Just an update on this horse. This is Oaky. He is now a horse that everyone rides... including my husband. From completely wild to part of the family. This horse has really become something special from humble beginnings.
Thank you for using a horse that doesn't know how to do it! I hate it when people use their pro show horses to describe the pivot. They show you what the pivot is, not how it is taught. Keep up the great work with your horse! (:
+Anna Schaben thinking the same thing! My horse is green and is having a hard time isolating the front end and all the other videos involve someone's horse who knows how to do it so you can't see what horses who don't know it will do (like mine) and how to fix it! Thanks!
I just want to say I have been SEARCHING how to teach a horse to pivot who doesn’t know I’m so glad you did this! Every other video the horse knows and when it’s just explained and you can’t see the process it’s so much harder so thank you for a great video to show!
Also agree with other comments, it is very helpful to watch a horse learn something that they don't know how to do rather than watch what to do on a horse that is compliant. Much more helpful, thanks!
Good job! Great to see you work with a horse that does not know. Good timing on your part. Great that you show how they can try the wrong moves before they get the right ones. Takes confidence on your part to share. Well done!
Great video, thank you so much for showing how to do this with a horse that is new to it. So many trainer videos show you on perfectly trained horses, which is so frustrating.
Thank you! I love the way you work with the horse on this. Its in a way that is unexplainable, but it is very good! And also thank you for not using a horse who already knows how - this helps to show the people that it CAN work. My horse is 23 years old and has no idea how to pivot - but I think these techniques will work just fine for us, defintely not what I had been trying before - the both of us were getting frustrated and that never ends well ;) Thanks again!
so sad to think whoever had him before hurt him so bad that even when you go to pet him and tell him good boy he spooks. hes lucky to have you now, he seems lovely as do you! also thank you so much for this video. every video ive watched has been done with a fantastic show horse, while my horse is a previously abused and skittish appy mare. shes a sweetheart but just doesn't know what im asking of her. and thank you for not being rough with him like most others - yanking on the lead and smacking their nose and shoulder :( anyway i tried this method and my mare finally started crossing her front feet!! wonderful!
Thankyou....so good to see it being taught to a green horse instead of one that has already a pro.Easy to understand and follow.Do you have a question answer page??
On facebook go to know your horse. At that page I can answer all of your questions. Sorry. I stay off of here because of all the negativity. Trying to show what a normal person goes through with a green horse is a good way to get trashed on youtube by people who do not understand horses......
