    the birds are the replikas and they have been shaken by this resonance reverberating throughout reality and so they have taken on the coloring of the magpie (elster). and the music is all slightly changed copies of copies of other music. xerox of a xerox. copies of copies. cycles repeating. this would probably make more sense if you watch a bunch of vids about the game or just deep focus analyze the game yourself. you're lucky i didn't dip in to the battlestar galactica stuff

    Man there are a lot of concepts discussed and i think you did a great job going through them and using referances and symbolisim to help us visualize things.
    Thank you for an awesome playthrough and an awesome video. You are amazing.

    Really like the video. I'm really glad the akira elevator made it in as an example of artists reusing cool stuff from other works. I feel like that elevator could get a whole video to itself.

      i always thought of it as the resident evil elevator. i don't even remember it from akira. i guess i never read the manga, but have you seen the physical editions? they're HUGE. anyway, i linked an article and a video about the akira elevator in the description

      @@GhostGirlBlues Resident evil was definitely my first exposure to it as well. I'm sure akira wasn't the first piece of media they were in either, but in Half-Life they have one and the game files refer to it as the akira elevator lol. Yeah, I've seen they have similar lifts to move boats through canals and such. Very cool IMO.
