Feels good to be back with your weekly episode reviews aiya. Never gets tired of GOT things. 🙌🏼🖤✨ In my pov, For an opening episode of a new season, the episode is bad! Really loved the beginning of the episode, cold winds of winter with the view of the North and the Stark theme track, Winterfell and the Wall - literal goosebumps 🐺😍 The fact that they referenced Queen Alysanne’s dragon refused to fly past the Wall, Jace’s look after seeing beyond the wall, that sinister vibe reminded us about “Death” and that nostalgia quickly turns into a frustration on how they (D&D) ruined such a perfect storyline 😤. Targaryen theme track playing while Meleys landing on dragon mount with Rhaenys was on point. We also got a chance to get a peep inside the dragon mount where riders mount and unmount their dragons. The highlight of the episode, my heart broke for Rhaenyra. Emma D’Arcy expressed the emotions in Rhaenyra’s situation so well that they didn’t have to speak at all. That was top notch nonverbal acting or as the popular saying, “Emma ate and left no crumbs!”. I was literally in tears when Rhaenyra found the remains of her son. Syrax mourned with her, what a moment to showcase the dragons bond with it’s rider. Just like Visenya’s stillbirth scene back in S01E10. Reunited with Jace at Dragonstone, how Jace try to speak of his achievements as his duty to the queen while struggling to keep his emotions to himself, the hug they shared it was so overwhelmingly emotional. Also I loved the forehead to forehead moment with Daemon. Those scenes didn’t require a verbal communication at all. “….in the end, honor and decency will prevail”……. hypocrisy at its peak 🥴 After all it was Rhaenyra’s old chambers. Aemond is the only thing I like about the greens. Surprised by his admittance to the fact that Alicent usurping the throne after Viserys’s death though and seems like his allegiance only lies with his brother Aegon the king, neither Alicent nor Otto. Shows how he sees his mother for the hypothetical person she is. “Her grace speaks with two tongues”. And now that Aegon’s heir is dead, Aemond is next in line for the throne isn’t it. In my pov, in season 1 the writers tried to make most of the major characters grey, enabling the viewers to weigh all the good and bad points of each team before making the choice, portraying how complex and layered those characters are and in this season so far in this episode they clearly are biased. Showing the greens for who they are, a chaotic group of people who have no control over what’s happening now that they face the aftermath of usurping the throne. Can’t wait to see how it unrolls in future episodes. And finally, B&C 😐. We were robbed of one of the most horrifying moments of dance of the dragons. But the background music served 👌🏻. Nevertheless, felt so bad for Haelena, the emotions she expressed with little what they gave her on screen are on point. She was shocked. Traumatized by the realization of what’s going to happen next and there’s nothing she can possibly do to avoid it from happening. Her only choice was to take Jaehaera, the only child she can save and leave the room. That’s pretty solid acting on Phia’s part.

And that jace breaking down while stating the updates was truly phenomenal acting 💯 they did a wonderful job choosing the cast. In the 2nd episode agon said " fuck dignity i want revenge " thats what alicent doing with cringing ploe. ( jealousy of raneyra 😅 )

From my count there were two kingsguard with Aegon when b&c was happening, lord commander was obviously occupied, 3 other kingsguard have joined Nyra leaving one(Ser Harrold). So far It looks like neither teams have restored anymore guards.
