Gail, you are a hero! Even by seeing that huge spider on my screen, I started screaming. His granddad must have been a tarantula. 😱
And you just lifted it up from your sleeve and put him in the wall.
I would have been jumping up and down, trying to sweep him off my arm, while yelling, "is he gone?"
I would've died on the spot. spiders of any size freak me out
I bet most of us have a horror shed, cupboard room or even a drawer stuffed with items even long forgotten. My garage is often like that . I've lost track of how many times I clear it out. Good to see you both in another vid Gail and Alex
Iv'e got all of those!! and I am not joking.
I call mine the ROD … Room Of Doom!
Out of sight out of mind.
Right? 😊
I have both several drawers and a room that was supposed to be a craft room turned storage. I know the feeling! The places where you put random things!🤣
My whole apartment is like that! The curse of the crafter!!! My life would be so much easier if I hoarded newspapers!😆
"Searching around, giving up, and shutting the door" is how I end up with multiple hammers and garden shears.
I live in apartment but I have a closet full of woodworking tools including a Workmate! This closet is my shed equivalent!
The "huh huh huh" mode on the drill is really important. Never buy one without it. 🤣
Thanks for the videos.
I love watching you Gale. You are definitely the same type of woman I am I've never let anything stop me from what I've wanted to do and I see that in you. I love the lost tower diaries I've been waiting for a long time for the first one of the year today January 21, 2023. I'm just grateful for all that you do and all you show to me and all of the experiences I've watched over the years. I've been a subscriber for over a year now and I watched everything that you guys have done. I just wanna tell you a special thank .
Tonia
So impressed with Alex's carpentry skills. She knows how to use that hand saw and handle for marking. Must have learned them from Gail. Organization inspiration.
Thank you for being kind to the spider.
Again you did it. The Northern DIY guru's. You are amazing. So incredibly well done. You are an inspiration. ❤
Gail, you are a rock star. I'd never let a spider run on me. Your patience and sincerely is so wonderful. I have the utmost respect for you. Your a kind and caring human being. Bravo
Nothing comes easy. It takes hard work and termination. Job well done ladies.
What a relief when it’s all done. Can you let us have a peek in the door before you start putting more stuff in it?
Great team work!
Today is a day of " garden shed larking"!
lol “everyone needs a cauldron”
Funnel spider, love that you gave it a new home location. 🕸
The ladies have mad skills! Who else gets so relaxed watching these ladies sweat and toil?
Out of all the amazing things you were finding in that shed……I’m sorry I did a bit a a scream and got sudden chills when I saw how big that spider was!!! And you just picked it up out of the bag a took it to the garden….woman you are my hero!! I have horrible arachnophobia for most spiders, I scream like a girl when I see them!! 🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣
That was a skin crawling moment for me as well. I would *not* have touched that bag again for a while! (Except to tip it over so the spider could get out) I’d sooner deal with a mouse than a spider!
That wasn't a cleanout - it was an archaeology dig! Wonderful photography with the scenery and plants with the dew on them. Cheers!
Mmmmmm fresh laundry!
You two work so well together love watching all you do hugs
All work demands a certain sacrifice, if you can't sacrifice time effort and hard work don't expect anything great to come out of it. You both do great work.
Gail, you are awesome! Thank you for saving the spider! I love spiders. I hate bugs. Spiders eat bugs... that makes them my heroes... I love them. You two did an amazing job straightening up that shed and getting everything all back in there nice and neatly... Now a wasp or bee or other stingy insect would have me screaming in terror... but spiders I can handle...
Hebrew meanings for Gail and Alex:
Gail- a derivative of Abigail, means “gives joy” and “my father rejoices”.
Alex- a derivative of the Grecian Alexandros, and means “defender and protector”.
You two are just like your namesakes! ❤😊
I love to watch you two work together, as it makes me feel like being at home with my family. My daughter is roughly Alex’s age, and I wished she lived at home, still! You two are so blessed to have such family, land, animals and talent.
Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I am a forever student, in addition to working in the fields of medicine and science, so I am ALWAYS studying. Your videos are a welcome retreat (avoidance therapy). 😅
I love the history and lore and whimsy you two bring to everyone’s lives.
Did you know that playing in mud is a literal mood-booster? There are soil-based organisms that enter a person’s bloodstream from the skin, and they elicit endorphins. No wonder gardeners are such peaceful people! All of that nature and exercise while getting all of that oxygen to your tissues and vitamin D from the sun- so healthy and wholesome.
Do you two have plans for a greenhouse in the future? My dream job would be to own my own little organic greenhouse and keep animals. I know the stuff you do around your property is difficult, and you deserve to enjoy the spoils of it! You are blessed to have fields and fields of land for planting wildflowers, herbs and even weeds (dandelion, thistles, poppies, hyssop-a personal favorite- hyssop, lamb’s ear… and the one you two probably wince hearing: nettles 😮😅) to use, store and sell.
You even have beautiful oak and chestnut trees that are very healthy! Have you hunted for mushrooms on your property yet? If you kept some wooly piggies, they would eat all of those fallen nuts, but even those can be harvested!
What bounty. 17:51 Truly, this music is fitting for such historically epic blessings. Imagine what was planted a thousand years ago, or what types of stock they kept. All of those troughs and beautiful hand-hewn stone you guys always lug around are amazing relics. They are ancient. One day, you will come across an amazing relic and we’ll all be here to celebrate with you! 🥰
Have a great day, you two.
Love and hugs from Wisconsin❤🙋♀️
Looks alright from the back! (Where the Spider lives!)
Gail, you are very brave to have picked up that gigantic spider! It could have crawled up your sleeve! You ladies have done an excellent job, can barely wait to see the finished project!
Love the photography and music.
Mission accomplished!!! Well done both of you, Mother and daughter best teamwork!!!
This is one of those kinda things you put off but you feel so accomplished when you finally do it. Great job!
Good work on your tool shed. We love coming along on all of your room makeovers and outdoor builds and manicures.
Fab shelves! You clever kids. UK 22.1.2024, 10pm Wind 70mph gusts! Take care.
Gail,I’ve handled large pythons quite happily but I would have ran if I saw that spider. Totally irrational I know 😬😂
Good afternoon Ladies! Looking forward to your video!😊
Oh Gail! How brave you are with that spider! Eek! 😮
“Is it sore?” 😂pun intended! 😂
I bet there’s carpenters tipping their hats to you both!👍
Great organisation. Love it!😻 thank you.💐💐
Alright if you've got a forest of new trees!
I enjoy watching you guys around the homestead. You’re so inspiring.
Gail is a star for rehoming the giant spider. I'm not keen on them but been brought up not to kill them.
I’m was shocked when you pick up the spider. I would have ran screaming calling my husband to dispatch it. It would have taken me days to go back inside the shed.
Hello. Again I am 69 years old and have watched all of your videos, u make my days filled with joy and happiness always, I just love u both, all that u do! You are amazing too me, thankyou. I have also learned so so m
Much!
a clean shed w/new shelves for organization is a beautiful thing. nice work.
❤Luv ya bunches @Alex and @Gail❤
Yay!!!! Another video 🥰✌️🤍
Nice to see that I am not the only one who has a mess in their shed. haha You are very brave to pick up that spider!
You might look into getting yoyrselves a jigsaw❤Nice work Ladies!!
The ammo box was full of stone mason tools the block and tackle was not off of a ship but for lifting heavy stones the ones from ships are usually wood
I make my partner clear out the shed don't like creepy Crawley's 😂 but I do find it very therapeutic painting the shed and fencing 😊
That’s the worst thing about sheds to me! Especially when you live in a wooded area like me and the spiders can really take over if you let them. Or that one spider that just *had* to live in the boxes!😖
I cleaned out my shed this summer. Amazing the items you keep that you think you will need and then never use them. I live on a busy road and it’s so fun to take items that have potential but I don’t need. Slowly everything disappears before the garbage man comes by.
Gail you are amazing you are quite the spider wrangler 🕷️🕷️🕷️! curious and curious re where you able to find any waste, or where you making the garden shed more easily accessible and organized? I think both you and Alex Rock!
You two are so handy! I loved watching the process. Now everything has it's place.
I just use big cement blocks to set my shelves on, your way much fancier 😊
Fab vlog! Love how creative you are, using bits and pieces to add shelving to the shed. You guys are the best at everything!
Thankyou girls. I love this channel, think it's better than Northern Mudlarks in fact. Love you both. Janice. Xx love to animals too.
When you opened the shed door, I thought, what a daunting task ahead lol. I think with the shelves up it looked much more workable. You both did well. Really enjoying these videos thank-you xxx
I often wonder how much of our lives we spend just moving things around. We do it to ourselves, but it seems like stuff is a gas, it expands to fill the space.
It looks so good in the end. Much more efficient, now. Well done, you two! 👏👏👏🥰
Your shed looks like a mini version of my garage. I like you two even more now🙂
Gail, you're a better person than I. I would've let a spider that size go right on about its business and right into the garbage dump. I don't mind tiny spiders on me, but I will not actively try to catch a spider that big, even with work gloves on. They just give me the heebie jeebies too much. Good work on the shed reorganizing.
Fair play to you ladies, you are well capable of DIY... fantastic job.
You are so knowledgeable about so many things like all the things you find on the old dump site ❤
You ladies are amazing and fabulous! Your work is skillful … your finished product must of looked awesome! Thank you for sharing 💐 see you next week!
Awesome work ladies ! It's so nice to see Alex's hair pulled back !
One more job Tackled. It is a Labor of Love, Isn't it ?
Great job. You are increasing the value of your property!!
I love seeing the occasional fast forward shwoo!!! 🦚
What a lovely garden. And now, a lovely garden shed!
Those hoop toys were quite popular at one time in the US. When my son was small, my Dad made him one on his small forge. He quite enjoyed playing with it.
Gail that clean was amazing, I have done things like this and it’s hard work. Great work 👍🏻 I like the shelves you and Alex made, it’s nice to have everything in it’s place. Have a fabulous week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Sooo much better and what a great feeling it gives you. I have a spare room and walk in robe I need to do that to, but I'll save it for Winter - it's too hot here in Adelaide at the moment. Tomorrow will be 41 degrees!! Thank goodness we have a decent air conditioner. Thank you my lovelies xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
You are brave Gail there is no way I would of had that spider 🕷️ running up my arm I don’t even do small spiders 🕷️ I have arachnophobia 😳
Great job! So hard to believe all of that stuff was inside that little shed. I just did the same thing in the back of my workshop, I threw out 14 huge bags of stuff that had accumulated. I don't miss any of it. I enjoy the videos on this channel!
I've been known to liberate a critter or two, I really hate the sound of squished bugs 😝It's amazing how many things you find in an old shed that you haven't seen in years, forgotten items and of course lots of dirt and junk. Good for you, another project finished ! 🥰🥰 Love and hugs xx
I have been putting off sorting my shed out!! Better get on with it! Spring is just around the corner and will be needing to find my tools again! Thank you for the inspiration guys! You really do keep me on my toes 😊
Always makes me aporehensive when i see you guys saw blades coming towards your bodies and body parts. Small chain saw included. Blades can jump and grain can split suddenly. That spider would have given me a coronary 😂
Well done! Love the cabinet on the shelf; it is so helpful in organizing the small stuff.
I wanted to see how everything was reorganized after the shelves and such....
I have a shed clean out on my Spring agenda in 2024
Your two hard working Ladies Love your Chanel ❤
Oh that spider was gorgeous! What a stunner.
It sort of looked like a cartoon spider!🕷
Your hair looks beautiful tied up.
Job well done ladies.
I love the iron ship’s pulley. I want one so that I can use it for a plant hanger.
Great video, Gals! I could have watched another thirty minutes of it.
Great job. I enjoy organising rooms and even sheds, but getting started is the key. Once I'm in it, its very satisfying. (Although if I had filmed it, I may have needed to edit out all the swearing when things didn't quite go to plan 😄) Thanks once again for sharing part of your life with us.
Very well done Gail for dedication and well done to both of you for seeing it through! Very Handy DIY ladies and of course the wildlife thinking about it early on for which I am sure they would love the spiders
Thanks for sharing a quality Vlog
Always inspiring, Gail and Alex!
We have a detached garage of shame and I have a craft room of shame.😡😁 You ladies did a good job. I would of freaked out over that spider. Eek!
Adding shed organisation to my to do list, feeling inspired. Hope I don’t find spider as big as that one 😧. Thank you Gail and Alex🙂🦚
Only Gail would think of recycling a wasp nest into paper!!!!
You two are impressive 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Brilliant job! Can I borrow you please ??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations you did it 🎉
Hi there I love both of your channels. Well done. My mother always said that everybody has an “emergency drawer” where everyone shoves the bits and pieces when unsure where to put them. Plus the drawer is full of bits from a quick tidy up.
Thank you for thinking spiders are worth keeping! He was a whopper. You added shelves, which looks like the other shed might need also. Lovely video as always.
Well done! 👍🏻😁
That's not a shed it's a Tardis! You should paint it blue!😁
You know I didn't know you had another UA-cam but it was the funniest thing that when I hadn't seen your face but saw your back walking across to the clothesline I recognised you😄!
Good on you saving the spider! My sister lived in London years ago (i'm in Canada) and I was visiting only to hear her yell! It was a huge spider - probably 4times the size of yours. She freaked because I chased it around and finally caught it and released it outside. Our spiders are nowhere so big!👀 I love a house spider because they eat the fruit flies!👃
Love you have the peacocks! Actually I realized who I was watching when I saw them!
I'll save this UA-cam as well. Enjoy the way both of you interact, the artistic way you film, and just basically you guys! Keep up the good work!🙂👍
Those finials are beautiful!
You need more shelves
You girls are doing and amazing job! I would have been screaming in terror having that spider crawling on me Gail. Alex has a builders heart. Loved this episode. Mary
I don't have time to watch now,but I'm sure there are horrors within the spooky old shed! What's in there? Lions? Tigers, bears? Oh,my!❤
Those plastic tree covers can be wrapped together to take alot less storage room. We have them for the young orchard for the winter months.
My first post did'nt come out!! Well done you two that looks so much better now . The thing I find with having a clear up is that you always knew where it was when you're in a mess and when you want it again I can never find it. YOu made a good job of the shelving etc. well done.
Aloha Alex & Gail! What a lot of work! I too just cleaned out my shed, except mine had a car load of clothing in it that I donated. The rest of the stuff I threw away. Now, I find myself slowly filling it again with more of the same! (lol)! btw I have a feeling that someone might send you an electric Saw at some point!☺ Very nice shelves accomplished without it tho! Next in the Summer you can paint it?
Or a battery powered saw
It took me three days last year to clean out and organise our shed. Like you, I could not get in to find anything. So satisfying now to go and get anything you need out knowing you can get in and know exactly where it is. Good job. We needed a finished pic though.
So inspiring and Alex’s drill noise brought me so much joy 🙏 well done 👍 proper job as we say here in Somerset
The shed needed a good clean, etc.
Well done ladies.
Perhaps you can buy kind of L shaped brackets to attach on the right wall.
Then you can lie the standing tools/poles horizontally against the wall. Use the wall space. You could create 2 or three levels on the shed wall to lie the poles instead of them standing and being a pain.
Anyway you did a great job.
I would love to see inside the shed to see what it looks like finished. 😁
If you did some cross beams on the ceiling you could move storage up…like tools etc…also on the inside of the door , you could make hooks for tools
ooooooh, i wanted to see the "done" stored room at the end! well done!
