Excellent tutorial, helpful hints, I marked the steering wheel to cover with felt tip pen in 3 places to insure correct alignment when putting back together. Would never have found the access to steering wheel retainer springs without your video, found a small flat head screw driver worked best. BTW My headlights came on when ignition switched on, wouldn't turn off. Thank You for saving me hours of struggling
My indicator has to be held with force to blink right or left which is dangerous, i need to open the switch contacts to fix it when i have the time. Your video helped me allot :-)
Top tip for everyone struggling to take the airbag unit off(because it took me 4hrs of messing around lol): sheer force isn't the answer, don't just start showing things in(like I did) feel your way around and fiddle gently to find the clip. I also pushed one in, held the screwdriver with my knee, then pushed another one from the other side, held it in and then used my hands to pull the unit. If you do it one at a time its a bit of a pain.
i know the video is 3 yrs old but i bought a 56 plate punto grande for £300 a few weeks ago which has the same issue, thankfully i can use this tutorial to solve, thanks man 👍🏼 one other thing, you’re stereo looks like an aftermarket one, how did you get it to work properly? i can get power to mine but nothing actually works. according to forums, it requires a live power feed from either cigarette lighter or hazard light button.
Just one thing, the bolt that holds the steering wheel in mine Grande Punto was a T50 torx, not a T45 as you said. Don't know if it changes from one model to another, but at least in mine was different. Just a note to other people.
Hello mate, I have a Grande Punto 1.2 07 plate. I have your same issue whereas my airbag light is on and headlights are always on. So I guess a replacement of the indicator would fix it?
Nice video.. Question.. i have a left hand driven Punto.. When i take a roundabout 3/4 I turn on my left indicator, but when go onto the round about it quickly stops the left indicator... Other cars I had kept blinking... Is this a punto problem? I have replaced the complete steering housing, but still the same problem.

@@mrsupersman Yes my guess aswell as the airbag seems to be sticking out a tiny bit more than it was originally so I'll try and take it off and see, helpful video none the less

Should have fitted the stalk with cruise control seen as you were already taking the old one off. Good video anyway!

I had no such issue, but may differ on newer models
Did you need to input your radio code after doing this?
No code, just reset and had to resave my channels
After doing this successfully (lights now turn off) I now have a airbag failure message, do you know what could cause this?
I can only imagine that is related to the reinstallation of the steering wheel airbag ...
