I think this story is about two kingdoms, The Blue one representing light and The Red one representing darkness. When The Prince of Dark loses his Father he ascends to the throne and makes the war more brutal than it already was. He runs into his love on the battlefield and wants to save her but the war prevents them from not fighting each other.

Fire is lively, emotional and it's warmth can be dangerous and protective at the same time. Both fire and a bird can be beautiful and dangerous. So both sides are neutral. More to that we can see that in Mistletoe blue queen is not terrified by the assassination. she is terrified because of the moment which is death. Afterwards she turns around and simply walks away. It's a constant power strugle of neighbouring kingdoms. Prideful blue kingdom just wanted to gain an advantage but the queen didn't realise that red king's son is also gifted with power of revange. The whole point of this song is to show that love and childhood dreams and promises can't survive the brutal reality of life and thus their love can't stand as they must continue the game of power. When at the same time they could marry and connect the kingdom into one but they are different. And difference can't be overcome whatever they'll do. one is red and one blue.
