Could be worse. My personal favorite is still finals in 1985, when a camera man stuck his camera inside a pit-grounded bass drum for nearly 30 seconds during the Cadets show to get a shot of the shadow of the guy playing the drum ... and then the drummer didn't play anything.
@@alanalexander7560reminds me of Cadets ‘83. One of the most innovative shows of all time. Camera spends a lot of time showing us the inside of a horn.

Agree with you. The issue is many of the people who pay for the service, have no choice if they want to view any of these fantastic corps. However, many of the spectators are complete idiots and rude to the core and that's not intended to be a pun. Am I the only one that really didn’t like the show this year? They’re my fav corp, but this year they had no spirit. I love them so much because of how they tell their stories in a unique and effective way. This show had no story, and none of the bluecoats charm. It felt like a cadets show from the uniform to the show itself. I loved the cadets, but the bluecoats have a certain charm that other corps don’t have. not this year. Idk man. We need a story. Maybe I would love it if I didn’t hate the uniforms. Maybe they took more from the show than I thought. 2022 is peak bluecoats
I've loved their last three shows, but I disagree that it has no spirit. It has no /storyline/ as Riffs and Revelations and Garden of Love did, but my god this show is so exposed the whole show is like watching a 13 minute long highwire act over a pit of spikes.
Personally, this show, Sans Downside Up, Sans T/LT, is probably the most technical Bluecoats show in history. The exposed Stabs, the usage of electronics to fill the voids, the brass being at championship form despite it being 2 weeks away, the drill complimenting the music, the usage of the corps strengths… it’s their spot to lose. The Bass line is the strongest, sans 2022. The Guard is the best in recent history. The Brass is the best bluecoats have ever had. ( Mellos are carrying hard ) This is a show designed to get the crowd to feel the dead spaces, then attack the silence. The absence of the Cadets ( RIP ) caused a “Change” to the landscape. There used to be order, and now the top 12 has spiraled into chaos. Dominant corps being left behind by resurgence. This year could see Boston’s return to the winner’s circle, if the bluecoats don’t maintain their lead. The Devils could still come back. Phantom could honestly get 3rd. This year will be the catalyst for a truly chaotic race to the finish.
@@alanalexander7560 no, but they have had some of their best performances within the last decade.
