@@ripwednesdayadams or maybe he's just trying to show some paint colors that will make a home feel more expensive? it's not for you and your dinky 1 bedroom in ohio or whatever boring place you live.
@@ducciwucci are you huffing paint or something? paint color alone doesn’t make a place “look more expensive” which is the whole point of this thread. 😂
@ripwednesdayadams you keep saying "look more expensive" when the caption plus comments replying to you are all saying FEEL more expensive, not LOOK. Looking and feeling are two different verbs that mean different things. Something can feel a certain way without looking a certain way, and vice versa. Hope this helps😊
My space is small , I painted only one wall in my living room and one of my bedrooms in a dark color and the three walls are white white. I love it !!!
I did dark blue walls, white bedding and curtains. Fuscia and navy accent pillows. I love color! I did my bath the same but with inspiration from Gauguin and modern mission style hardware. The cabinet is a lighter green.
These colors are very dark. Ensure you have lots of natural daylight for illumination. These will also need lights with higher wattage for evenings and nights. You may actually end up paying more in electricity bills. Also, as others have said, furniture needs to complement the space too.
Yes, this is actually why we subconsciously associate dark, jewel-toned colors with expensive homes. Before electricity, only the rich could afford to decorate their homes with dark paint and dark wallpaper, because they had enough bright and constant illumination. They could afford slow burning beeswax candles instead of fast burning lard candles; they had fancy gas lamps everywhere, etc. The poor who couldn’t afford to light their homes well had white walls for this reason. White reflected the precious light and allowed them to get by with using less. (Which created another problem, because with things constantly burning the white walls were hard to keep free from stains.)
I have one of those color painted in my room and trust me, the day feels night due to how dark my room looks and you need lots of lighting if you do not have direct daylight inside the room
I get it, I did the same once and everyone young and old kept asking if I was going through something or if i had gotten advice from an undertaker. The room was small with a window, the furniture and accessories...well it looked better in the ikea catalog because it was a staged photo. Lesson learned now I just go with the safest option white or my parents favorite cream a.k.a off white
@@minimaladjacentomg, I would hope so, ALWAYS KEEP THE CEILINGS LIGHT, unless you have a 10 million dollar mansion with designers that are doing custom EVERYTHING. ..many new to decor may not necessarily know how important is is to do that, that keeps the light reflecting throughout so one’s room doesn’t end up looking like a depressing cave…good luck people!
Can you make a video about happy colors? As in which can uplift a person’s mood when they enter their room. These colors sure makes the house look expensive but can you please show colors that will make inner child happy ? If that makes sense
I think the furniture of the room makes it feel more expensive too, so if you put fancy or modern furniture in the room too it will feel even more expensive
If I want bright, I go outside. Even if I painted everything white indoors and had strong lighting (which I would hate), it still wouldn't be as bright as outdoor. I prefer the indoor part of my home to be cosy, so love rich, darker colours.
3 walls in my master are very close to storms in Paris. The accent wall is a moss green. It’s GORGEOUS! I’ve had it like this for years and I was just looking at my walls and thinking about how much joy these colors have brought me.
I think that these colours will work only in a house thats like a mansion or smthing bcuz they are rlly dark and might make a small room look more enclosed, that is why i guess dark colours are usually only used in huge expensive houses hence explaining why they make us think that a house is expensive when its paint is similar to these.

Have been looking for a color for my bedroom.. preferably gray. The gray here is exactly what I was looking for. Took a screenshot and will be using it.
My mom’s an interior designer, and she says you should almost never paint a whole room a dark color because it makes it feel way more cramped. An accent wall or door could be a really cool touch though
I have darker wall colors for my living spaces and I love it. The decor pops, it feels cozy, and just looks good! I will say not everyone is as much of a fan as the darkness it can cause. Personally, I like lower light in my living space.
I’m moderate deuton colorblind & painted a side room Valspar Belle Grove Spruce? about 12 yrs ago & I still love it! I could have it all over & never get bored w/ it. It’s like the green he shows here. Poor lighting too, but I love accent lighting. I even keep a flat sunlight laying in windowsill for cloudy days. ❤
It’s not just the paint. The furniture, lighting, decor, placement, is SUPER important in giving the expensive feel/look.

Dark blue walls here as well in my bedroom with wood lamps and silver curtains. So cozy!
Storms in Paris is such a perfect deep teal. 😍
It's such a beautiful color
It's beautiful but I would never do a whole room in it, better to use the colour for accents in a light colored room. But definitely beautiful 😍.

dude agreed it’s stunning and fabulous
Same immediately drew my eyes, I have a strong connection to these colors between green and blue. The other inbetween colors being orange and red.

Totally agree 👍🏻 but we can get some furniture or sofa set in these colours it will look so classy, morden and expensive......
Or put in on a wall that doesnt get natural light
A natural earthy colour will really calm us. These colours show luxury but there you won't feel at home.
