His running back. His tight end as a weapon. And he's bringing a defense too. That pretty much sums it up as to why they are considered favorites in the Sugar Ball. Best Regards.
That's what all the experts said about Oregon (who was even more heavily favored than Texas). Oregon has a better offense & better defense than Texas, loads of 4 and 5 star talent, tough and mean former SEC coach, played in a better conference this year. Texas DOES get almost a home game though. LOL!
@@johndavidlatta8192 No, no and no, Texas is much better than Oregon, and nobody has compared them or has said that they have better players than the LONGHORNS, as far as I know. What I wrote is not my opinion is from an expert Michael Felder from MSN, Felder know football way and above you and I. May the best team win. Wishful thinking doesn't win games.
@user-rc1po2ch4c NONONO!!! EVERYBODY thought Oregon were WORLDBEATERS. Every talking head admitted that. Suddenly, everyone else says Oregon sucks. They don't. Washington will surprise you too.
Those poor Texans got a monsoon of reality pouring their way. UW has the top two receivers in the country with Rome and Jalen. The latter only got really healthy this last game and will likely return next year to pair with this Rogers kid from the portal. Worse still for Longhorn pride is the fact that UW, famous for NFL safeties, has their two best back in the lineup from this recent battle with Oregon (likely the second best team in the country regardless of record) and, as a result, their defense will provide a bigger punch to compliment an already unstoppable airborne assault.
In last year's game, Ewers finished with 82 more passing yards than Penix. He had missed 3.75 games that year due to injury. So, before the Alamo Bowl, Penix had 33 college games under his belt while Ewers had played in just 8.25 games. WR Worthy had a couple of key drops last year, but it was learned later he played with a broken hand. This year he is paired with WR Adonai Mitchell, a transfer who as part of Georgia's two NC runs caught a TD pass in four CFP games. On defense, Washington will likely feel the presence of freshman LB Anthony Hill. Last year, Texas' 5th-yr linebacker sat out the game.
My default mode at this point is everyone who works for espn is a shill with only tertiary knowledge to fill out those sound bytes, until I'm convinced otherwise. And McElroy has shown to actually be professional and substantive, unlike most of the clowns he works with. Unless it's McDonough/McElroy or Fowler/Kirk doing the games, espn is an automatic mute. Mark Jones and RG3 are embarrassing try-hards. And any broadcaster forced to do a game with Quint Kessenich can't be taken seriously. Even next to a Beth '41 yerrrrrrrds' Mowins.
