Since i am from germany i dunno about the products you mentioned. But in general i agree. I have two sets of oil for the day, two sets of oil for the later evening and night. They differ both in ingredients and smells. While all serve to nurish skin and hair, the day products ingredients are more towards the hair, while the night products are more towards the skin. Same goes for the scent - while day oils are a wee bit more punchy, night oils go more into the flowery area. Dunno if its avaiable in the US, but Slick Haven is really the go to for me over here when it comes to oils and balms.
This is yet another fantastic video and topic. Since watching your videos, I have been using Beard Octane at night religiously. Downshift Beard Butter is my go to because it is such a calming scent. I do put a small amount of oil in as well and let it air dry before putting in the butter mainly because our bedroom is upstairs and it gets really dry. I’m considering buying a humidifier for the winter for that reason. Thanks for all you do, Dan C!

I pretty much agree with all those scents, except for Sam's Spa and Ginger jamboree which I have yet to try. I would add Beard Octanes Fabricator because of the wonderful vanilla that is extremely calming. You already know Snowmelt from Rugged Smuggler is one of my favorites so I'll move on to my favorite. As you might have guessed it's the beautiful and wonderfully smooth Nightwatch from Barbu Beard Co . It has that cedarwood and lavender which are awesome together, with the beautiful undertones of peppermint and vanilla. For Dan C I'd say Barbu's Red Lion will knock your socks off. The lemongrass and citrus complement each other wonderfully with the added freshness of your favorites, vanilla and the peppermint to help you sleep like a baby.
Agreed on the Barbu butters, plus you know the organic ingredients are top notch! I've used a couple of butters, but have had bad results in the form of breakouts. I'm really excited to get the Barbu butters.

Of all the stuff I have, day or night time, The Nightwatch just became my favorite scent for laying in bed, and talking to the wife before sleepy time happens.
Not only for night time scents but I, but I also discovered that those calming scents are great for anxiety disorders like me. Taking a whiff anytime during the day helps a whole lot. It works great! I think those calming scents are ideal for those who need a relaxing calming effect. I have not tried other scents you mentioned, but it’s on my list to try. Great video, Dan C! 👌

It's very calming for him and his favorite soap. I use 2 from Barbu Beard Co, their NightWatch and Red Lion beard butters. Super creamy beard butters and very refreshing. I like refreshing and clean scents. I do use the Gentlemen Scent from GBS. It's a Sandalwood and Bourbon. Very smooth and relaxing. I also like the Barbershop from Beard Octane. Love the citrus and lavender in it. There are a few other that I need to get and try.

Yes! Great Video DanC! If we’re just talking about the majority of the beard community. 50% of the time, we’re using oil and butter at night before bed! Yet, we are very limited when it comes to nighttime specific scents. Yes, a lot of guys like to wear their cologne, citrus, woodsy scents at night.. but... the fact that half of the time, were using our products right before bed... We need more! More companies should be offering a nighttime scent, or 2, or 3! Let’s get it going! There’s so many wonderful possibilities for nighttime specific scents. So many calming, relaxing, and soothing essential and fragrance oils out there that can make phenomenal scent profiles. I really hope that this lightbulb goes off for a lot of my favorite companies owners. “The fact that half of the time, were using these products before bed... and we don’t have any nighttime scent profiles, wow, I should get on that”. Lol. There are a few fantastic nighttime specific products that I love. DGC Belle Isle is wonderful! Heroes and Legends Sandman is great, like you mentioned, do hope they make a butter. NBW has a lavender and bergamot butter which is wonderful for the nighttime. Ruddy Dapper summer butter... love. If you want a crazy strong nighttime butter, Lux has you covered. I prefer whipped butters at night. I use my vanilla orchard during the day I enjoy the smell. Gnarly beard butter and black beard brigades Tanzanian sun butter are my night butters
I pick between two scents I have and you mentioned them both. I mostly use Detroit grooming’s belle isle butter. Really like how it has bees wax so it kinda tames my beard after a shower. My other night time scent (according to the bottle I have) is ruddyman dapper fox summer butter. Love them both and love that lavender scent at night. I don’t have the oil to match either of them but I use honest amish after every nighttime shower before I use either of these. I actually got both of these based on your recommendation on either old videos or live streams...so thanks!
Hey, I use a thick oil at night instead of butter. I was wondering, should I put beard oil right after the shower and then apply the thicker oil right before bed (a few hours later), or is that too much?

Night time routine is oil and butter. I currently use DGC Belle Isle, for the scent profile and butter feel, but would definitely prefer a tea tree scent with a mix of something maybe on the sweet side to balance out the scent. Awesome video Dan🤙

I have gotten to where my two favorite butters for night and snoozing are AlwaysBeardiful Sea Captain and Barrier Reef. It took me a long time to finally figure out Barrier Reef but to me it smells like Frebreze but I really like it at night and the Sea Captain with the Rose and Lilac are so calming. I do like the Downshift but it smells a little to feminine to me and my wife took it from me. I have been using the Beard Justice Birthday Suit Butter also at night with the cucumber and nice scent. This is another one my wife took from me.

We put lavender lotion our girls after baths and I’ve really started to love that scent. I need me some belle isle. I’ve been hesitant because of the orange in there, which I love orange, but wasn’t sure how it reacted with the lavender. That is going on my Christmas list for sure! Same with Mr. Sandman.
Leland is my absolute favourite bedtime scent. Ginger Jamboree sounds exciting, definitely on my list of scents to try. Unpopular opinion : I'm not a fan of Belle isle. My sniffer picks up an orange peel, medicinal sort of dull odour. But then again, it's just me.
