can we import sketchup 3d warehouse models directly in to rhino as import command? would they be on scale and not have complex geometry i.e triangulations etc?
Thanks so much. I do have one question though: is there a way to reduce the file size on the imports? I have 3MB Architecture file. When I import a tree obj. file, the file size jumps to like 160MB.
Myself an Natalie touched on this in my 'finding your style video'. But to summarise, Rhino is often taught in Uni and is probably your best bet for studio work, its also used in industry but pretty much only for concept work. Revit is used the most in industry for architecture but may not be the best for studio work as it requires every element to be perfect which can limit your creativity. Hope this helps ( :
can we have a furniture library in rhiino. like at each project do we have to open the files, cant ı just paste the models easly for every project.(like when i am inside the model I just want to add the furniture not to open it scale it again etc.. like a block command in autocad)?
hey bro how do you change the colour of the furnitures? The models that i have imported are as mesh and even if i explode them i cannot change the colours or textures
That may be quite hard I can think of a few ideas: 1. Assign the material to the layer it's on (but it will all be one material) 2. Get objs with pre assigned materials/colours 3. Change the materials in post
@Vince Marcello Yes, I would put all your grasses on the same layer and then assign your colour/ texture to the whole layer in the layers toolbar. If you have more that one material try exploding them and put the specific materials on their own layers,
Yeah I have the same issue, sometimes if it downloads as a .rar I have to just find another asset if anyone does know how to help feel free to comment!

No but you can load them into sketch-up, save it and open the sketchup file in rhino
hey! thanks for the reply. is there any resource stack like 3dwarehouse for rhino? @@Imranesm
@@Skhanarchitects Not that I'm aware of but hopefully if anyone does they can comment! I'll pin this.
@@Imranesm great. Hey thanks for the help 🙌🙌
@@Skhanarchitects Anytime!

Why I can't move the imported object the normal way? I can not snap them even i have snap turned on.
You need to do mesh to nurb command first

YES!! if you type ReduceMesh you can simplify the polygons to make them very small without loosing too much detail
Thank you! What software would be architecture standard?

Can 3D max furniture be exported to Rhino? And what is the method?
Yes you can export it as a .obj and do this method, or .fbx and this will keep the textures

Unfortunately not rhino can be a bit fidly, you could always make one file with all your furniture in prescaled so it's easy to copy
what about the materiality though? i downloaded some things and they are completely white in render mode. is there a way to put materials on them?
I believe it is .fbx files that have textures. The import process should be the same
Hero💪
Glad it helped
most of the furniture i have downloaded wont have the textures on.. how can i find models with textures?
Just depends on the format. The format .fbx should have textures if it says it does

Hi, when I download in OBJ format, they download as .rar and then don't open up on my Rhino. Please help me, thank you

Even If I dowload the .fbx format the model doesn`t have materials or textures, what can I do?
Is your rhino in rendered view?
@@Imranesm yes, it is.
@@naiaraazkaratemartinez8994 In that case I am sorry but I don't know, I would try just using another model that does work though
nice but its not free actually
If you go on the price and sort by free only you don't have to pay anything. I've done this for all of my final submissions.
