I was a manager in a computer shop in the 90's in the UK and to see the price of some of this stuff that I quite literally had in my hands every day blows my mind I didn't think to invest.
Mate, we've all been there. if only we knew then. Ironically youtuber's are mostly to blame for these over inflated prices, most of the high priced games are dog shit!
@@garrz32 THANK YOU! Finally somebody who agrees with me. These UA-camrs describe a lot of these retro games like they were the best thing out back then.
Thanks for showing the market value of the items you showcase now. As a reseller it's really helpful. I think I recall that you didn't routinely show the market price of the items you spoke about in your videos. I'm glad you changed that because the absence of it caused me to not watch your videos for the longest as I'm not a collector as you are. Now as long as you keep showing marketplace values I'm going to watch your videos regularly to learn about hot items and what they go for. Thanks!

@@masonsheppard1236 for me personally its more about collecting them, but i do know people that keep around a Windows XP machine to play retro games on legacy hardware. i love buying back pieces of my childhood
Video games had such irregular booms, at various times, that there must be hundreds of local small gaming shops like this one, with tons of gems laying around, without anyone knowing whats going on. The important trick here is knowing and being able to recognize what has value and what doesn't, outside of the few obvious titles. Well done.. love watching content from passionate collectors, even when I know nothing about it
Kris has an absolutely beautiful collection of just insane heavy hits lol. So nonchalant about it too. Would love to see him get into UA-cam more. Saw him on a pixel plus podcast and seems very knowledgeable and comfortable in front of the camera and mic. I’m sure he’s already extremely busy though
Rick! That man is gonna sell you one of those Samson's when that's the only game you need to complete the NES Collection. Love these episodes man. Props to Riff for the great editing!
Title is a bit misleading, although he forgot he had 2 cib Samsons, he clearly knows what he has there. Also, Riff posted basically the same video months ago on his channel 😅
Dude - love that area. 30+ years ago I used to be a regular at Sunset Beach just up the road from there. I live a bit further away now, but will check out the store if I'm ever nearby. Good times!
Retro Rick cost me money. I was into gaming in my 20s when the N64 was out. Played a lot of Golden Eye on that, and Doom, Duke Nukem, etc on the PC. Then life got in the way, getting married, demanding job, etc. One day a Retro Rick video appeared on my suggested videos and started watching them. Today, at 58 years old, I walked out of Target today with a Nintendo Switch OLED and Maro Kart 8. Will get back in the groove with Mario Kart, then will probably pick up one of the Zelda titles. Thanks a lot Rick, my wallet is lighter now. :)
I used to have almost every NES, Gameboy, and SNES game released in the US, except most realistic sports games (I only like the exaggerated sports titles like NBA Jam). Kept the boxes and manuals to all the games as well. I never ripped or threw them out either. Unlike most collectors, I did play the games that I owned and beat most of them, even the tedious ones like Mario Is Missing, lol. For my really favorite games I used to buy a second copy that I would keep sealed, for reasons unknown to me. I guess I was obsessed. My closet had more games and consoles than it did clothes and my family was pissed at me for it. They told me it as a form of hoarding and I needed to stop. One day in the early 2000s I decided to sell the games and systems I was no longer using to free up space. That, and I had discovered emulation, not just on PC, but on the Dreamcast. I had (and still do) a single CD with every NES game on it that plays great on the Dreamcast. It's crazy that people are now paying small fortunes for games that I use to buy brand new really cheap. Hell, there was a used game store about 15 minutes from where I used to live where they sold used games for $5 or less. Only the super popular ones sold for more than $5, and it didn't even matter what system it was for. If I had known that those games would have skyrocketed in value, I would have kept them because in present day I would have enough to buy more than a couple of houses and vehicles. Holy crap! Damn I should have at least kept the sealed ones, they were in perfect condition! But I will say that having freed up space is nicer in the home. Nowadays I focused on building machines that can play everything as to not clutter my home again like when I was younger.
Awesome game store! I love it when you guys go exploring different game shops. Or even pick some people's houses for stuff. I love the variety. It makes me really wish I went into the professional video game collecting and selling business. In another life, I can imagine I adapted to that career choice quite well. Stumbling onto great video game related discoveries is something I live for. It looks like you guys are the same. Keep following those passions.
That Rad VHS would have easily been a purchase for me, grew up watching this with my late uncle so brings back memories! Still to this day listen to the soundtrack and always wanted a bike just like Cru...
