I saw her from a distance and exclaimed "Look, a cat!" And just before I pulled out my phone to film, I said "Do you think she will approach us??" then she did! We felt so lucky to be greeted by her! 😍

@@ParvisRadji I lived on a dead-end road and that seemed to be where people would drop off the cats and dogs they didn't want. Over the years we had quite a variety of "pets". Shame on those who abandon animals.

Why do you wonder? Just bc a cat is affectionate doesn't follow that their owner isn't good to them. In fact the cat is very healthy looking and used to affection means they are well cared for and happily assimilated with human contact. There's no head shyness, or hesitation as one would expect in a cat that was neglected or starving, or mal treated. I'm sure the owners love this cat as much as the cat enjoys their life.

I had a regular Calico named Boo Boo, she's the best.
I've met several calicos and only one was actually friendly. The others were only friendly for about 5 minutes and then would swipe and hiss at me as their painful not very nice way of saying "that's enough leave me alone now."
She has a lot to say!

DILUTE CALICO!!! A rare type of calico. I own one i got through a rescue shelter. We named her nala. She is sweet and cautious around ppl she doesnt know but still likes human affection one she gets to know u. She is also very smart, does tricks. Paw, high five, spin, and up. She also learned as a kitten to open doors and drawers on her own.
A dilute calico is born 1 out of every 1000 cats. Their coloring consists of white, apricot instead of orange, and silver gray instead of black. They can have both stripes and splotches/patches

@@ParvisRadji ur welcome. I didnt know what a dilute calico was either or knew they existed until we adopted her. Then after we had her, they told us she was a dilute calico. I always wanted a calico as a child. I never got it. I'm now 32. And I feel fortunate I not only got my dream cat unintentionally, but a rare type. Not in my dreams did I imagine to own one. She is my baby. She follows me everywhere and is very dog like. Dilute calicos can have stripes and or the average splotches.

@@ParvisRadji I own 2 cats. The second we rescued also. We named her Padme. She is the youngest one. She was very shy and hid for a month before finally coming up to us for cuddles and affection. Beforehand, we had to catch her. When we did, she purred and didn't struggle. We knew she wanted love just by those signs, but she was scared of humans. Still is, except us. She is a gray mackerel tabby.

But the cat has a tendency to lay on my chest which honestly feels like a hug 🤗.... But at the same time your chest gets sore because she weighs a little bit if she lays there too long.

I would often see a calico like this on my Saturday walks when I lived out east. She was so lovely, would sit on my lap all day gettings pets if she could. God I miss her 🥲

I have one that (she is beautiful) but unfortunately my husband won’t allow her inside the house. She is a stray calico. She is super affectionate. I have bought her several toys she loves to play with and I also feed her 2 x a day. She only wants to be around us. It breaks my heart she cries at both the back door and the front door as she can see us inside. She wants to come in so badly. I have had her scanned but sadly she didn’t have a chip. The woman said someone dumped her in our neighborhood. She is just looking for her forever home. I am unable to convince my husband as he is a dog person. Please let me know if you or anyone you know would like her. I can give you all of the food I bought along with all of the toys she now has that she enjoys outside. I live on the East Coast as well in Massachusetts.

This cat looks a lot like the stray that showed up here, back in December ‘22. She sleeps inside during the day and wants out at night. She’s long haired and talks a lot too.
