Clearly you guys didn't know the insides of a bamboo., Haven't you notice the pitcher is almost the same size where did the guy makes a hole. Upper and lower part. That's a single pocket or a hollow cavity of bamboo. Yes it can have water inside depends where the bamboo grows coz not all areas have abundant source of water. The water is drinkable too the bamboo itself acts as a filter.
Just curious... but does drilling holes kill the bamboo stalk? If so, could it be preserved by plugging the holes... maybe to collect water from again at a future date?
Drilling small hole does not effect bamboo it will seal again after 1 week. You can drill many holes in it and as long as the bamboo stand still it will never die.

Esa agua NO es agua estancada, porque todos los días se renueva por si sola , por eso para cortar una guadua, toca cortarla dentro de las 3 y 5 a.m. porque en la noche se desocupa toda, si se corta en el día con agua esa guadua es posible que se pudra muy pronto, así no sirve para construcciones, muebles o muchas cosas que se hacen con ella
