One thing I think Midbeast could have mentioned is that the ionian boots purchase actually allows ady to get a tp advantage on graves after first back meaning he can look for an easy map play.

My favorite thing of shyvana is always having ult up so fast when you are ahead because they cant stop your auto attack
Shyvana is so outdate that people have found success with like, a lot of different builds with her. Critvana, AssasinShyv, mageshyv, AP Bruiser Shyv, AD On-Hit Shyv, AD Bruiser Shyv, and Tank Shyvana. Right now in high elo soloq AP Bruiser with Frostfire+Demonic is the meta, but all these builds have existed on her throughout history and some of them still used even to this day
there is one thing I need to correct. I am personally a shyvana top player. I have played only shyv on a new account and get to D2 in about 120 games, which I think is decent. For shyv top, most rage matchup are just free. For example, Graves and Jayce as Midbeast mentioned are all very easy matchups for shyv. You can simply trade you health with their mana. And with second wind and Doran's shield, They literally just freak out. Shyvana's strength mainly comes from her massive e damage (both poke and its on-hit), as well as her no cooldown ult. I you would like to try it out, have two tricks for you. 1. play passive before 6. try to use your e on both last hit minions and enemies. 2. when you get to 6, it is when the game begins. playing against a hard melee matchup, you can use your first ult to trade health ( by which i mean bait, ult away and poke with e). the wave is being pushed my you e poke. Therefore you can reset and look for a kill in your next ult( which if you take the krugs or the plant, will possibly be ready in 40 seconds). this ultimate cd gap gives you a shit ton of chance to get solo
What runes do i go?
@@uramis00 always press the attack, triump, attack speed (againt strong level one champion e.g. darius sett kayle jax) and tenacity againt farm champion ( malph ornn shen stuff), last stand. secondary: I would choose from demolish/bone plating/second wind/overgrowth/unflinching. Demolish against weak farm champions( e.g. tanks). seconds wind is a must if you take flash ignite. But if you go for tp, you could do conditioning which is very good 12 minutes on. Take unflinching against the following champions( fiora since health is useless against her percentage true damage, camille, sett, jax and kayle). To put is simple, choose second wind/bone plating based on matchups (second wind against rage or tank and bone plating against burst) and choose one from demolish/overgrowth/unflinching. For build, I would opt for a early lucidity boot which is insane cuz you can get one more e during you ult. Next, buy frostfire gauntlet, demonic embrace, warmog's armor when you are ahead or anateme's chain when you are behind. For the rest, choose from the following, there are no specific orders, just different choice in different situation: morellonumicon, rylai's crystal scepter, gargoyle stoneplate, randuin's omen, force of nature or tytanic is also viable (but i never build this in tank shyv). For summoner's spell, I go for flash ignite 99% of the game and flash tp against gp. For ghost, you could take ghost against tryda but tryda is kinda weak this patch so flash is also enough. The reason I never take ghost is because shyv has a very decent burst damage even building full tank. At two items, e flash w auto q could be a half health combo to squishys. So flash is kinda important. ignite is also good for solo kills( yes i would try to go for solo kill every single game). Although shyv has decent scaling honestly with this tank build, shyv has also very good kill pressure when she reaches lv6. Moreover, if you are playing against a daruis or aatrox matchup, without ignite you are legit doomed, so get used to using ignite if you are more familiar with tp. For difficult matchups, the hardest ones are: fiora, camille, and enemy feed vn ad carry. so I ban vn every single game, just don't want to see this fking champion since i build full health and vn just one-shots me. fiora is similiar reason. camille is hard because she has very good scaling as well as good jungle gank pressure. So if you are plat and below, I would recommend you ban vn. if you are D2 and above, I would recommend you ban camille/ fiora. All raged matchups are fairly easy if you play it correctly( teemo jayce graves etc), use your e to poke and cs at the same time would be a great choice.

@@mingruizou8604 I've played my fair share of shyvana top over the last year and I feel like you are undervaluing grasp. If you play a free meele matchup where you get to aa a lot its really strong and grants a surprising amount of sustain in lane. I personally run it into champs like chogath, ornn, morde, and the likes.
And I always run ign tp, I feel like ghost isn't really needed with the W ms
@@despawned39 I agree with the ghost being useless. I personally never used ghost. But for using grasp, since i am playing on the chinese server, there are not really many tank players on this server. Fairly honestly, malph is likely the only tank on this server. Every single game of my is against things like darius aatrox gp fiora camille and so on. I would not disagree with you that grasp is very good against tanks. But in order to trade fairly with bruisers, PTA is so damn important. There is also one thing that is every good about PTA. The debuff you put on the enemy can not only enhance you own damage but also increase you ally's. Imagine you and the enemy tank facing each other in the front of a 5v5 teamfight. If you could proc PTA on him, you could make sure no tanks (being the same farm) could be more tanky than you. Even a lv14 ornn cannot out-tank you after PTA proced. PTA is not only good in lane but also effective during teamfight, while grasp is not that useful after the laning phase.
I remember the good old days of early seasons like season 3 and season 4 AD Shyvana top with Bork, Sunfire, Spirit Visage, Trinity she was a beast
When Darius from Moscow 5 of Diamondprox was perma invading the enemy jungle, they invented counter jungling mostly with Shyavana because of her clear speed.

I played a couple of games a year ago with sunfire or blunderer top with her and you're actually able to trade back a lots of champion cause of the base hybrid dommage and max hp dommage.
Her passive makes her gaining a lots of defensive stats even early which decrease the ability to get lethal on you.
Between the ability to shove + base dmg + r and w mobility you're a massive stat check destroying people.
her passive doesnt do anything til you kill a drag?

Now i test ap build for Shyvana Top - rush Rylais into Rocketbelt and play with First strike and Approach Velocity (overgrowth and conditioning/plating/second wind as second rune)

shyvana 1v9 champ play for farm and outscale. super safe, can be weakside warrior, something like ornn can outscale if u can hold your tower til then.

That's just standard jungle shyv build used for toplane. Shyv is weak pre6 and op in dragon form, still really dependent on her e cooldown. 3+ Item shyv with 1+ dragons(10 armor/mr for first dragon killed) is a monster but she can/should be abused early on.
not enough people know that in the start of league like season 1 or 2 shyvana was only seen as a top laner rather than jungle.
I do play shyvana top too, it is actually insanely easy to get 10cs p/min every game but winning games is another story since ad shyv does not scale well at all

since Tyler’s arc, korea doesn’t have the same magic that it used to. They are mechanically good, sure, but that comes from playing on 8 ping against 9 other people on 8 ping for ten years. Their builds and strategies aren’t particularly good or better than any other region’s.

As some one who otp shyvana top soon geting master for first time thx to her, i have still not been able to understand the support item. i find it better to use her fast clearing to take enemy(and your) jungle camps.when ever u have the lane pushed.
Extra vision since shyvana wants objectives, you get gold for dealing damage, and extra gold for your team. Your mid and bot laner can soak up side lane gold xp further feeding your team since you and sup don’t farm minions. You can still farm camps for the full gold.
I think the downside is you need to rely on your team to clean up plays, but that’s less of an issue in higher elo. I don’t think this will work is Plat and below.
i main shyvana top wit tp/ignite all the time, got around 300k points with her. I usually win my lane, but as long as my team is garbage trolling feeding or afking, i cannot do much. Low elo in EUNE is a pain. But when people see me shyvana top with tp/ignite instead of jungle, they jus go grazy, then when they see me rocking top they get excited.

I think its actually good, I think that AP Shyv is stupid, because its volatile and dependant on you to land one skillshot. Something like fed Xerath or something. I dont wanna play that thing. I did play Shyv jung few patches back and was 1v5 when I was fed. You could not stop snowball. Too much dps, dmg, survivability and mobility as well.

I've been running Shyvana mid man Shyvana is amazing at solo lanes. Level 6 you beat almost every champ in the game and it's pretty easy to survive till 6 cuz you are manaless and can farm with E from range
shyv mid is really fun, but the durability update will make it far harder, at least with the full AP version, will probably have to use PTA again lol, which realistically is probably better anyways. I just need to think of a way to make shyv ADC work...
@@ThundrStrik i used to play ap shyvana when i started running her but since switched to pta. frost fire demonic is just way better into almost everything. Even mages like Ahri or Viktor are just free once you get your frostfire. Durability update will make the pta shyvana even more op tbh
