    You don't need to justify a single element of that purchase. You work hard. You could afford it. You got it. Brava diva! Rewarding our hard work with an occasional big treat is a wonderful thing---it's part of a healthy balance in life. You owe zero excuses.

    It's hilarious how much I talk about your videos with my boyfriend! Your videos have helped me get my finances straight in my head, I have been budgeting with the help of your videos for multiple trips this year, just went to Amsterdam and went over budget by 75 euro but it was an amazing holiday 😁 just the fact that I know how much I've spent is fantastic and a great step forward. I bought a binder for cash envelopes to start this month so I'm looking forward to getting started on that too! I love watching your videos, you're the same age as me and it feels like a sister/ friend chat when I watch your videos ❤️

    the cash envelope system changed my life too, I have been able to be more comfortable with my money. there was one paycheck that I didn’t cash out and I spent it so much quicker. I still paid bills but I noticed a HUGE difference. I think it’s because I’m a visual person

    ❤great video Zoe! As I started the video I immediately ran and made a hot chocolate, grabbed my journal, and started making my budget along with you. Currently I feel a lot of anxiety, guilt and embarrassment around my finances. I am still low income and don’t make nearly as much as a lot of 30 year olds, and I noticed in my observations of my spending that I have a pattern of spending out of fear “ what if I never have money for….” And I’ve realized that no matter the amount I make, the fear that’s rooted in my spending will always hinder me. And like what you’ve said in your videos changing our mindset is such an important behavior. And something else I’ve only really let sink in is that the amount of money I spend and the amount of material things won’t pacify my child self or the self that felt she needed something- and shopping can’t heal my emotional scars or fix the things in the past that I wish could be fixed or wish never happened. So that’s been a really helpful lesson and I wouldn’t have even started thinking of my finances being linked with my emotions or really anything deep had I not watched your videos. And although this comment is super long 😅 I did want to share that right when I got paid today I put 30% away in savings, and I’m very grateful for my income and the fact that I have any amount of money to save ❤ thanks for another wonderful video. I’m off to read all the lovely comments and chats here 😊! Xo Kira

    I love your videos because everything account for...i love your credit card envelope because it bring accountability, when you stop using it to pay your credit card then accountability stop... it is money that should have been paid by cash but you pay by credit card so it is only right that you pay the credit card. It is not extra left over money. Please don go down that road. I now have a treat yourself and credit card envelope because of you . Thanks for sharing....

    Hi Zoe! I messaged you last week on IG about how much I love your videos (it’s Kate! Haha) and I’m so glad you posted ❤️ Since your monthly income fluctuates, how do you decide on the total amount to set aside for your cash envelopes (vs savings or debt payments for example)? Was there ever a time you realized you’re earning less than you expected at the beginning of the month, and had to change how much you put in the envelope?
    Thanks and happy belated bday! ❤️

    • @ZoePritchard
      @ZoePritchard  10 місяців тому

      Hii thank you 💖 Such a good question! I've never had to pivot because I always save up the $1,000 before it comes time to stuff my envelopes. So I'm confident throughout the month. What I will do it sometimes change the amount if I've either a) spent a lot the previous month or b) anticipate a lower earning month coming up, but always at the beginning of the month. It helps me to just commit to a number and stick to it throughout the month. I think if I were to panic and change the amount, it'd make my anxiety much worse xx

    I know people who inherited millions & lost it in 5 yrs! They still have spending problems & now they have a family. They recently bought themselves a porsche cayenne when they don't have a property (they had heaps of inherited properties before but had to sell them).
    I also do know people who are worth millions who are tight assess and spending a dollar is painful 😅
