Please let me know if you find an easier way to model that 8 points adaptive family.
MashaAllah... God Bless you... Thanks alot bro...
Nice as usual ❤
Hello, I did the same way but it couldn't repeat correctly according to the buttom and top nodes.
It repeats correctly when both surfaces are closely resemble in size.
Can you share your file so I can have a look for you?
very clear tutorial, but since im fairly new to revit, i want to ask, how would you do load it into a specified lenght and width of a ceilling in a specific project? do i have to model in place it or is there a better way to do it? kinda want to integrate this ceilling design into my project. thank you!
Yes, you need to model in place a mass to match the ceiling you want to cover, then divided surface, and apply the adaptive family.
Nice Nice massing and a way to constrain inner panel in a rectangle.
I am thinking … this could be done with model in place: long extrusion downward then a void (or couple of) sweep or blend swept at the bottom ? This way you will get the thickness immediately otherwise you have to apply wall by face to all the panels ?
Not sure about the model in place methods. The thickness is built in the adaptive family already.
Another reason for using adaptive family instead of model in place with void is to have straight edges. Also it can be a bit hard to adjust the shape and size of the extrusion. What do you think, Samer?

I think you are right … the edge are not straight
It’s also much more flexible to change in a mass than to change in a model-in-place
when you dont see the choose shape window just zoom far out and you shall see them
