I have a small metalworking shop. A few of my measuring tools are Mitutoyo. Very precise instruments. My acquaintances have asked me why I buy such expensive calipers when there are 20-30 euro ones in the store, they are the same and measure with the same accuracy. For an ordinary person, maybe so. But to me the difference is staggering. When you pick up a Mitutoyo caliper or indicator, you feel how smoothly and precisely it moves, how thick and light movment it is. The caliper can literally measure with an real accuracy of 0,01мм, while other mass calipers, although they also supposedly measure with such accuracy, actually give an error of at least 5-6 hundredths. Great tools, expensive but totally worth the price!
@@jansonteoh startet my apprenticeship 20 years ago, also starte with mitutoyo. still have the tools, still in perfect shape and precise as the day they were bought.
My Grandfather was a mechanical engineer and machinist, he used Mitutoyo measuring tools, 30 years ago I started using Mitutoyo measuring equipment as an Automotive Machinist. Their attention to detail is top drawer.
Great video. I still use my Mitutoyo digital caliper I purchased from the mid 90's. It's still my go-to for quick measurements on my lathe. Can't believe it's coming up on 30 years old.

Modern Ones, Yes. In the 1890's to 1920 or so the Sport of Schuetzen Shooting had many Winning Rifles that were American Made. Interesting history if you care to do some research.
I don’t _need_ a set each of steel and ceramic gauge blocks and a laser-etched lab grade surface plate to use as a needlessly precisely manufactured chess set, but it would be quite a conversation piece.

Here I am with a Mahr bench amp thinking I could gage blocks with some degree of precision and now I saw the facility at the factory. It's humbling.
When I was just starting out as a Machinist in the 70's, Made in Japan was just So So. Great to see your dedication to making the Best 👍.
I love Mitutoyo & use their measuring equipment every work day.
Always had a place in my toolkit for over 40 years , would love one of those branded jackets too!
I'd call it for what it truly is: a temple of precision
I worked at Mitutoyo in Brazil in the 1990s, a shame that it no longer exists in Brazil.
I still use my 150mm Vernier gauge, which I purchased as a 1st year apprentice in 1979. It always gets cleaned and stored in its case after use

I've never seen, or heard about ceramic being used for gage blocks. (wow)
I did unknowingly buy a counterfeit Mitutoyo caliper on Amazon once..
They are just as gud

Fantastic equipment. Highly recommend visiting the museum they have in Tokyo.
Thanks guys great video. I love all of my Mitutoyo measurement equipment.
Pretty cool to use the thing you’re making to measure the thing you’re making
Worked with these awesome precision tools...!!!!
❤❤❤ Thx mitutoyo ❤❤❤
CRAZY PRECISION
Now that starrett is dead officially I'll have to be a Mitutoyo guy.
Mitutoyo makes some amazing stuff. I use the quantumikes everyday. My favorite mikes I’ve ever used.
This is just Porn for us machinists and engineers 😅😅😅😅
