- Come along with Bonnie and crochet the Spring Cables & Lace Throw! This completed throw is approximately 51" wide x 68" long as shown. (Yarn information below.)
Written pattern can be purchased here: www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/sp...
You can lengthen by adding multiples of 12 to the starting chain, and widen the throw by crocheting additional panels.

Bonnie..I love this pattern so much....I watched you work each row very carefully and don't see anything I can't do.... especially with the written pattern to guide me. Thank you for your tutorial and wish me yarny luck..lol God Bless and have a special day. 🌻🌸💞
Wishing you all the best Pat! This is an easier pattern if you are friends with the Celtic Weave.
Made this for my daughter almost done just finishing up the lace trim❤❤❤
I'd like to make one smaller a 7 panel or nine what would my foundation chain length be .if Iay ask ❤
I have to thank you for your patterns and videos. I saw this beautiful afghan and sent it to my daughter (now a married professional). She had learned the basic stitches from me and had made a box & lid from a beginner pattern. Your videos gave her so much confidence she began this pattern as her first “real project” (telling me after she started it). She is starting her second section of the lace stitches today. I am amazed at her progress. She works on it daily and tells me it helps her feel relaxed after work.
I learned of your site from a long-time friend of yours - I can’t say who because I haven’t asked his permission. In a returned business call, I mentioned to him I was knitting at that moment, explaining I had learned to crochet from my elderly grandmother when I was very young, literally sitting on the floor at her knee. He told me to check out your site & videos, that I would love your patterns. I did and he was right. I sent this Afghan pattern to my daughter for long term encouragement, I thought. But she surprised me! She started this on her own, needing my help with only 1 small spot and the rest she has accomplished from your UA-cam videos. I am so happy she has finally found how relaxing crochet can be and how it feels to have created something beautiful from yarn!
My grandmother always said our family had passed crochet & knitting down generation lines, back to “the old country” meaning the early 1700’s. I thought my daughter would break that cycle until she watched your videos. You made this project so understandable and achievable. Thank you so very much.
So sorry for the late reply (these notifications don't always show up in my feed), but I am so blessed by your story Patricia. Wishing you and your daughter all the very best!
That is beautiful! Would make a nice wedding gift.

Absolutely gorgeous
I've been waiting in anticipation for this one. The crows foot lace is simply gorgeous and looks like it's going to be a challenge to do. Thank you so much for sharing this one with us Bonnie!
My pleasure Toxic Orchid! Yes, you do have to pay attention to the Crow's Feet Lace, but not bad at all once you understand it. Thanks for your support!
@@BonnieBayCrochet I should have known, your explanation of the crows foot lace was straightforward and made complete sense compared to the tutorial I saw on it about six months ago and that one left me so confused and defeated trying to follow it. No one teaches better than you!!!
@@toxicorchid3932 awww...that is so kind of you!😊❤️❤️❤️
Ma è semplicemente stupendo! Bravissima!
I'm working on this gorgeous afghan, and couldn't wait to get to the Crows' Feet section. I try to follow the written pattern and come to the video when I need help. On the second row, I surprised myself by figuring out where to put the double crochet on the side of the treble. I came to the video and I had put it in the same place as you showed on the video! It looks like a V stitch. Thank you so much for another fantastic design! God Bless you and your family and glad they are all OK.
Bonnie, this pattern is gorgeous! Definitely going on my to-do list! I love your teaching style - always very concise and beautifully demonstrated. Chuckled when you said you taught small children!Personally, I appreciate those very simple terms you've kept from those days - they are very helpful when you teach me! Thank you!
Thank you Rosemary! I need simplicity too!😊😊😊
Oh my goodness..I can't crochet fast enough!!! Last night you taught me to crochet my 1st cable!!! Thank you so much 💗
Now I'm going to crochet every blanket/throw that you've created!!!! They are all so very beautiful. God bless you 🙏
Thank you Katie! Aren’t cables fun?😊❤️
@@BonnieBayCrochet yes, im having a blast Learning cables and all the other beautiful stitches you are teaching me!
Just finished the Celtic throw, which I love, and decided to find another of your amazing videos. Getting ready to start this cable and lace pattern, very excited as I know you will guide me through it. Thank you 😊

What say that have been already said, Dear Bonnie, As always what a gorgeous throw... Love it
Thank you Najla! I so appreciate that.
This has to the beautiful throw I have ever seen! I make blankets for others but want to make this for myself. It looks very challenging but hope I can figure it out. I have an issue reading pattern due to a severe head injury. I rely on what I can see..even if I have to watch this video 100 times I will make this! You inspire me....
Thank you for your kind words Susan. You can always slow down the video (should you have need) with the gear shaped icon on computer, lower right corner. It's 3 vertical dots in upper right hand corner on most phones. Take care and I wish you all the best!
I am starting now.finished knitted sweater just now.this is tempting
Thanks for the reminder that I need to get back to my sweater that I'm knitting. Blessings to you Thara!

Trankil you Bonnie❤️🕊🙏🏻
Your work is beautiful. I crochet but have never done anything like this…… might have a go:).
You can always try small swatches of these stitches to get a feel for them Christine. The Celtic Weave can be a bit tricky, but once you understand it it can be fun.
so wonderful! thank you :-)
wow Bonnie!!! That's stunning! I'm working on your Celtic throw at the moment, but this will be my next project!!!
This one was fun to design Vanesanda! 😊❤️
@@BonnieBayCrochet Your love for the craft absolutely shows Bonnie! This throw too is simply superb!!! I can't believe the stitches I have already learned from you doing the Celtic Cable throw. I have to admit, it took me a few days to perfect the Celtic weave. I unpicked several times but finally got it! I'm more than half way through now. I only started to crochet last year but you are so easy to follow. What a great teacher you are!!! So rewarding to learn these stitches from you! A few more days and I will start on this one! Thank you so much for sharing your God given gift!
@@vanessanda thank you! That means so much!😊❤️❤️❤️

You are my most favorite on youtube....
Thank you JoAnn! You are so sweet!
This pattern is so beautiful. Since I've been crocheting with solid colors so much, I decided to make this blanket using the Mandala Ombre (color Mantra) yarn by Lion Brand. It's working up beautifully 😍!
Looking forward to seeing this Leslie!😊
Awesome! I'll send a pic as soon as I'm done.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR YOU TODAY SISTER BONNIE
OMGOODNESS I'VE HAVE A LOTTTT OF CATCHING UP TO DO.

Thank you Lynn!! I so appreciate your enthusiasm. Take care sis!
Beautiful! curious as to why there is now captions on the tutorials?
Hermosa, traducción Español 👍🏼😘👏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
What a wonderful!!!
Buuuuuuuut .I give up 😄 🤣 😂
This will be my third piece I’ve made following your tutorials Bonnie ❤ I’ll be making one of these gorgeous blankets for one of my best friends and another one for myself! I bought som big twist yarn for one and loops and threads flecks for another 😊. Do you still recommend we use a slightly larger hook (J and K hook) even though the yarn recommends an H. Thanks so much! ❤
Yes I do because the sizes on the yarn often correspond to the knitting needle size. That said, use the hook that yields the fabric that you desire.😊
@@BonnieBayCrochet thanks so much Bonnie! :) i always go with the recommended hook size that’s on the yarn label, so just to clarify for this specific piece, if my yarn has a recommended hook size of H, should I still go up to a J and a K? Or do I stick with the H and use a K for the border? So happy I’ve made two Abigail baby blankets so the Celtic weave portions will be a breeze! ☺️ very excited to learn some new stitch work! ❤️
Beautiful! If I wanted to make this a smaller size, say as a lap size how many stitches would I need along the side for the border where you have the 166 single crochets?
You can subtract multiples of 8 from the starting chain so that you can make it any length you desire. If you make a small swatch you can get an idea of your gauge.
Beautiful Bonnie! What shawl are you wearing in your video? I love it and the color!
Thank you! This is the Tandem Cables Scarf. Here's the link for the pattern (which includes a video tutorial): www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/p/tandem-cables-scarf-crochet-pattern-by-bonnie-barker. This video is not on my public channel, but is on my watch.bonniebaycrochet.com site.
This is so lovely! I live in Florida……could this be made using sport weight yarn for a lighter throw? I am not sure if those cables would come out properly. Has anyone tried this?
As long as you size your hook to match your yarn you should be fine Mary Ann! Florida is my home state! I would love to visit there again.
Hi dear Bonnie I just finished my nice blanket and would like to show you
That's wonderful Nona! Can you send the photo to bonniebay@me.com? I would love to see!
