There are two coils. The main coil is energized from the battery a fraction of time after the pendulum has passed. The polarity is such that the pendulum is repelled i.e. it is given a driving impulse. The transistor switches the current to the main coil. The second coil is energized by the incoming pendulum. The energy in the second coil controls the base of the transistor and turns it on.
You can do the same with a reed switch or a Hall element.
Its good.

Nice video using NPN transistor, But this circuit of Pendulum is quite inefficient, as compare to the Oscillating circuit for Magnetic pendulum using NPN transistor and Capacitors 😏🙂.

Not at the Moment Mathew, But I will be building the Electromagnetic Pendulum with Reed switch and Single Solenoid coil in the near Future 🙂.

You say in your heading, how to create an electronic magnetic pendulum. You give no instructions as how to make it other than what you show in a video of a swinging or I should say, a spinning rod with a magnet on the end. Sorry but this is a no how to.

ok so to build it use a mystery transistor and random wire guage and who knows how many turns. Wind two coils for who knows why and connect them together any friggin way you feel like. Now connect a random voltage battery to it and it should work just fine.
now waste everyone's time making a stupid video on it.
