This shows the power of a strong director, actor and the music composer. On paper it's not such a strong scene, simple scene. But the way it is executed is perfect and elevates it to a strong, moving scene. The director kept it very real and a very good shot initially with the boy running and giving us an aerial view. If there was a list of top 10 best scenes ever of Indian cinema, this scene would be an unanimous choice in that list. This scene haunts you for life. Pure genius!!!
Exactly. I get emotional whenever i watch this scene and then the other scene where SRK goes to that farmer's home to collect the rent but finds him in deep poverty.
Especially when you realise this is the first time he drinks non-bottled water after returning to the country. The contrast that made his tiny insecurities and issues cease to exist is brilliantly portrayed without spoon-feeding.
The boy teach a lesson of Life. Not able to stop tears. Realistic Scene No Dialogue . Just Silent Scene with Background Score. That boy not crying. But we are crying. Water goes into our body and comes out from eyes . The boy life journey has shaken our life Journey. Our Soul stopped on Station. Emotionality Connected.
Lets take a moment to appreciate the hats off performance of SRK, whenever I watch this movie it gives me sense of peace and Inspiration. The best part that I like is love is portrait as a symbol of purity.
The way this scene was set up was wonderful. Everything before that scene culminated to changing Mohan and he for the first time didn't drink the packaged water. It was the first time I actually choked seeing a movie. It might be the first great movie I ever watched and after that I have watched it numerous times and every time I feel the same. Great work by Ashutosh Gowarikar and SRK.
I am so happy to find the comments here and so many people understanding the depth of the scene . We all have felt this helplessness , anger , sorrow and again helplessness when we witnessed such poverty stricken people who we know are being denied equal opportunities and do not have ample resources to live a dignified life . I feel world is a better place and our surroundings become beautiful if when we walk around roads and find happy and smiling faces but we often witness individuals who live without self respect let alone dignity . I may sound too pompous but this scene , I return to only to question my actions and what I have been able to do with little privilege I have to make difference to others life in order to make them smile .
This scene needs no acting to shed tears. Absolute masterpiece. Numb... the helplessness of SRK and the hope in the boy's voice to sell a glass of water for 25 paise...still counting balance change of 75 paise to return back after getting 1 rupee......no words. By far the best scene of the movie and awesome direction. Superb acting (read as raw emotion), and just plain simple dialogue "25 p ka 1 glass..." its all that takes to deliver a beautiful scene.
This scene hits your soul hard. So many things about India are said in such subtle way in this short scene. And the way SRK portrayed his emotions says a lot of how he is feeling without saying a word. No wonder he is where he is now.

And then wo Pehli baar Normal Paani pita hai ... Ussi Scenes ko Emotions k saath behtarin tarike se Execute kiya hai ki Aakhir Q ek minEral Water Pine wale Shakhs ne Normal Paani Piya ... kya Wajah thi iske pichhe Aur Iska Impact Kya Pada Mohan Bhargav k Character per
Why am I still crying and watching it again and again.....it touched something very deep in me, sometimes i see myself in that boy and sometimes in Shahrukh
Just wish SRK did more movies like this..What a complete film..Never fails to ignite the remotest of emotions inside a human being
But Audience Didn't accept it in the box office sad reality
SRK should never try anything new. His FAN flopped, Swades flopped, Paheli flopped, Dil Se flopped.
@@Elninojunior SRK should go with the Current Genre Which is Action Thriller Movies
Waiting for dunki 🔥🔥 Raj Kumar Hirani all time blockbuster
These 2 minutes of SRK were more valuable than Tushar kapoor and Arjun kapoor's acting careers.
Exceptional acting.
He himself is average.
@@netaji-thebritishslayer. He proved with his performance in Chak De India and My Name is Khan that he is an amazing actor with a high range of acting caliber.
@@netaji-thebritishslayergo and watch swades, chak de india, veer zara,my name is khan, baazigar, darr etc. You will get to know how good he is
Swades is a masterpiece. Very emotional scene.
Without a single word spoken by the main protagonist, this scene with it's emotional rhetoric that touches down the reality faced flaunted Mohan's vulnerability & helplessness. Amazing direction & above all acting skills of SRK. His eyes does almost everything what many couldn't do in action. Legendary staff
Many a times, the image of a superstar becomes a barrier for the actor. The same scene when he wipes his tear could have been a masterpiece if not for us being aware of the superstar SRK more than an actor SRK.
It is a masterpiece. It was a disaster at the box office but definitely the class audience hailed d audience then n hail it even now
Such a difficult job of an actor ho transform a plan script into live emotions. Hats off to SRK. 👍
Thank u asutosh goarikor n srk for making this film. from the moment mohan went to meet the poor guy for pending due and even after having nothing he served mohan food ...and next this water scene.. i kept on rolling tears and couldn't stop myself... what a reflection of many part of real india...my heart crushed...
Realistic Scene
No Dialogue . Just Silent Scene with Background Score.
That boy not crying. But we are crying.
Water goes into our body and comes out from eyes . The boy life journey has shaken our life Journey. Our Soul stopped on Station. Emotionality Connected.
The single most iconic scene of SRK & that to without a single word
Chutzpah
Beautiful Scene & Beautiful film by Ashutosh Gowarikar & Beautiful songs & score by A R Rahman extremely underrated film. Now a cult classic 💯🎥🎬🤘🏻🎞🎬🇮🇳
Lets take a moment to appreciate the hats off performance of SRK, whenever I watch this movie it gives me sense of peace and Inspiration. The best part that I like is love is portrait as a symbol of purity.
This single scene is enough to fall in love with SRK's acting. He should make more movies like this which brings the best out of his acting
ARR take a bow, you lifted this scene to an whole another level
The best scene in the history of bollywood! It speaks volumes.
Man this scene broke me bad, the raw and overwhelming emotions it has 😢
I am so happy to find the comments here and so many people understanding the depth of the scene . I may sound too pompous but this scene , I return to only to question my actions and what I have been able to do with little privilege I have to make difference to others life in order to make them smile .
sir .i salute u......saali society aisi hi ho gayi hai...bc govt....we dont need them..i feel ek election hona cchaaiye ki we dont need government
This was heart wrenching...Everytime i see this, I can't control my emotions. SRK & that little boy did full justice to the scene
One of the best scenes in the history of modern Indian cinema. SRK was flawless in this film. Great work by Ashutosh Gowariker and the team!
Best scene of the movie. So realistically shot by Gowariker and terrific expressions by Shahrukh Khan.
What an amazing scene ... still brings in all those emotions when we watched it for the first time
I love when SRK does performance oriented roles. His talent truly shines through.
If you want to see the acting through the eyes.. just watch this.. SRK, you're a legend..❤
Excellent act by SRK. Hats off. This movie was time ahead. I couldn't stop myself crying after watching this
Those who say that SRK only hams, should watch this movie and this scene. Their opinion will be dashed. Indeed this movie deserved a national award.
This scene hits your soul hard. So many things about India are said in such subtle way in this short scene. And the way SRK portrayed his emotions says a lot of how he is feeling without saying a word. No wonder he is where he is now.
This is my all time favourite scene from one of my favourite movies.
This movie is integral part of life.. this movie keeps on reminding inspite of many drawbacks our India is standing strong
Goosebumps - what a brilliant scene , emotions and the BGM - such a simple screenplay but what a execution - SWADESH will always remain cult classic and much much ahead of it's time when released as audiences were not matured to understand such masterpiece
One of the most finest and most emotional scene of Srk. Hats off to u Sir
One of the best movies i have ever seen in my life ..
This movie made me fall in love with my country once again♥️♥️♥️
I am not a SRK Fan, but he proved his mettle in this movie , what a performance!!
Script forget to mention AR Rahman score which elevates the scene and emotion to the core at the end 🙌
As SRK once said, I leave a part of me to every character that I perform...And I believe its the director's vision to take out the potential the ACTOR Shah Rukh Khan has.
What an actor ! What a talent ! KING.
And here you understand that there's a lot of difference between a script and filming a scene.
Some expressions cannot be scripted.
And here comes the vision of the director and his team. 🙌🙌🙌
Very well said
Abhi Tak 50 se Jyada Baar Swades Dekha....

I don't know why I keep coming back to this scene and ofcourse SRK. There is no any scene as moving as this in any movie and this SRK is beyond any words
The scene that breaks you to bits and pieces from top to bottom.
I can never stop my tears in this scene 🥺 SRKs expression looks so damn natural like he can actually feel and empathise with the pain and sufferings of the poor and the helpless, at several instants in the movie 🙁
My favourite movie till date and one of the best movies of SRK ❤
I still remember watching the movie in one of those single theaters in Pune. Pin drop silence during this scene.. I could feel the entire theater shocked in pain.. i was speechless for 5 minutes n then turned to my friend to ask "just how did he pull off this scene"?
U mus b have been shocked. The rest of d audience mustn't even hav understood the relevance of this scene. That's y the movie was a disaster at the box office
One of the best scenes of SRK carrier
Shahrukh Khan is a gem in acting field like albert Einstein in science field, world don't recognise their best work at real time but after some years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Background music in strings ye jo des h tera ,nd SRK's acting level both are superb flawless
Shedding genuine tears watching this in Nov 2024. This movie is instrumental in me deciding to stay back in India and work towards a stronger India
I cry everytime I watch this scene. This is best SRK I have seen.
You are a gem Ashutosh. Thanks a ton for this movie.
This is sheer brilliance of Gowariker, Shah and Rahman saab. Omg priceless scene.
Mitti ke ye khushbu tu kaise bhulayega❤❤❤what a scene masha Allah
OMG..his acting and expressions are just on another level
Love you SRK 👑❤
I was in 12th class when I saw this masterpiece scene i literally wept and decided one day I will do something extraordinary for my nation after 11 years I haven't done anything huge like that but I promise you people I will make an impact towards my lovely nation thank you🥰
Sometimes being a good human being in itself is a great contribution to your country.
Reading ur msg thouight to tell u that we r doing something for the tribal kids education in extremly located ZP schools. It reminds me of this movie
Same here, but we may find many evil minded and bad people in our surrounding who will not let us to come up or do something good.
Let's keep on try and have good intentions with in Inshaallah Hope the end will be good.
But sb say pehlay imaandari say wo kaarn dekho jiski wajah say sb h tb kuch krnaa.

This Movie and This Particular Scene ❤️ SRK nailed it as Mohan Bhargava 💯 Ashutosh nailed it as Director. AR Rahman bgm🔥
By far SRK's best performance. This movie stands out. Ashutosh G pulled off a masterpiece
Swades.....a life changing fine piece of art!!!
Both Shahrukh and AR Rahman had a very struggling past, so many sacrifices....both of their fathers died when they were quite young.....they have seen suffering from their own eyes and managed to become one of the greatest professionals in their respective career. Shahrukh's acting is with his eyes and body language and Rahman's presence can be felt with his soulful music.
