Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I recently got a "new to me" 2011 Avalon, with only 34K on the clock. I want to do some of the essential maintenance myself, and your video was very informative. 😎

Thanks! Replacing the filter by just undoing the 3 clips on the side is a pain in the butt! Had to fight with the new filter to fit in for about 10 minutes before I finally got it seated!

Thank you very much for the video. Only one flaw... when you said "easy peasy". I get into a fight with my air filter box EVERY time. BAD DESIGN & not "easy peasy".

Thank you for your kind words. I could not rhyme "Way over complicated" with anything.

great video. when I changed mine I vacuumed the dirt out of the bottom. Did I miss you doing that?

Thank you, I always clean out the box but, apparently I did not show that in this video. Perhaps you might notice at reassembly that the box is clean.

If the end of one of those hoses is already cracked and not staying on the filter box, could I try cutting it back to where the crack ends and reattaching it before going through the hassle of replacing the whole hose?

Yes that work. I have done that myself. If you find yourself short, there are through connectors available at auto parts stores to allow you to add to the length. Or you can buy more tubing and replace the whole length and you will not have to worry about a dry rot crack forming somewhere else in the line.

Good luck, take your time. There is no need to be in a hurry. The air box lid is not a fun job to deal with.

I got a 2007 avalon mines has a small gap in the corner i could see piece of the air filter but tabs close without any force ..do it supposed to be like that?

      Yes, actually that is correct.
You should be able to see a part of the filter.
A close examination should reveal that the part is not broken but rather that the cutout is designed into the part. I am not familiar with the design thoughts behind this feature.

Lmao! You realize the companies like Fram and Wix MAKE the filters for OEMs. Just be sure to buy a quality bit. Cheers
