a great producer once said “a song is fully completed by my standards, not just when the track itself is finished, but when i can envision our members.” truly, no one can love seventeen as much as the way the members love each other! ❤️
@@himaririku9254 okay I'm also a vip & love GD, he's definitely one of the best but so is Woozi & Seventeen, this video is about Seventeen & their member/producer Woozi & fellow members Joshua & Vernon discussing the making of their recent comeback, .. please give respect to these hardworking amazingly talented artists equally, I don't think any of them is better than the other, they're all uniquely beautiful creators in their own ways making amazing music 🎶
Such beautiful words by Woozi. This shows how much they are involved with the song and with each other. They deeply love each other and also love the content they make like a baby. It's so precious. That is exactly how you feel content and satisfied with what you do. It's like your soul feels satiated. ❤❤
Woozi is a genius. He produces music, he dances to his music, he sings to his music, and he even choreograph his music. This man is really there from the very start until the finishin touches
seventeen is a self produce group? i am planning to get into them and i know nothing i just discovered vernon and joshua recently and i did listen to their english song i love it sm!! i really wanna discovered the group i only know two members
@@alii3210 yup thats their whole brand! self producing idols (with a self producing fandom too sometimes haha). long post ahead! seventeen is a 13 member group and woozi (in this vid) is their main composer and producer alongside bumzu who is a soloist/producer in the same company. but besides woozi, other members have gotten involved in the writing and producing as well, such as vernon, hoshi, scoups, etc. their albums usually contain b sides which are split based on unit: vocal, hip-hop (rap), and performance (dance) teams. usually there all members write their respective songs. besides music production, they also do a lot of other stuff too. particularly hoshi (and dino) from the performance unit who are heavily involved in choreography. hoshi choreographed some popular tracks like don't wanna cry,, pretty u, and according to people this one too. dino has also choreod unit songs like flower, jamjam, etc. most performance team unit songs are choreographer by them both as well as the other 2 perf team members jun and the8. woozi in particular was supposed to be part of this performance team choreographer line at first but they decided he had enough on his plate already with the music side. but from time to time he still does choreo too. not only the performance side they're involved in, members mingyu and wonwoo from the hip-hop unit have even directed their own music videos. mingyu directed the MV for snap shoot and wonwoo did for their song holiday. they kinda brought this self producing concept to the next level as in their variety show "going seventeen", in which most of the activities came from them as well, they did this whole magazine shoot with just the members. someone being a stylist (IIRC woozi), someone being the photographer (wonwoo), someone else designing the cover (mingyu) and so on. this is probably just the tip of the iceberg of their self driving capabilities as i haven't even talked about their general leader scoups who would attend company meetings since way back to make sure his members thoughts and concerns were passed on to the higher ups of the company and all that. sorry for the super long post! hope this at least got you more interested in looking up seventeen! their recent album is truly a masterpiece IMO. (if you're wondering why carats are also a self producing fandom, we were given DIY albums for their 2020 comebacks and for this cb they gave us an audio kit of samples from their album for free to experiment and make music with!)
@@AR-kf4yw omggg thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that i really appreciate it !! 💗 the group seem so interesting and they are incredibly talented omg waw !! Since i got into kpop i never heard a song of them only their song ready for love (if i am not messing up the title) and i did like it but at the time i wasn’t interested to get into the group and even before and now i don’t know the members of the group i only know vernon and joshua because at night one time i was idk watching UA-cam and i found a video of these two if i am not wrong joshua was making pancakes and vernon was there with him they seem so close and they were speaking in english so i was like omg other kpop idols who speak english are they canadiens , americains ?? so i looked both of them on the internet and i foud out joshua is from california and vernom from new york i was omg so cool!! (Also i have a crush on vernon pls😭) yeah so they seem really sweet and genuine so its at that moment i was like i need to get into seventeen ASAP and i watched FOSQUAD interview with four of them and vernon was in that video so yeah AND recently i was at school on tik tok and i saw a video of vernon and joshua performing 2 minus one AND I WAS LIKE OMFG THEIR VOICES??? + THE SONG???? + THEM??? THATS IT I AM IN LOVE so when i get back home i listened to the song ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT 10/10 A HEARTBREAK MASTERPIECE and i even watched their genius performance and at this moment i knew i had to stan them !!
@@AR-kf4yw just because i am curious did they do or said anything problematic since their debut? because they seem genuinely kind and caring so i am just wondering
I love how woozi became talkative when it comes to Seventeen's music and the process of producing it. I just love how they gave SVT this opportunity and share these stories with us.
Possibly the most I've ever heard Woozi talk in an interview! It's clear music is his passion and he knows the members and group so well that he can produce hit after hit specifically for them.
This is the kind of content that Seventeen needs, to show how's behind the story of their musics, we all know they heavily involved in their releases but we never actually saw the working on studio Rolling stone, thank you :)
I love seeing the recording diaries for nct and all the other sm artists and I think it would be really cool to see the behind the scenes for svt as well
@@bhav2671Seventeen always have their recording behind for their albums, it posted on their youtube channel, what i want here is the "process" of making the song, because we know Seventeen make their own song
@@leejihoonly645 yeah that's what i meant when i said behind the scenes i meant it all from the idea conception and then how it flows into the recording for example for sticker we saw 127s first reaction to the demo
One of best thing that 'Seventeen as SELF PRODUCING GROUP' is that they can fully explain all the process and experience they do in order to produce a masterpiece that they truly OWN.
I think it is very important to note that Vernon is basically Woozi's pupil. Many don't often talk about how Vernon has been doing a lot of producing and song writing lately, and I think it's great to watch how Vernon's unique style meshes so perfectly with Woozi's romantic one. I'm so proud of them. Needless to say, the entire group was astounding this comeback, but Joshua and Vernon really shined throughout this era. Can't wait to watch the concert!!
"The song is fully completed by my standards, not just when the track itself is finished, but when I can envision our members." 😭🥺 This is why their songs are always perfect, Woozi (and also the other members, I only mentioned him because he said this) never misses a beat, he creates the songs based on the group, every single member matters, I am proud to stan SEVENTEEN ❤❤
I love seeing contents like this when they get to talk about their process in creating their music. Woozi (and Bumzu) is just too damn good. The quality of their music is just a reflection of their passion in putting out music they can identify themselves with and be proud of. To me, it's simply honest music that I get when I listen to Seventeen.. and I love them for that.
i'm so glad that we are able to know the whole process behind the song. woozi seems so excited to talk about it and it's awesome to watch him in his element.
@@alii3210 yess, they're the og self-produced group. They got the title as "the first self-produced kpop groups" from the media and netizen itself not from the fandom or the company. There are other groups who participated in their music before SVT like Bigbang, BAP, BtoB, block b, bts (to name a few) but media doesn't give them the title because they only involved in the music making while SVT they heavily involved in everything they put out including choreography, contents, merch, lightstick etc. That's why the korean media and netizen give them the title. And fun fact, they self-produced not because they want to get the title as the self-produced group but because their company is in the verge of brankcruptcy when they about to debut and couldn't even afford to give them resources. Thank god they already learned about producing, choreographing and write lyrics since predebut so its not really a big problem for them to produce their whole debut album which surprisingly the only kpop album who manage to get to billboard in that year (2015)
@@alii3210 you can search SVT history of becoming the first self-produced kpop group on the internet if you want to learn more ^^ Edit: so you can learned they're struggle to get to where they are right now. From the group who used their own money to buy earphone to perform (because the company couldn't afford the in ear) to become one of the three biggest boy group.
Okay the whole comment is talking about Woozi which he well deserves but can we take a moment to talk about Joshua and Vernon. These two are often away from the limelight and it's finally good to see them talking in such a video, to listen to their outlook about music and how it all came together with all of these three. I just love Rock with You, this song made me a carat and I love Josh soo much. 🥺🥺🥺
One thing I love about an artist is the true to his/her/their concept. SEVENTEEN is the living definition of "I make the music I want and love." Woozi, one of the members (the blond boy) is the one who is in charge of the songwriting on all the songs, with the help of BUMZU and the PRISMFILTER firm. Since the pre-debut, he has stood out for his incredible talent and ability to write, compose and produce songs, and he has done it ever since. SEVENTEEN's discography is wide, from ballads, to EDM, punk pop, R&B, etc. And the best part: everything is self-produced. The 13 members of the group help to compose the songs, to define their concepts and the style that they are going to test. They are even known because one of them (Hoshi) created many choreographies for the group with the help of members of the dance unit (Dino, Jun and The8). SEVENTEEN is the definition of an authentic artist. Woozi once said "we do not join the trends, we do what we want" and they always show that it is like that, behind the scenes preparing their music, practicing the dances ... more than 6 years in the kpop industry and they remain faithful themselves and with fresh and unforced concepts. There's it all: powerful vocals (like DK and Seungkwan), angelic vocals (Woozi-Jeonghan-Joshua), dance movements inspired by martial arts (Hoshi-Jun-The8-Dino) and high-energy raps (SCoups-Vernon-Mingyu-Wonwoo). In addition to the AWESOME teamwork. They consider themselves as a family, so they know how listen to all the proposals to choose the one that suits everyone. Isn't it cool?
The entire galaxies on Woozi's eyes everytime he talks about his music, his songs, Oh God I love this man so much. I hope u stay healthy, happy and keep doing whatever u want to do. I always trust you, your music, and your standards. Once again, I love u. And thanks to Rolling stone, for this session❤❤
Adding this here in case Shua and Vernon gets to read this: Thank you for experimenting and giving us such a fun throwback song with 2 Minus 1! Please make more! R&B, slow rock, all those good 90s genres! Seriously, I love the song!!! Hope to hear more of these!!! Love you guys!
thank you so much rolling stone for letting them talk more about the behind process in details. instead of keep asking about the repeated questions, this is the content that we as fans needed the most. seventeen is the truly self producing artis so it's so endearing to listen them talking about their music passionately. i can see vernon is very attentive and passionate, i'm glad. i hope other members would also get this opportunity to talk about the behind process of their songs. thank you once again. a very high quality content that we can't get anywhere:)
Rolling Stone please do more interviews like this for groups that self produce. It’s so much better than interviewers asking the same questions again and again while the members sit in chairs and repeat their dream collabs. I really loved watching this, it’s so cool seeing the producers themselves talking about how the song was actually made, not the script the company gave them.
A producer, composer and songwriter who knows the strengths of the artists so well can create these kinds of masterpieces. Woozi doesn't just make any kind of music. He 100% puts into consideration every single important aspect that makes Seventeen SEVENTEEN - the members vocal strengths, the group's performance power, etc. And it's not easy considering that there are a total of 13 members to arrange for. He is literally a music genius. He has always been humble as he knows every single member of the group contributes to their work and this is just something he does best, but it's seven years worth of music - over a hundred songs to his name. More than anyone, the members will always love the work he does. Happy and grateful knowing that he is continuously inspired and staying confident in creating more amazing music because of the support he gets. And because of that, Carats are also the luckiest fandom to have such an amazing Vobo and, of course, SEVENTEEN.
i'm just so amazed with woozi. how can he produce amazing songs and at the same time being active as a member of seventeen. we all know seventeen has a lot contents plus their world tours. he's a music genius. i am beyond proud of him
Well i cant say for sure for Woozi but i do think of music almost every break time. Sometimes i tap on the table and record it so i can replay the melody and complete it at home. Or i put on notes the lyrics that just come to my mind. So we're basically thinking of music 24/7. Woozi is one of few members with least public appearances. Hehas more time in the studio compared to most members who are also working outside seventeen like modeling, (outside promotion) show appearances.
Honestly as a fan this is the type of content I want to see. It's truly so interesting to watch them talk about the entire process and see the pride they have in the final product. This is why Seventeen still perform older songs instead of only promoting newer ones (HIT on Ellen, Pinwheel/Trauma/Lilili Yabbay on Rolling Stone etc.). They truly love all their songs because they put an insane amount of effort to create them and it's honestly really refreshing to see the love they have for their art. I also loved how comfortable this interview was, Woozi being in his element was amazing to see! It would be awesome to have more sit down interviews like this with the different units and hear what they all had to say about the producing/writing/recording/choreographing process.
when everyone even some composers in korea said that Woozi is a genius... now i really get it. his eyes really sparkling when he said "ah this song is completed!" and when he showed the hidden sounds too.. also we can see how Woozi and a whole SEVENTEEN members put their hearts on this song both musically and on performance points. SEVENTEEN who can not be imitated!
The difference when it comes to producing a song made by the artist himself is that, he/she can feel and see the fulfillment in each music he made until the time all elements that he envision from the very beginning comes to a final product..modified to a very delicate version until he was satisfied that it was not only pleasing in the ears but visually and performance wise.. Seventeen produce songs based on the theme they talk about then expand it to further emoliate the message they want to share to their fans.. They put themselves in the personification of their fans.. They try various things in their music, compositions, performance and also their whole album in each era.. I really admire how they explore in their music production and openly had an opinion from the time they think of their theme performance and to their promotion in general.. At that point, they monitor almost every aspect and showcase more of their talents thru their musics.. Thank you for this interview and caratland have all the glory for Seventeen
Seventeen is a genius self-producing group! One of the biggest reasons to stan them. It's so cool to know about how the process of making the songs in this album.
This kind of "talkshow"/"interview" where they can sit comfortably and face each other is a lot more enjoyable to be watched.. thank you rolling stone!
One of k-pop producers once exclaimed, while reacting, when he saw Woozi in his producer role, saying if "idols" know these things then what would other "producers" do - to show his awe. - When I see these videos, behind the scenes, the process of it all, it just makes me more proud. Makes me wanna shout "these guys make their own music & share it with us!" Or, as Hoshi once shouted proudly on stage, "our song, our lyrics and our music!!"
The thing I'm really amazed of Woozi is that he's both genius and hard-worker. He has talent that is diligently nurtured. He makes use of his blessing to the max. I really respect him.
This is such a good approach towards an in depth of their title track "Rock With You", especially when Seventeen is known as one of the self-producing idols. Was happy to see how Woozi, Vernon and Joshua have shared so much of the production and retention required. Thank you again Rolling Stone 😃
After I watching this breakdowns I cry and proud of WOOZI he’s super genius producer. Carats very lucky to have Woozi to make amazing songs and this is I love SVT so much.
This group is definitely worth stanning for. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY OTHER GROUP WHO IS THIS CONFIDENT AND HAS THE MASTERY OF THEIR OWN PRODUCED SONG. you'll know that their songs are worth listening to.
This is what SELF PRODUCING IDOLS are. I'm so proud to stan them. Also these kind of production aspects of seventeen should be shown more. Thank you so much Rolling Stone.
I love how animated Woozi gets when talking about music. He's really in his element here, talking ahout something he's passionate about and loves doing despite the difficulties.
So proud of woozi. This boy is different when he talks about his music and how creates it. He's so excited and it makes him more excited is " talking it with his beloved members". His smile is so proud and satisfied smile... Thank you woozi our genius producer.
Woozi really is a genius, I wish other kind of intelligences were as valued as the ones at school. To be honest I find music and art intelligence extremely underated. It's extraordinary and rare, and most people with this kind of talent suffers a lot for not fitting into the standards. I'm happy Woozi is getting the recognition he deserves, he's an incredible soul, along with all members. Stan talent, stan Seventeen ❤
Really, really adored this interview! It was nice seeing Woozi in his element, and I think having Joshua and Vernon there really helped him speak comfortably. Also, it's really interesting to see how much overlap the music creation has with creating the physical album (photoshoots overlapping with finishing the songs) and how that might affect the creative process for them. I loved this album so much Seventeen! And I'm looking forward to your concert and Ainochikara!
I like that Woozi talked so much. It’s really good to hear how he created this music, how he got this far, and how NOT easy it is. We were able to get an insight into Woozi’s studio and his thoughts. Of course everyone works hard, but I don’t think I’m saying anything bad when I say Woozi specifically adds a lot. I’m glad I had the interview with Joshua and Vernon, as I rarely see them in any of these “behind” videos, so it was great to see them here. Returning, Woozi is an amazing, genius young man who is not only smart but also talented. I am just amazed at how much you see and hear the music in front of you!
I really loved hearing about the process. It was amazing to see these three talk so passionately about it! especially Woozi as a producer was shining as he spoke about the process that went behind this. So proud to be stanning the original self-producing group!
woozi really is the best self producing idol / other seventeen members too/ . the way his eyes shine talking about his work and the way that he thoroughly explains the process in such a proud manner. He has really accomplished a lot not only for seventeen, but he has also composed/produced songs for other idols. He deserved that AAA best producer award and not only that he was also the youngest to get that award which is amazing, and carats are very much proud of.
I LOVE that shua and Vernon are there w him and just listening to him. it should feel really natural and comfortable because of them cause woozi is part of the introvert line, I'm crying
i always love to hear SEVENTEEN talking about the process on how they create their masterpieces. The amount of work and thought needed just to give us the best music, wow… we truly don’t deserve each and every one of you. Thank you for always working so hard. Every time I listen to their songs, i instantly feel admiration, comfort and happiness ✨
On top of Woozis amazing producing skills im really heartened to hear them talk about joshuas vocals as well 🥺 by extension all of seventeens vocal colour and range was really acknowledged during their conversation! Thank you for this video :)
This was such a nice video/interview to watch! Seeing how much work svt especially woozi has done and understanding the steps in their production, I surely appreciate the album now more than ever. It's really nice seeing my idols explain their craft and later on showcasing it to the world. Thanks, Rolling Stone!
So cool listening to them just chat about their process! Their passion for their music is so obvious in this video, and is always evident in the end product!! They keep working until they've perfected it!!
the fact that Woozi produces music base on how he envisions the members or the person he will give the music to just gives so much meaning and life to the music itself. there's always a story and meaning behind each songs he produce. that same goes when he gave IOI's Downpour.. why it was just so emotional.
"A song is fully completed by my standards, not just when the track itself is finished" is a sentiment a lot of musicians should follow. Hell, not just musicians, but all kinds of artists. Like Rorschach said "never compromise".
I absolutely love hearing woozi talk about his music he looks so happy and in his element 🥺 So so proud of the boys and the carat (and cubic) community. ❤️
seeing woozi passionately talking about the process is such a lovely sight. i hope he gets more opportunity to talk about their music as a producer like this.
My nephew (Preston) is a big fan of their music. I asked him what he is listening to these days and he brought this up. I decided to do some research for myself and listen to the Attacca album. I'm very impressed with these guys. And I love the fact that they create their own music. I have a lot of respect for them, as well as my nephew's taste in music! 😜Lol. I am much older than most of you guys here in the comments, but I'm definitely a fan now. I wish these guys the best. The sky is the limit for where these guys can go. Music is a universal language.
woozi’s tenacity is something else. at such a young age, he has already matured his craft and established the musical direction he wants. his talent is truly admirable!

this becomes a lot more relatable because they gave us the audio kit TT^TT woozi's like our teacher explaining the assignment XD and seeing seventeen in this side is soooooooo mesmerizing
i'm a recently new fan of svt (your choice era *smiley face*) and i think sometimes people who have been a fan of an artist for a longer time tend to get upset about not knowing every single detail about them and sometimes bash on new fans for not knowing a certain song but i'm honestly very happy i started stanning when i did. i'm a big fan of learning and getting to see what it takes to make a song/album and from what i've seen, fans getting this type of content is new. newer fans, like myself, get to see that now than before. yes, they are a self-producing group and have seen it in "inside seventeen" episodes but it's very nice to see media that focuses music and popular culture sit down with them to explain this! i'm slowly going through their discography and interviews, that's just the way i work, and i'm very grateful for this new type of content. idk maybe we'll see them on the cover soon!!
in caratland, we have a tendency to say that we all discover and stan seventeen at the right moment in our lives. yes, later carats often say I wish I stanned sooner but it's really ok. there is also a lot out there for you to learn about them. personally I appreciate it when baby carats really go deeper into their early works because I do know some prefer to keep up with current present content. I understand in some sense because with seventeen, the context of their work in that moment it is released or produced amplifies its significance; and when it's in the past, it can be hard to resonate with. but seventeen being who they are, they never forget their past and that's why they reference old things as inside jokes. regardless, as long as you enjoy their music sincerely because they are just so sincere and passionate about music and their art, when you become a carat doesn't matter. I too am someone who likes to take my time to go through things personally. I was like that too, a couple years ago just after an ode was released. although there have been times I do regret, I truly think I stanned them in a point of my life and their lives that I could not have done so earlier. and then there was a switch that came on and I've just been in deep since and I don't regret any of it. anyway, enjoy your dive deeper into the diamond life!
it's so refreshing and interesting to hear them talk about the process behind the music production, we usually get to see the finished product without knowing much about the steps that lead to it. I really appreciate how they shared their views and approach when making their art
Woozi is just on a different level. You can see how passionate he is when it comes to music, the way he talks about the process of producing music is just so amazing. True to the lyrics, No words are enough for you. I'm just gonna say I have a secret crush on him.
Thank you Rolling Stone for letting them talk about it! Its always so exciting to hear Seventeen talk about the creative process of making music. They are one of the kind Self-Producing Idols. Amazing job as always. Woozi and Bumzu are literally geniouses
Thank you so much for doing this interview because SEVENTEEN are my favorite artists, I'm really fascinated with their songwriting process so thank you very much for sharing this with us. I could honestly listen to them talking about music all day without being bored. Thank you Rolle Stone! I wish more of these in their next comebacks! There is no artist like SEVENTEEN. I live for this kind of interview where i can see Woozi in his complete element. He is astounding and so well-versed at such a young age. I’m just so proud of Seventeen
As a Carat for 6 years now, it just fills me with so much warmth when Woozi and Seventeen are able to talk about the process of how they create their masterpieces. It really shows how much passion they put into it and how much joy they get in return for making their music. I agree, Seventeen needs more of this kinds of content where their eyes just sparkle when talking about the things they like doing. Woozi is so happy in here and I am full.
We know the resident svt producers are vernon and woozi and they always do commendable job. I really liked listening to shua here and Attacca era really showed him as a good lyricist and producer. He worked in both rock with you and 2 minus 1 and both of these are such great songs. Kudos to them
looking at woozi and bumzu working behind on it really amazed me. also, seventeen are passionate about their work, and giving a try the best results in their way makes me "waah, they should be my role model". I started looking at them and become a carat in 2017, and I never think that I would love them until now. the way they delivered about their work with love and how carat (fans) response it feels kinda give a strong relationship in a good way. you know, when someone works with their heart and love it can be this beautiful. even I never meet them, maybe soon. they are my role model, especially woozi. you can see how bright and fire when he talks about what he loves .. for seventeen, thank you for making good music and showing a great personality so I feel growing up together with different path ❤
Thank you for this breakdown! You`ve done good job. Joshua`s voice in 2 minus 1 was really impressive. At first I was a bit confused if it was him or not but it really did sound great. Also, he`s the one who usually opens the songs and I love it. Thank you to Woozi and Bumzu, as well as other members/producers who participated in making this masterpiece!
Look how excited and happy Woozi, Joshua & Vernon are to share the process behind their album creation. These are the type of interviews we'd like to see from more artists because it shows how much thought, planning & hard work goes into creating music. I so agree with the performance aspect of Seventeen. Their music show performances were thrilling!!
I dont know why but it always fascinates me whenever seventeen talks about their music. As a self-producing group HEAVILY involved with the overall production process of their music, it makes me proud as a fan how dedicated they are with their craft.
SVT is phenomenal, and definitely great kudos to Woozi for pulling the the main productions till date. I rmb back then during pre-debut era when Woozi felt immerse pressure writing the titles and b-sides for the group thinking 'their careers depend on me', I'm glad the passion is now shared amongst the members, and I'm glad the group put full trust in everyone with their music. Love this interview, love it whenever we hear them talk about productions because it's always amazing. Thanks for featuring our boys!
I like how the comments are not spamming the video just for the sake of engagement but because they really appreciate what SVT are really doing for their music.
I became interested in SVT because of this song and I became a fan when I saw them perform this song with live band. SVT has my love and respect, especially Woozi.
I really love to see people who's passionate when it comes to things that they're into. Woozi and Seventeen is so passionate when it comes to music and everything.
This is EXACTLY the type of interview Seventeen needs. They have their hands on every part of the process from conception to fully fledged music, choreo, and concept. The process in which the music is created is so magical, and Im so happy Woozi gets to share it!!!!!!
Woozi has a real gift for creating music. He will definitely be remembered as one of the best of this generation! SVT is lucky to have him and he's lucky to have SVT (and BUMZU) help him create masterpieces!!

seventeen is a 13 member group and woozi (in this vid) is their main composer and producer alongside bumzu who is a soloist/producer in the same company. but besides woozi, other members have gotten involved in the writing and producing as well, such as vernon, hoshi, scoups, etc. their albums usually contain b sides which are split based on unit: vocal, hip-hop (rap), and performance (dance) teams. usually there all members write their respective songs.
besides music production, they also do a lot of other stuff too. particularly hoshi (and dino) from the performance unit who are heavily involved in choreography. hoshi choreographed some popular tracks like don't wanna cry,, pretty u, and according to people this one too. dino has also choreod unit songs like flower, jamjam, etc. most performance team unit songs are choreographer by them both as well as the other 2 perf team members jun and the8.
woozi in particular was supposed to be part of this performance team choreographer line at first but they decided he had enough on his plate already with the music side. but from time to time he still does choreo too.
not only the performance side they're involved in, members mingyu and wonwoo from the hip-hop unit have even directed their own music videos. mingyu directed the MV for snap shoot and wonwoo did for their song holiday.
they kinda brought this self producing concept to the next level as in their variety show "going seventeen", in which most of the activities came from them as well, they did this whole magazine shoot with just the members. someone being a stylist (IIRC woozi), someone being the photographer (wonwoo), someone else designing the cover (mingyu) and so on.
this is probably just the tip of the iceberg of their self driving capabilities as i haven't even talked about their general leader scoups who would attend company meetings since way back to make sure his members thoughts and concerns were passed on to the higher ups of the company and all that.
sorry for the super long post! hope this at least got you more interested in looking up seventeen! their recent album is truly a masterpiece IMO.
This is the kind of content that Seventeen needs, to show how's behind the story of their musics, we all know they heavily involved in their releases but we never actually saw the working on studio
Rolling stone, thank you :)
I agree.
But I'm just gonna correct you - this channel and the magazine is called Rolling Stone. Rolling Stones is a band.
@@leejihoonly645 yeah the only time we got to see the process, was when they made the intro and outro songs for going seventeen.
I have seen their pre debut videos and you're right! He's been learning, writing and composing so many songs ❤️
"The song is fully completed by my standards, not just when the track itself is finished, but when I can envision our members." 😭🥺
This is why their songs are always perfect, Woozi (and also the other members, I only mentioned him because he said this) never misses a beat, he creates the songs based on the group, every single member matters, I am proud to stan SEVENTEEN ❤❤
Couldn't agree more!
Me too
So true, which is why carats are so proud of Woozi, he is also the youngest music producer.
G DRAGON
THE KING
This what it called artist, they make and execute the art
@@himaririku9254 Yes, he is. No one says he is not, so stop spamming this comment on people's posts.
i'm so glad that we are able to know the whole process behind the song. woozi seems so excited to talk about it and it's awesome to watch him in his element.
When you enjoyed your work you will feel happy but when you dont happy with it you will feel burden and stress..
@@oujikun4023 That's why there are 13 members. Woozi is not the only one who creates music.
now this is the kind of content that is fitting for self-producing kings
YASSSS louder!! The world needs to see how self-produced group is actually is.
i had no idea they produce their own music i only knew bts and skz!! i am about to stan them if they are a self produce group!!
Thank god they already learned about producing, choreographing and write lyrics since predebut so its not really a big problem for them to produce their whole debut album which surprisingly the only kpop album who manage to get to billboard in that year (2015)
@@alii3210 you can search SVT history of becoming the first self-produced kpop group on the internet if you want to learn more ^^
Edit: so you can learned they're struggle to get to where they are right now. From the group who used their own money to buy earphone to perform (because the company couldn't afford the in ear) to become one of the three biggest boy group.
@@potaytowpopotee4580 waw!!! thank you for telling all of that i appreciate it a lot!
Aww, yes, same here. I too love Josh a lot ❤
Joshua and Vernon are my biases
One thing I love about an artist is the true to his/her/their concept. SEVENTEEN is the living definition of "I make the music I want and love."
Woozi, one of the members (the blond boy) is the one who is in charge of the songwriting on all the songs, with the help of BUMZU and the PRISMFILTER firm.
It's More than cool.....I am a die heart carat....I feel Proud Everytime I say this that I am a carat because of seventeen
I agree, it is so great that they don’t follow trends and do what they want, which one of the many reasons why I am a 💎
You explained them accurately I'm crying thank you :'D
this explanation is everything. thank you so much for flawlessly putting it into words
Thanks for comment this
thank you so much rolling stone for letting them talk more about the behind process in details. instead of keep asking about the repeated questions, this is the content that we as fans needed the most. seventeen is the truly self producing artis so it's so endearing to listen them talking about their music passionately. i can see vernon is very attentive and passionate, i'm glad. i hope other members would also get this opportunity to talk about the behind process of their songs. thank you once again. a very high quality content that we can't get anywhere:)
Woozi becomes really chatty when filming gose and when he is talking about the progress of seventeen's music. He is so amazing.
Im glad woozi when saying "this song is fully my standard" he's look so satisfying for the result of this EP😭❤️
i'm just so amazed with woozi. how can he produce amazing songs and at the same time being active as a member of seventeen. we all know seventeen has a lot contents plus their world tours. he's a music genius. i am beyond proud of him
Well i cant say for sure for Woozi but i do think of music almost every break time.
Makes me wanna shout "these guys make their own music & share it with us!"
Or, as Hoshi once shouted proudly on stage, "our song, our lyrics and our music!!"
6:59 waaa the way woozi explained shua's voice is exactly how i heard it in their songs. his voice can be soft but also strong
The thing I'm really amazed of Woozi is that he's both genius and hard-worker. He has talent that is diligently nurtured. He makes use of his blessing to the max. I really respect him.
I am so proud to stan these self-producing idols.
Joshua's rough voice is amazing glad they tried, I love the opening of Rock with you and 2 Minus 1 so much 🤧💕
This group is definitely worth stanning for.
This is so interesting 🥺🥺 I love seeing their process bc it teaches me and inspires me so much!!!! Thank you svt!!!!
whenever seventeen talks about their music, i just feel so proud that i'm a carat!
"Let's come up with 10 melodies each" omg Bumzu and Woozi's abilities are so much
I really loved hearing about the process. It was amazing to see these three talk so passionately about it! especially Woozi as a producer was shining as he spoke about the process that went behind this. So proud to be stanning the original self-producing group!
Joshua is so humble ))) Woozi is so into when he talks about music I can see his passion))
woozi really is the best self producing idol / other seventeen members too/ . the way his eyes shine talking about his work and the way that he thoroughly explains the process in such a proud manner. He has really accomplished a lot not only for seventeen, but he has also composed/produced songs for other idols. He deserved that AAA best producer award and not only that he was also the youngest to get that award which is amazing, and carats are very much proud of.
seventeen has this unique chemistry among the members that allows them to just sit on a table and create a masterpiece
Every time I listen to their songs, i instantly feel admiration, comfort and happiness ✨
waaaaah, i really really love hearing people talk about their passion and woozi just amazes me every time
On top of Woozis amazing producing skills im really heartened to hear them talk about joshuas vocals as well 🥺 by extension all of seventeens vocal colour and range was really acknowledged during their conversation!
Loved seeing them talk about the process in detail. It really highlights the beauty and effort of creating art, or in this sense music.
It's nice to watch them talk about music they created themselves , more love to Woozi ! He's a genius , and our lovable Vernon and Joshua !
Woozi's STUDIO IS SO AMEZING...LIKE I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH NEAT AND LOVELY STUDIO BEFORE....👍💕💗
the fact that Woozi produces music base on how he envisions the members or the person he will give the music to just gives so much meaning and life to the music itself. there's always a story and meaning behind each songs he produce. that same goes when he gave IOI's Downpour.. why it was just so emotional.
"A song is fully completed by my standards, not just when the track itself is finished" is a sentiment a lot of musicians should follow.
Hell, not just musicians, but all kinds of artists. Like Rorschach said "never compromise".
i really love hearing Woozi talk about the process of making songs
So proud to stan this self-producing group. Woozi you're such a genius producer, I respect you, sir!
I absolutely love hearing woozi talk about his music he looks so happy and in his element 🥺 So so proud of the boys and the carat (and cubic) community. ❤️
woozi's fr a musical genius o m g....how can 1 person be so talented in every aspect of music kpop is so lucky to have him
Indeed, THEY'RE SELF PRODUCING IDOLS. Im so proud of you guys
seeing woozi passionately talking about the process is such a lovely sight. i hope he gets more opportunity to talk about their music as a producer like this.
I dont think I'd get this kind of talk and explanation from the other groups. My precious best producer jihoon, very proud of him 🥹
My nephew (Preston) is a big fan of their music.

You could really tell how interested Vernon is with everything Woozi was saying. I can’t wait for more prod. Vernon tracks ♥️

this becomes a lot more relatable because they gave us the audio kit TT^TT
woozi's like our teacher explaining the assignment XD
and seeing seventeen in this side is soooooooo mesmerizing
i'm a recently new fan of svt (your choice era *smiley face*) and i think sometimes people who have been a fan of an artist for a longer time tend to get upset about not knowing every single detail about them and sometimes bash on new fans for not knowing a certain song but i'm honestly very happy i started stanning when i did. i'm a big fan of learning and getting to see what it takes to make a song/album and from what i've seen, fans getting this type of content is new. newer fans, like myself, get to see that now than before. yes, they are a self-producing group and have seen it in "inside seventeen" episodes but it's very nice to see media that focuses music and popular culture sit down with them to explain this! i'm slowly going through their discography and interviews, that's just the way i work, and i'm very grateful for this new type of content. idk maybe we'll see them on the cover soon!!
in caratland, we have a tendency to say that we all discover and stan seventeen at the right moment in our lives. yes, later carats often say I wish I stanned sooner but it's really ok. there is also a lot out there for you to learn about them. personally I appreciate it when baby carats really go deeper into their early works because I do know some prefer to keep up with current present content.
Welcome to the diamond life friend!

They're really amazing

Woozi is a genius producer. I love how woozi talking about their music.
I love how passionate Woozi is while talking about their music. Amazing.
Thanks for featuring our boys!
it makes me so happy and proud whenever i see them talking about their music and producing.
I like how the comments are not spamming the video just for the sake of engagement but because they really appreciate what SVT are really doing for their music.
I became interested in SVT because of this song and I became a fan when I saw them perform this song with live band. SVT has my love and respect, especially Woozi.
i really love how woozi always has his way to babying vernon
I really love to see people who's passionate when it comes to things that they're into. Woozi and Seventeen is so passionate when it comes to music and everything.
woozi's thought process is so interesting. I would love to hear him talk about his creative process more.
