Catching the Bus to go Fishing |Ep. 1| Blaisdell Park| Hawaii Fishing

- Bored, stuck at home with no car, but want to go fishing. I have a solution for you! Trying taking the bus to one of your fishing spots. In todays video I go sight fishing for oio and get lucky with one after a couple of hours.
Gear:
Rod- Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 85TZ Nano
Reel- Shimano Twinpower XD 3000
Line- Major Craft Dangan PE 1.0 x4 to 15lb seaguar fluorocarbon

Another good catch and release segment. I said to myself, "That fish is one smart fish and deserves to be let go so someone else can enjoy the same" ... me.
We've hiked the path from Waipahu Depot to Aiea Bay Park but no whipping. Since last year I had planned to for an early bus ride out to West Loch. Then hike / whip from West Loch...cross over in Waipahu and finish at Aiea Bay Park (Closed but can still walk the bike lane to Nimitz Hwy). Then bus home.
My rig for this hike/whip is Fenwick 6 1/2 and Shimano Stradic 1000 series. I'm putting together a lighter rig Fenwick 5 1/2 and a (to be determined) 500 series.
Another good hike and whip is to get onto the reef at Ala Moana when the tide low and go out towards the breakers and walk the reef. Surf should be maximum 3' or you'll get bounced around 1' - 2' is perfect....if you lucky you can hit a school of papio. Surfers have told me they have seen uluas cruising around. Tight Lines!

Howzit bro, Do you run the jig straight to the main line or you have it on a liter/rig ?
You can run em straight if your mainline is mono. But I run braid so I tie a leader
