Yeah, I dunno how I feel about that.. some of my friends have done testing for them, and they don't really take consistency very seriously.. They kept asking why the numbers and damage wasn't consistent, (and that it can basically break the game.) They were all told it would be too costly and time consuming to make a game that works right..

Maybe, but if you're a fan like I am, I'd love to see all the stuff that they wanted to add, when they originally wanted to. Like in some commentaries I think you were supposed to run into the prophets in the 1st game, cut bosses and areas like taking control of a scarab and so much more

Maybe it will be like infinite where the sprint speed if barely faster from the regular run just so people think they are going faster Clamber however it sucks
They’d definitely have to outright change many level layouts to make clamber work. Therefore, clamber would absolutely suck and ruin it. The running thing is debatable, but I’m on the side of sprinting not really belonging in halo, ESPECIALLY the original trilogy.
Plus clamber may break certain levels so im not particularly wanting that if there is a option for classic no sprint and clamber controls ill consider it

I would like it if halo stopped adding sprinting and sliding, too many games try to be fast paced and I just don't believe the halo games need to try to fallow that theme. 😢
Also worth mentioning that development of all future Halo games will not be developed in-house by Microsoft or 343 Industries, but third party contractors who will work for less pay. I wouldn’t expect much from this announcement.

This could be their greatest game ever, including in all the cut content, even snippets from books or even a level dedicated to Thel 'Vadamee (Arbiter's) perspective, maybe even including his fight with the prophet who tried taking over his command on the ring. I know people think that a remake of the trilogy is pointless, but I see it as an opportunity to take a perfect franchise and make it even better. It will be tough to pull off, but if 343 can really do it, Halo will return to the top (or close to it) of this generation's FPS games.

My first Halo was Infinite, I've been playing every day for the past 3 years and the campaign coop was amazing to play with my friends. I would totally play the old games remakes because I never touch the originals

It's 100% people holding the wallet telling then to do this. "Halo 1-3 made us money, so just do that again". They fail to understand that the fault lies with the devs, not the product.
Must Have: 1. All the vehicles/weapons throughout Halo available in Forge 2. Firefight w/ Forge customization 3. Mod support through dedicated servers that can be leased to mods/communities
You know the covenant cruiser mission in halo ce that was cut and recently implemented through plug in. I had a wonderful idea for that level. Cause and effect. Say the player misses a timed event or fails on a soft objective. Resulting in the covenant cruiser coming in and a branching set of causes and effects that differ leading to another ending for the first game. In wich one of two things can be done or both. 1. Leads into other halo stories. 2. Approaches the next game on the trilogy from the same starting position just with a different set of causes and effects that caused them to be where they are in halo 2 and forward. Basically different endings possible but the same beginning's.
Those other companies actually have some renowned games to their names. Halo 4, 5, and Infinite are the only games made by 343i, and all three have significant problems. Everything else was outsourced.
Why don't 343i remake THEIR own games? I'd like to see what 343i could do with an intact Forward Unto Dawn, Miranda, Johnson, the Chief, Cortana, and The Arbiter arriving on Requiem in an alternate timeline. It's like they can't admit that their games have the flaws--they're obsessed with Bungie's.
343 already did a remake for this. I don’t get why people are excited, if there’s a halo game coming out and 343 is making it then get ready for disappointment. They just struck out with infinite. A remake of ce would ruin its legacy. Bungie already told the story they wanted to tell from ce-3 anything that was cut either wasn’t important to the story or was later determined to be a bad idea so yeah, leave it cut
343 never did a remake of CE, they did however make a remaster which is a entirely different thing. The difference between a remake and remaster👇 >Remaster: complete re-texture of the game >Remake: building the game from the ground up not using old assets, difference in coding and mechanics also (basically a brand new game at that point) So the differences are huge and I can understand the mix up because not everyone knows the differences. But as a old fan from when I played since the early 2000's, you're right about 343, no doubt it will turn out disappointing given the recent games and the micro transaction, yeah at I doubt that 343 will turn the remake too utter garbage and ruin the original lore.

Halo was my game, I loved it since CE and it always held a special place for me. But my enthusiasm and love has died, I cannot stand what they’ve done to it as far as the games and show just a constant let down and knowing people are developing it who hate it makes me sick. I’m out.
They can honestly save this franchise. the challenge is that it needs to be fun and new for new-generation players and traditional and nostalgic for the original veterans.
Don’t get me wrong here, A) I most likely will play the game anyways B) Sure they are adding new movement systems and “cut” content, but.. Waiting 2-2+ years for what is essentially a remake hashed together with already premade content after the lack of content & feedback from 343i for Infinite and MCC is a little ridiculous Fundamentally screwing up this remake will be a make-or-break for the franchise as a whole
My biggest concern isn’t the remake its self but the flood. The Anniversary kind of ruined the atmosphere by making it bright and colorful, where the original was dull and downright creepy. I really hope they keep the original atmosphere, maybe make it darker outside and force the player to use the flashlight to see around the area and inside the facility have some areas dark and some areas have some flashing lights, give it more of a horror feel. Also ditch the grapple hook, it’s not needed.
I’m actually excited for this. It’s a simple job so there’s no way 343 can fuck this up. I would love to see content from The Flood novel make in game like Falcons, Alpha Base, the interrogation of Jenkins, the ODSTs from that one arcade game
I’ve been saying it for years. They need to make MCC the hub for all halo games and any halo game they make just add it on there for an extra $30 as buyable content. Then you have all games on one place on one platform and you can pick and choose which halos you want to play.
The Halo master chief collection kind of already fills this void, so I’m confused as to how this was the next step for the series. I feel like some kind of spinoff story would’ve been better.
i think it’s a cool thing they are remaking the trilogy, it’d be cool to experience missions like 343 guilty spark with more updated and creepy environment
Two points to be made 1. They had absolutely no idea what to do so they decided just to remaster the games 2. I’ve always wanted a remastered halo 3 so honestly I don’t mind at all
I am open to this remake and agree the ONLY thing they should be adding is cut content that couldn’t make it because of time constraints. Thankfully halopedia has documented this fairly well and digsite has helped them…well…dig up a lot
so they started by dropping unreleased stuff from ce into mcc then decided to pull the plug on MCC support and instead push it into a remake and charge full price.
This is probably their best idea yet, take the originally trilogy and add to it, don't change it, just expand on it, it would be a great way for us who wanna jump back in and get to see a new multiplayer for the original, then halo 2 again and 3 and also introduce new players to the franchise, hopefully they just take their time and polish the game and don't ruin it with bad monetization.

To me the main problems are the Story that gets boring with not needed characters or no understood like piece of shit lock or the mind fuck librarian. But has of gameplay and game design perspective... It truly add a new fresh feel at an aging franchise.

They’d definitely have to outright change many level layouts to make clamber work. Therefore, clamber would absolutely suck and ruin it. The running thing is debatable, but I’m on the side of sprinting not really belonging in halo, ESPECIALLY the original trilogy.

Also worth mentioning that development of all future Halo games will not be developed in-house by Microsoft or 343 Industries, but third party contractors who will work for less pay. I wouldn’t expect much from this announcement.

This could be their greatest game ever, including in all the cut content, even snippets from books or even a level dedicated to Thel 'Vadamee (Arbiter's) perspective, maybe even including his fight with the prophet who tried taking over his command on the ring.
I know people think that a remake of the trilogy is pointless, but I see it as an opportunity to take a perfect franchise and make it even better. It will be tough to pull off, but if 343 can really do it, Halo will return to the top (or close to it) of this generation's FPS games.

Cut content and modern controls sound neat but this really depends whether they continue to have the most robust armor customization in the series yet sell you color swatches that you cant even customize.....
If they essentially adapt the novels of the games to the preexisting games im definitely interested. Problem is they have absolutely NO room for error.

1. All the vehicles/weapons throughout Halo available in Forge
2. Firefight w/ Forge customization
3. Mod support through dedicated servers that can be leased to mods/communities
You know the covenant cruiser mission in halo ce that was cut and recently implemented through plug in. I had a wonderful idea for that level.
Cause and effect.
Say the player misses a timed event or fails on a soft objective. Resulting in the covenant cruiser coming in and a branching set of causes and effects that differ leading to another ending for the first game. In wich one of two things can be done or both.
1. Leads into other halo stories.
2. Approaches the next game on the trilogy from the same starting position just with a different set of causes and effects that caused them to be where they are in halo 2 and forward.
Basically different endings possible but the same beginning's.

A remake of ce would ruin its legacy. Bungie already told the story they wanted to tell from ce-3 anything that was cut either wasn’t important to the story or was later determined to be a bad idea so yeah, leave it cut
343 never did a remake of CE, they did however make a remaster which is a entirely different thing.

Halo was my game, I loved it since CE and it always held a special place for me. But my enthusiasm and love has died, I cannot stand what they’ve done to it as far as the games and show just a constant let down and knowing people are developing it who hate it makes me sick. I’m out.
They can honestly save this franchise. the challenge is that it needs to be fun and new for new-generation players and traditional and nostalgic for the original veterans.

My biggest concern isn’t the remake its self but the flood. The Anniversary kind of ruined the atmosphere by making it bright and colorful, where the original was dull and downright creepy. I really hope they keep the original atmosphere, maybe make it darker outside and force the player to use the flashlight to see around the area and inside the facility have some areas dark and some areas have some flashing lights, give it more of a horror feel. Also ditch the grapple hook, it’s not needed.
As a Halo day 1 veteran I would love to play it with all the extra content

I’ve been saying it for years. They need to make MCC the hub for all halo games and any halo game they make just add it on there for an extra $30 as buyable content. Then you have all games on one place on one platform and you can pick and choose which halos you want to play.
The Halo master chief collection kind of already fills this void, so I’m confused as to how this was the next step for the series. I feel like some kind of spinoff story would’ve been better.

so they started by dropping unreleased stuff from ce into mcc then decided to pull the plug on MCC support and instead push it into a remake and charge full price.
This is probably their best idea yet, take the originally trilogy and add to it, don't change it, just expand on it, it would be a great way for us who wanna jump back in and get to see a new multiplayer for the original, then halo 2 again and 3 and also introduce new players to the franchise, hopefully they just take their time and polish the game and don't ruin it with bad monetization.
