Browns fans, check out "Monmouth Football Highlights 2011" to see 23 minutes of Tanney footage. Observations:
Kelley Holcomb syndrome - Often stares down a single receiver and throws to him. Had a very good receiver in 17 (Blodgett) but other receivers who were wide open were ignored while #11 waited for #17 to get open. On the bright side, above average footwork, could sense and avoid the rush. Decently quick release. Huge arm with very good touch. Normally threw the ball where defenders could not get it. Cool head, did not throw hard when pressured and did not needlessly endanger health by scrambling for yards; he is not built like Vick, McNair or Tebow. At 6'4" 220, decent height to see over line. So, more potential than Weeden but he is no Kurt Warner waiting to shine.
