i really like the concept of a Kominka turned co-working space!
hopefully the base ajito property doesn't have too many issues with the foundation/leveling that it becomes burdensome.

Thank you! Personally I feel it's too big of a project to take on without professional help, but definitely worth the efforts to make use of the kominka!

I would like to see about renovating kominka but still researching regions that might be suitable (for a foreigner to obtain a visa then purchase a traditional styled akiya)

Renovation of a machiya & kominka is quite similar as they are both traditional "Ishibadate" style house with mud walls and etc. There are many other YT channels with kominka renovations (mainly in Japanese).

Thank you for making these videos! They are very interesting and insightful. Do you see a trend if young people moving back to these rural areas and purchasing Kominkas or are they just buying them and renting them out?

Thank you for watching! Definitely more and more younger generations (20-30s) moving back to rural areas of Japan. I think it's more common that the Kominka houses are bought for their own residences or shops. Usually these kominkas are big enough to welcome guests like an AirBnb while the owner also lives under the same roof.
