    Richard Perkins at Ridgedale Permaculture found that a determining factor was the take-off zone, more than the dive-bomb zone. If the bird doesn't think it has room to take off, it won't dive bomb in. Maybe some sort of fringe or netting or screen hanging from the higher roofline would suffice.

    Just a hint for your Skid Steer hydraulics, you can modify a trigger clamp to help you (or Jonah) complete the connection at the couplings.

    Perhaps, just for 1%, a 12" - 18" curtain of bird netting (like used on fruit trees) around the edge of that Shaw would give an extra layer of aerial protection. It would deter swooping in without blocking air flow or any movement of the birds on the ground and weight would be negligible.

    Justin if you find the meat shaw is too high for the chickens maybe you could fashion 1 foot drop down sides. Or maybe put on take off sides

    Love your videos, I just wanted to bring up the idea of coffee chaff for brooder bedding. It’s a byproduct of coffee roasting and most times free and smells amazing!

    I love howGideon has become the chicken master and all around great helper around the farm all this in about 6 months I’m so impressed with all your family what with your young baker chef 👩‍🍳 Lily I wish I could taste her cakes 🎂 they look awesome and those meals mmmm add her milking skill and now Young Henry is starting to help around the place with his siblings help you are living the dream and when Jonah gets his hip sorted there will be no stopping him and his engineering skills and that will ease the load for Jonas who stepped up with out being told what great guys they are .

    Oh Mr Brown you are such a hard worker…look at him watching and learning at such a young age…brilliant…yea it was time they wer out in fresh air but boy ther noisy ha…the turkeys are getting big soon the only thing that cld pick them up from the air wld be an eagle….why white birds wldnt it be safer getting dark birds so predators can’t pick them out so easily…the fit farmer Mike said he’s making your Chickasaw 500 next he loves them…

    How do I convince my husband that having chickens is a good idea?
    I realy want some! I am homesteading on a tiny scale, with tomatoes, strawberryes, potatoes and I have a greenhouse I am building any day now. To me chickens is next! He is not a fan.

      @@tonygrimes13 I've raised chickens in the past and there's a little work involved. Poo must be dealt with and feed and water must be supplied. They need housing which is secure from predators and weather.
