    Hi, I’m Zoe! (Pronounced like Zoey) I’m a 26 year old from Montreal making videos about my REAL life. After quitting my management consulting "dream job", then being laid off from a startup job, I decided to take a chance and work for myself. I'm now mainly focused on UA-cam (my absolute passion) and side-hustle contracts in the copywriting and admin fields.
    My videos centre around work, gentle productivity, mental health & personal wellness, with a touch of fashion, tech, and whatever else I'm living. My goal is to be open & honest ALWAYS and for my channel to be a fun, inspiring place where we can set goals and live our best lives together. I would love for you to subscribe 💝

    13:19 just wanted to note that I also thought buying a car was not considered an emergency, so I felt guilty using some of my emergency to purchase a car after my old car got totaled. I was watching Aja Dangs video about emergency funds and she said “if you need your car for work then that IS an emergency and that’s what it’s there for!” Which made me realize that buying a car (for me personally) was an emergency because I use it to get to and from work and to buy groceries, give my mom rides, etc. it’s ok to have used your emergency fund for that Zoe :)

    My goal is to what 'enough' is -- both financially and emotionally. Understanding this helps me invest and save with better purpose while at the same time not feeling guilty when I spend money on things that make me and my family happy. This is why tracking finances is so important!

    My financial goal is similar to yours. I want to not be afraid of my finances. I feel like it’s easy to not look at them and let things auto pay without actually having a good visual understanding of what’s happening. The digital tracker would be so helpful to actually start documenting everything and be able to see visually where I am as well as see myself working towards those goals.

    Loved this! One of my financial goals is to land a job after I complete my master's this year that hits my salary target. This goal really matters to me because I will be moving to a new city (also Ottawa!) and want to be able to comfortably afford rent while enjoying life in a new city. Job hunting has been a long, intense and sometimes overwhelming process, but I haven't given up hope.

    One of my biggest and most time sensitive goals is to move into my own apartment in Chicago this summer, and budgeting for this change. I've been living at home and saving the majority of my paychecks, and I know moving out and adding on expenses with rent and utility bills will be an adjustment. Having either of these budgeting tools would be a big help!

    Another goal you could add for a longer term is a Maggie emergency fund of $5k so you always have a backup if something happens. I’m working on that for my pup and works as a sinking fund for yearly appointments and biannual med purchases. I also keep any savings above my “one month ahead” or smaller quick access savings in a high yield savings account.

    Hey. I’m wondering why you wouldn’t pay off the credit line (which cost you interest) instead is saving money for emergencies and such. You can always use the credit line for emergencies if that comes up before you save up more money. That way you are saving all the interest from the balance on credit line!

    • @ZoePritchard
      @ZoePritchard  Рік тому

      Hi! I just paid it off for that reason :) But in the beginning, the insurance cost (which was on the line of credit) would have drained my savings and I didn't want that. Although it makes sense to save on the interest, emotionally I wanted to still have some savings.

  • @xCrypth
    @xCrypth Рік тому

    Just a thing about you using your line of credit to pay off a credit card. yes, a line of credit has lower interest but the line of credit accrues interest daily, while credit card is monthly. so if you pay something on your credit card, and pay it before the due date, you essentially have 0% interest. but if you use your line of credit to pay it off, and don't pay off the line of credit until a few days later, technically you're losing money as the interest is already happening per day

    • @ZoePritchard
      @ZoePritchard  Рік тому

    Not a financial expert but i would say get rid of the car payment I’ve been there before i would say use the 4k to buy a used car then you can free up that extra money from car payment to emergency fund / other debts

  • @KourttneyL
    @KourttneyL Рік тому

    For the car loan, it really just depends on your specific living situation. IF you can “let it ride” and pay it off monthly with no worries, then Sure. Go ahead. If you don’t want to then you can pay it off earlier.

    My goal this month was to continue to contribue $500 to my emergency fund and put money aside for my 2024 taxes because they scare the crap out of me too.
    Do you have a video where you talk about all the different accounts you have? I want to start making different accounts for different goals like you but I feel a bit overwhelmed with having too many accounts and was wondering how you organize/keep track of all of yours 😅
